going into the Orioles Hall of Fame with this organization the history The Players everything about the word Orioles is you know it's something to be proud of it's an honor um like I said the elite group of players broadcasters coaches that are inducted into the Hall of Fame it's uh it's definitely an honor to be part of it you always played hard I know you played hard for the fans but you mentioned them a lot in your speech today what do the fans of Baltimore mean to Nick Mar Kus everything uh that's what it's all about you know uh I was talking in my speech a little bit at the luncheon about you know the amount of people that uh involve a baseball team and an organization and to have uh you know the people that are in this organization to uh take care of you the way they take care of you is uh you know it's it's it's definitely something special and it's uh it's an honor to be part of when you first came back with the Braves in 2015 before you ripped a double left field you had one of those classic standing ovations from the fans did you know how much you meant to the fans here before that moment um you know that kind of brought it to light um sometimes I guess you don't realize what you have until it's gone and uh when I was gone missing the fans was a big part um you know I tell a lot of people Baltimore is football and baseball and that's it and their uh commitment and dedication to Sports in Baltimore is above and beyond any other place that I've ever been and uh you know I'm happy to be a part of it what does it mean to go in with your former hating coach Terry Crowley um I don't think you know besides maybe Jonesy and a couple other guys there's no other person that I'd rather go in with uh you know he is the person who made me the hitter that I am today a lot of his uh hard work and dedication was uh a part a big part of my success and uh to be able to go in with him and uh get the recogn recogn recognition that he deserves um you know it's Priceless you and Adam played together more in the same Outfield more than any other duo in Orioles history it's not even close tell me about that relationship and when I say the name Adam Jones what it means to you H it means a a lot you know I did a podcast with Jonesy and they asked me the same question just you know coming up in tough times in an organization at a young age we uh we bonded well together um you know we were kind of both in the same situation um but uh to be able to do it with this organization and uh the fan base and everybody that you know was involved in it made things a lot easier and uh be able to play next to Jonesy for what was it 8 years um you know he made it easy to play on the play in the Outfield um you know I knew what he could get to he he knew what I could get to we communicated well together I don't think the whole in our whole career we had one run in and out there um you know that's just a testament of getting to know each other really well and uh being on the same page a lot of the time
