College Spotlight: Babson College

[Music] [Music] hello everybody and welcome to Babson College we are located just 10 miles outside of uh downtown Boston in be beautiful Welsley Massachusetts so Babson is really designed for the entrepreneurial students so its focus and its sole focus is on business so there's about 2500 undergraduate students who attend here this institution is highly selective uh it only has about a 20% admissions rate so they really focus on seeing if uh business is for you and how your transcript lines up with um those interests so oop sorry about that just wanted to everybody to be able to see the campus a little bit so um all students uh will graduate here with a BS and business administration but they can choose from 24 different concentrations um and they actually don't even need to um they don't even need to choose a concentration and they can just really do more General business administration this is a very handson institution they have a first year required class called uh FME which stands for Foundations of Management and Entrepreneurship this class is taught by two professors and it gives both an entrepreneurial side as well as um operations um the operations Focus so Babson has been rated the number one college for entrepreneurship for several years so um certainly if this is something you know that you want to do and you know it now you want to look into Babson so uh 98% of its student base uh were placed within uh 6 months of graduation uh with an average salary of about $78,000 a year so they admit about 700 students every uh year so it's a highly selective institution and they need to show that they're interested in business even if they haven't necessarily taken any business classes in college that that's fine they really focus more on looking at the transcript uh do you have a pre-calculus um Foundation because you would need to at least have enrolled in pre-calculus in order to even be consider for admitted there's a super high uh International presence here 30% of all students here are international so um that really provides a more Global Perspective to business and they also really uh spend a lot of their resources on um study abroad as well so the application process is need blind so no students need to worry about um whether or not they can uh if they're going to be reviewed based on their need for financial aid because bapson meets 100% of students uh NE demonstrated need so that makes it really a great opportunity so what about social life on campus there is a social life it is a D3 school with 20 Varsity Sports um they they also have a robust Greek life it is only three fraternities and three sororities but it's 20% of the campus but it really is very lowkey and if you decide to do something else and not join nobody's going to feel excluded at all so uh the majority of students live on campus for all four years mainly because Welsley is a suburb and it's a very wealthy suburb of that so they want to make it um they want to make it open to all students who uh might want to live on campus and so they so they definitely do that so um if you are interested in Business and Entrepreneurship fapson might be the place for you if you want to learn more about all the opportunities the school has has to offer be sure to contact us at custom College Consulting and I'll be sure to tell you all about it take care for now [Music] [Music] [Music]
