Joined once again by meteorologist Corey Smith for a look at the forecast. Corey. I know heat finally dissipating a little bit but not quite too much. Huh? Yeah, we have to wait, I think until Tuesday, Wednesday, some gorgeous weather for this time of the year. It hasn't been bad at all. It's been enjoyable. Yeah. Not too bad. And it's been sunny so a little bit hot but still not getting in the way of weekend plans. Let's talk about tonight though because the chance of maybe some storms here across the mid south. Take a look outside right now. We did it up to 95 in Memphis State. It's a little bit above average for this time of the year as you go tomorrow. Likely only staying in the eighties. So, what to expect as we head in this next week, we're sunny. No rain chances past this evening. And we're gonna talk about that because maybe the chance of some isolated thunderstorms in the very southern portion of the viewing area tonight, humidity drops. So after today, below average high temperatures as well as you get into the middle of the week, we do have that severe thunderstorm watch that's gonna be in place for Phillips County and Coahoma County until 10 p.m. I think the severe threat between now and about 8 to 9 p.m. though, as these storms in Arkansas continue to work to the south and east. In fact, uh, this one cell just south of I 40 here, we're gonna have to watch for Phillips County. It looks like it's a little bit more south than east right now, but could clip Phillips County, I think within the next hour and an hour and a half here something we'll keep an eye on there. But the threats with any of those storms and at least those two counties tonight are gonna be gusty winds and hail. Uh, we can't rule out at least, uh, some ping pong ball size hail with these storms. A lot of heat energy to work with and of course, some pretty heavy rain with any storms that do form. But if you are in the Memphis Metro, we should be quiet for tonight. You can see that on our hour by hour forecast. Our model keeps the storms well out of the Memphis Metro. It's really just Phillips in Coahoma County where we see any chances of rain as we head into the overnight hours, we are clear temperatures, low seventies to start off your Monday morning. And then as we get into the afternoon, we're mostly sunny once again and temperatures a little bit cooler. Than today. So we'll probably be peaking in the middle to upper eighties tomorrow afternoon for most of us feeling pretty nice to start off your work week here in the mid south and really just the start of a couple of days of pretty nice weather on the way. So for the bus stop for the kids in the morning, 72 degrees, mostly sunny skies right around midday, recess time, 83 and as they're heading home in the afternoon, right around 87 to 88. So definitely warm but not as hot as what we were saying last week as you go forward, take a look at D here because uh the dew point is getting so low on our forecast model even uh breaking the scale here, the bar not showing up on Tuesday. So this is some pretty dry air for this week. We're not talking about any humid conditions at all here in the mid south. And the reason for that, a cold front moving through today and that's why we do have that chance of some isolated storms in the southern mid south. But high pressure is moving in over the next couple of days. That's gonna keep us sunny and dry as we go into tomorrow. And then overall temperatures below average for this time of year going through the middle of the week. Now, I can see this high starting to move off to the east as it does our winds do start to return to the south towards the end of the week. So that means our temperatures start to get back into the low nineties once again, but we're not talking about anything too crazy heat wise. So 88 it'll be your high temperature for tomorrow. Mostly sunny skies, partly cloudy. 85 absolutely gorgeous. Tuesday and Wednesday try to get outside if you can. We're up to 88 on Thursday, partly cloudy on your Friday 91 and looks like we're in the low nineties but dry as we head into next weekend.
