UPDATE: Indiana serial killer

matters this is important and it's important enough for me to put it on my calendar and come and sit and give the gift of my presence so when we gather as a community with the Hamilton County coroner's office we give the gift of dignity and honor to the identified victims and their families of the horrible Fox Hollow tragedy they have all suffered in Silence the families have had shame and judgment and so we humbly carry sorrow for not showing love to each and every one of you sooner please receive our gentle Open Arms of friendship we give it to you as a gift to help you carry your heartache I really want to humbly thank the ministry partners and business partners who made today happen I do not stand up here alone there are an army of people standing behind me my heart of gratitude overflows with admiration for each and every one of them so I'm going to do my thank yous first because I couldn't even stand here in this moment without them first my husband Steve powerful faithful Warrior for the kingdom I am so thankful for the strong pillar that you are you live on Mission and we do this work together for he knows your names 15 years you have been with me from day one and because of you and your support and our foundation I stand here today thank you coroner Jeff Jellison thank you for never forgetting thank you for your bold commitment to your duty and leading this initiative to bring honor to those who lost their lives at the Fox Hollow tragedy we are grateful for you your whole team who serve in this community in dark hard places You Are Not Invisible to us any longer I am proud to work alongside you Jeff and your entire team and to the heroes who have worked tirelessly to identify the men whose lives were lost I think thank you we see you the work you have done for decades has brought us to this place where we can bring healing we offer our gratitude to your endurance and the dignity you have given life flanner and Buchanan Bruce Buchanan and his another yes to me when I came to him and asked him if he would do this with me I am so grateful he too has worked alongside me for so many years helping to implement my vision I'm grateful for the experience and the dedication you bring Mark I thank you for helping manage all the details that brought us here today and Ben Upton thank you for coming and moving here from Nashville I think you were shocked the day we met in your office and I came to you with an enormous project to do The Monuments for the 173 and your head was spinning and yet you said yes I know this is in your heart to do and I thank you and then came Fox hello and you said yes again and honestly Jeff we would not be here today without you your expertise your creativity and your resources thank you to Indiana Funeral Care Melissa Sarah David ring I'm so thankful for each and every one of you you we have served together from the very beginning of he knows your name for 15 years and again your yeses blow my mind your generosity has been incredible as an Indiana business you have come alongside me and made so much happen thank you for your faithful partnership Pence Media Group thank you each and every one of you ladies each of you have heard my heart you have Ste stewarded the vision and mission of he knows your name I fully trust you to do that and I'm so grateful you give me confidence that you will Usher in the message for raising awareness and educating on whatever it is I'm doing but the M basic message of he knows your name has been carried beautifully by you thank you Andrew and Heather zako know she's walking if that's the only way it's she's going to get here she has b a friend and a colleague she received the very first phone call from me in 2009 and I'm so grateful for how many grave sites she has stood with me by and we will have uh dov's Express Kendall come to release the doves and he has given such a sweet tender moment to us in so many moments of Dove release that has just brought a new level of us looking heavenward and Mike Chandler thank you for capturing the sacred of this day the sacred of so many days that tell a story about what we are doing here in Central Indiana that we can say proudly we are no one else is doing anywhere in this country and your documentation of all the visual is really making a difference last but not least my Molly grund the cooo of he knows your name thank you for carrying my heart with tender care and living on Mission with me for so many years you are helping me bring the Kingdom of Heaven to Earth and I'm so grateful this has been quite an adventure and you keep saying yes to all of it you your husband and your family you love deeply and sacrificially and everyone who meets you knows that you are pure joy I am so grateful for the value that everyone in this room has put on this event and the quality of life that you are offering those lives we celebrate today even if you did not know these nine men we honor today you know them in death because you see these two pictures here of Jeffrey Jones and Allan Livingston and you also will hear the other names read and the fact that you're listening and you're putting names to the victims I hope will change the narrative in your heart from being just a tragedy which is an event to honor and Redemption from victim to named and child of God they've mattered and you all are here saying with your presence that their life mattered and you're glad they were born would you please stand with me while I open our time in prayer thank you God that we can come together and I start this time for you today with worship with that song Holy Holy is your name and Psalm 1061 says praise the Lord oh give thanks to the Lord for he is good for his loving kindness is Everlasting and yes it is Lord we invite your holy presence here today with us warm us with your Holy Spirit anoint us with the authority of the Holy Name Of Our Savior Jesus Christ so that we may give you honor and Glory we acknowledge you as creator of all things and it is because of you and and your holy Majesty that we bow before you claiming your kingship over us it is our desire to lift you high today as we honor all of life you created us in your beautiful image and we want to set this time apart as being holy giving dignity to The Nine Lives that we know about to this day who are lost missing and now known they were image bearers of yours Lord it is our desire to lay to rest these children honor their lives together as community and the glory is all yours father son and holy spirit amen you may be seated Isaiah 588 says then your light will break forth like the Dawn and your healing will come quickly then your righteousness will go before you and the glory of the Lord will be your rear guard it may surprise you to hear me say that you actually have something in common with these nine men because they like you have been called they were called to be sons and you guys were called to be Sons and Daughters you are called to fulfill the plans and purposes of God on this Earth to come and lead and bring Unity bring Justice worship and love the one true God we've been called to love our neighbors and that's what we're doing today so it's my prayer that during this service we would praise God for crafting each one of these nine men to be exactly who they were and you too have been crafted by the Creator himself to be exactly who you are and to bring your unique the footprint of God the fingerprint of God is on each of your lives and you will leave a mark on this world and I pray that you know what that is for yourself and that today you're left more inspired to ask God what that is I pray that you feel the value you are giving I pray that you have a deeper understanding of who you are as a child of God how will hearing these names read today because of their death change your life how will ushering A New Path of healing in our community soften your hearts to those who are oppressed and have no voice my first introduction is Jeff Jellison in 2023 we invited all the coroners in the state of Indiana I think 95 or so of them to come to the UN the celebration of life for 173 from the Marian County coroner's office that were left unclaimed we laid them to rest the prior year and then we were having an um an Monument unveiling so we invited every coroner and only one came and that was Jeff jealous that's what Jeff does he shows up he shared his heart with me in a meeting I had with him and his office and it was lifechanging there's a sign on his wall that says no longer forgotten I could tell it was handmade because it kind of stood out on this big wall this small little canvas and I couldn't help but continue looking at it all although we were talking about laying to rest the one unclaimed they had and I said Jeff what is that mean to you and he said well my wife made it because that's what we keep saying about the Fox Hollow victims no longer forgotten it's a daily reminder for him of the 30-year difficult and dark investigation and he said those lives will not be forgotten on my walk watch he shared his heart with me about the investigation he inherited he told me that he promised Sharon Livingston Allen's mother that her son would be honored in her lifetime and I asked him well how do you plan on doing that and he said I have no idea we talked about those deserving men and how they have not yet been memorialized publicly and I saidh is that why in 30 years all the people that have passed through that office all of the people that have had a hand in that investigation that have heard that story that have told that story that are touched by that story why has no one done it and he didn't know but he said no one else has come forward it is an honor for me to partner with Jeff to bless the families in particular of those men's lives lost this today is as much for them as it is the men we wanted to come alongside them embrace them in this trauma give them a pathway for healing and say we want to help by the call to action that Jeff is going to give you to identify the remaining men it is time we bring them home the missing men have been a lingering trauma for those families and I say to them personally I am so sorry I say thank you to Jeff Jellison for caring for never forgetting I welcome you Jeff thank you Linda today is a very emotional day for me I had two goals when I reopened this investigation and they were to provide a final resting place for those that are to be identified and the second was to provide closure and answers to family two years ago I could not picture us coming together today and we are here and we are providing families with those answers and thanks to Linda he knows your name and everyone that she mentioned earlier we are providing a final resting spot I really struggled to find words to speak today it is challenging for me to speak about nine men that I had never met but nine men that have consumed Our Lives daily for the last two years so as I prepared my comments I set my ink pen down and my notepad down and I just thought I'm going to speak from my heart and to the families that are here today of those that we have identified please understand that there is no way that we can understand your grief we see it and we are here to support you to those families that may be waiting to have a loved one identified you've been grieving in a Darkness for 30 years of unanswered questions please understand we also see your grief and that we are working diligently to provide you with a path of closure and please understand that you are no longer forgotten I would like to thank the team members that have come alongside me for the past two years for performing their St statutory responsibility of identifying deceased individuals found in Hamilton County but even more so we want to express our respect to the families and to provide the deceased with dignity and I want to reissue my plea that if you suspect that you have a relative or a loved one that is missing that might be related to this case that you please come forward and finally I want to say to Alan Livingston and Jeff Jones rest in peace thank you in 2009 I made a phone call to the Marian County Corner's office about a tragic breaking news story about a baby found in a dumpster in downtown Indianapolis he knows your name was birthed when I made that one phone call and Alie and I birthed a friendship because of baby Nicholas we are here today because of the legacy of so many starting with baby Nicholas together with the Maran County coroner's office I think we've laid to rest almost 300 unclaimed adults Alfie and the Maran County coroner team has shown what can happen when the private sector joins with the public sector because when we collaborate we get a lot more done it is now my great joy to welcome my friend Alfie McGinty to read Psalm 23 thank cousin of Allan Livingston whom we honor today I've had the opportunity to speak with Matthew and meet with and hear his heart for his cousin and I am thankful for his willingness to share as only he can today Matthew I am so sorry for your loss and the loss your family has endured I'm sorry for the grief and the suffering in the generations of your family thank you for choosing to share from your heart today help us to remember and to honor and to shine the light into the darkness that I I know your family is craving for I hope that every one of you take a little piece of the glimpse of this truth from a family member home with you today and that it makes this sink a little deeper into your understanding of what this means to these family members thank you Linda hello everyone I want to begin by honoring all of the victims saying their families whether your loved ones remains have been identified or are still unknown We Stand Together in this shared sorrow and Remembrance this Monument is not just for one person but for all of those who have lost their lives during this tragedy it represents our Collective goal of sharing a time of grief but our Shared Hope for closure and our determination to remember each life that was taken as We Gather before this Monument today we're reminded that we come from a journey of Darkness but into something brighter for many years the truth about what happened at Fox Hollow Farm was shrouded in darkness leaving families like ours in anguish and uncertainty with the identification of my cousin Alan Livingston's remains my my family has found a measure of Solace this knowledge while it cannot erase the past has given us closure and a sense of Peace his mother Sharon Livingston despite her ill health found comfort in this understanding she has given her blessing for Allen's remains to be laid to rest here at this Memorial today hoping it will serve as a Beacon of Hope for all of the families who have suffered today we also let to rest another victim Jeff Jones our hearts go out to his family as they too find some measure of peace and closure this Monument stands as a symbol that even in the darkest of times there can be hope and healing as a family we are beginning to find peace knowing that Allan's spirit and Jeff's Spirit and the spirits of all victims are now at rest we remember them not just for how their lives ended but for the impact that they have had on our world may this Memorial re remind us that even in the face of profound Darkness there is always always a path to Hope and peace thank you so I allowed Matthew to introduce you to Allan today um none of you knew that we were going to have two to lay to rest today and that developed yesterday and um we were so honored to make way for this family to also find peace and rest knowing that they would both be laid together today in the uary next I want to introduce to you my son and my pastor Andrew zanako who is lead pastor at an church he leads with strength and tenderness he contributed to the legacy of 173 he will bring a message of Hope today for you for the families and to our community welcome Andrew thank you for being here here everybody there's something about coming together to celebrate life that makes you reflect on your own life and there's something about coming together to honor people in their death that rightfully ought to make you think about your own death the death that awaits all of us it's right when we come together to honor others that we reflect on our own lives what are we living for who are are we living for it is natural again to reflect on death what will that be like who might be there when we are remembered what might we be remembered for what exactly happens when we die we celebrate these lives today because their lives mattered your life matters too it matters that you're here it matters that God gave you the gift of today I want to read a section of Psalm 139 it's out of a collection of poems in the Bible that is several thousand years old it's a it's the reflections of a man he's looking back on his life he is coming towards the end and looking closer to death than the beginning of Life there have been the highest of highs there have been the lowest of lows he had had a lot of wins and a lot of losses he had been celebrated and he had been hated he had been known and he had been forgotten as he looked back and reflected on the life he had lived and the little bit of life he had left what stuck out to him the most was the continual faithful presence of the Living God he said this oh Lord you have searched me and known me you know when I sit down and when I Rise Up you discern my thoughts from afar you search out my path and my lying down and are acquainted with all my ways even before a word is on my tongue behold oh Lord you know it all together you hem me in behind and before and lay your hand upon me such knowledge is too wonderful for me it is high I cannot attain it where shall I go from your spirit or where shall I flee from your presence if I Ascend to Heaven you are there if I take if I make my bed in shol you are there if I take the wings of the morning and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea even there your hand shall lead me and your right hand shall hold me if I say surely the darkness shall cover me and the light about me be night even the darkness is not dark to you the night is bright as the day for darkness is as light with you for you formed my inward Parts you knitted me together in my mother's womb I praise you for I am fearfully and wonderfully made wonderful are all your Works my soul knows it very well my frame was not hidden from you when I was was being made in secret intricately woven in the depths of the earth your eyes saw my unformed substance in your book were written every one of them the days that were formed for me when as yet there was none of them how precious to me are your thoughts oh God how vast is the sum of them if I would count them they're more than the sand I awake and I am still with you you I didn't know any of the men that we remember today I don't know very much about any of their lives but we all know about their tragic deaths I don't know if any of them knew God as the psalmist says that knowledge is too high for me I cannot attain it but what I do know about these men that we remember today is that God knew them he knew their conception he knew their path he knew their death and I know today that God knows you when you sit down and when you rise up he knows your thoughts and your words he knew your conception he knows your path he knows your death my question for you today while you still have today is do you know him you were created by Him to know him to participate with him in his will and in his kingdom in this life that he has given to you but we all like sheep have gone astray we've all gone against him and sinned we have fallen short of the glory of God that we were created for and the Bible tells us that the wages of our sin is death death in this life and death eternally apart from God we have all chosen sin and we must at some point foot the bill but the Bible tells us that the gift of God is eternal life his son Jesus Christ lived the perfect life that we could not live and in his death he satisfied the payment for our sins and in his resurrection he has made a way for us to come to him by faith and to be born Born Again into a new life in his grace you have the opportunity on this blessed day of remembrance and of honor to make the decision that matters the most to live your life for something Beyond this life to put your hope in a life that goes beyond the grave to be born again by the grace of Jesus Christ into the hope that Matthew told us about as we near the end of our time I'd like to pray for us and ask that you would all bow your heads with me that are here or watching online wherever you're coming from this morning I want you to know that eternal life is available to you the invitation is simple believe and turn to Jesus as we pray in remember these men I invite you to pour out your heart to God if you're searching for that eternal life you can pray something like this Jesus I believe in you I have sinned when I need your forgiveness and I'm asking for your grace would you bring me close to you would you let me be born again into your grace that I can know you now and live with you forever Lord I'm praying for all of us here this morning that in this day of celebrating the life of these men and remembering their tragic death that we would have a deep revelation of you I pray that we would have a revelation of what you're calling us to in this life and a revelation of hope that you give us even in death we lift up your name above every fear and every loss and we confess that we need your grace on us Lord Jesus we remember their lives today and we celebrate your life today we honor their deaths and we honor you in your death and we thank you for new and eternal life in your holy name in the name of Jesus we pray amen thank you Andrew as you continue with the heart of reflection I just want to share with you some of the promises I see from God's word about heaven and I just hope these bring Comfort to you as you think about these nine men they are Sons so I speak to all of them Sons you will be given the father's loving face you will see the father's loving face you will be given a mansion in the holy city and you will receive nourishment from the very mouth of God you will sit in the lap of light wearing a royal garment and you will eat from a banquet table you will drink from a flowing well of Living Water and you will be warmed by the hovering of the Holy Spirit and you will stand in the loving presence of your savior Jesus forever and ever [Music] [Music] we [Music] [Music] Des of [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] again [Music] [Music] [Music] res [Music] [Music] [Music] which one's which that one's your that us [Music] we sh [Music] we [Music] GL e e e e [Music] and just a [Music] second for for guys are good good good good you're okay for for Psalm 2474 and 5 say one thing I ask of the Lord this is what I seek that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life to gaze upon the beauty of the Lord and to seek him in his Temple for in this day of trouble he will keep me safe in his dwelling and he will hide me in his shelter in his Tabernacle and set me high upon a rock we are going to goodness we are going to open the erns and lay to rest Jeffrey Jones and Allan Livingston for the ashary will be available for any family member to use in the future at any time so Jeff and I have continued to say it is time it is time to we say this is no longer an event it is honor tragedy is now considered a blessing because the gift of being known and given Justice and given a healing light of redemption and hope has happened honoring victims in their family is finishing a story it's bringing beauty from ashes but please hear me say that doing this today does not undo the horror of this tragedy and the devastation of what this has done to these families but it is rewriting a chapter in that story and bringing a pathway of healing that is now a new way to talk about this at their dinner table at Christmas on birthdays and forever more the wait ends here today because the lost have been found what was hidden has come to light and now made new and we celebrate with names we call them worthy together we seek the reflection of beauty refract the Brilliance of Jesus in and through our lives through light through healing especially the way we move forward to love our neighbors today and forever more Andrew would you please read the names John Lee Johnny Bayer Jeffrey Allen Jeff Jones Richard Douglas Hamilton Jr Allan Lee Livingston Steven sperlin hail Allan Wayne brousard Roger Allen goodlet Michael Frederick Mike Kar Manuel rendez when it came time to write the story in a concise way for this Monument here for anyone who would pass by this cemetery and see this monument and wonder what it was for I knew that all of the thoughts swirling in my head and all that I was caring in my heart for the families and from Jeff Jellison and for this community I knew there was only one way that I would be able to condense all of that into a story that would be beautiful and concise and that was to give it to my husband to concisely present and so he will read what he wrote on this Monument the title is no longer forgotten this Monument marks the final resting place for the innocent Souls who lost their lives at Fox Hollow Farm this hallowed Memorial is in their honor as well as the honor of their family and friends who heroically live on the symbolism of the sculpture limestone is a native to Indiana and represents the Earth that held the scattered pieces of the lives that were lost the pronounced fracture in the middle of the Magnificent Stone and the light that fills the fracture represents a deep and seemingly seemingly irreparable Brokenness now filled and made whole again by light and the power of God's healing Justice comes when what was lost is found when what was hidden in the darkness is brought into the fullness of the light Isaiah 588 then your light will break forth like the Dawn and your healing will quickly appear then your righteousness will go before you and the glory of the Lord will be your rear guard it is the hope of all involved that the placement of this monument and the dignity and the honor it gives to both the lives known to th to those who and to those who remain unknown that healing can begin healing in closure for those lost healing in dignity for those who knew them and live on and the healing of the honor of all of those who worked tireless TIR tirelessly for decades on their behalf the inspiration and desire for memorializing the victim came from the heart of Jeff jalis the Hamilton County coroner who has worked for decades to bring honor to the tragedy the monument is donated by he knows your name Ministries and the sculpture artist is David pet just want to share a little bit more about my vision for this Monument I really felt inspired from the Holy Spirit to have the Monument made out of limestone because I knew that was native to Indiana and it came from the ground and then the fractures I think are obvious and I know that God can only bring healing through his light and his love and so I literally Googled those things and this is what came up and the Canadian artist David pet created this and he had his own intentions behind his creation and when he delivered it on August 19th he came he drove from Ontario picked it up at the gallery from St Edward Island and drove it here himself taking so much ownership of its transport its arrival safely and the installation of it I'm so thankful to fler banon who prepared the property here for on this site for this Monument so that it can be lit up but David pet is an artist and an incredibly brilliant man came here humbly and was so honored that I chose his peace to be what represents this tragedy and now glory and he said to me I had intentions for what this means to me and he explained that to me and then he said but I Surrender my intention to your intention and unselfishly he said I now take a back seat to what this Monument means here and I thought as an artist and a creative man that was very very generous I'm so thankful I got to meet him he was so honored to stand here at this cemetery and see the final resting place which is what he said he said my Monument lives on here in Indiana so I am so thankful for David paret for all that he did to contribute we'll just close our time with a brief prayer please stay linger talk with one another share stories and just enjoy your time together because this has been so sacred and holy Andrew would you come close in prayer Lord thank you for this beautiful day to be together thank you for the lives that we're able to remember today thank you for everybody here that took time to put honor towards these men thank you for this Monument to mark them and remember them I pray that we would be near to you as we go forward today we pray that you'd bring healing and hope to the families and
