angle. now show yeah, let's get off of the then head to the skies where we have a gorgeous Thursday. It's been really place that the dip in temperatures. I'm just here for it day in day out. But it changes are as we take that live view from enzyme peak, you're going to see hazy conditions. So wildfire smoke is moving into northern Utah. It started last night. It's progressed through the day. >> And it's impacting air quality. I want to show you our futurecast smoke model because as we zoom in, you're able to see the dense smoke right now towards Cache Valley and the northwestern corner of the state near Park Valley, extending down into will account as we put this into motion. You're going to watch as that figure plume of smoke heads further south over I-80 into Cash Valley along the northern Wasatch Front and into Salt Lake County. By tomorrow morning. Smoke will be plaguing us through our Friday and will linger into some spots as we head into Thursday. We do have elevated particulate matter. Right now. Box elder county and to will county as a result of that thicker smoke. Also, ozone levels are high right now, which is one moderate air has popped up heading into tomorrow, moderate air for the Wasatch Front and back. But we also anticipate some unhealthy air for sensitive groups in Davis and sadly county. So if you feel those weather changes, you know, that smoke is moving in and maybe tighter chess. 20 eyes is one of those things that can happen. Moderate air also due to ozone for tomorrow, by view from our black desert sky cam that such a pretty shot. I didn't hit 100. We're going to hang out near the triple digits as we head towards Labor Day weekend in southern Utah. Meanwhile, or northwest flow in northern Utah has allowed for numbers to be a few degrees below average today. But dry skies are out there and it's been pretty nice temperature wise with all that Sunshine, 70's and 80's. We've got 70's and Ogden in Logan, 80 in Provo, 81 in Salt Lake 80's and 90's on the eastern side of the state. So the cooler air not impacting the southern half of Utah as we see average temperatures. 98 in Saint George. We anticipated that with that front the weekend. Really not making it down to the South 80's, turning to 70's and eventually 60's are hazy and smoke-filled skies will hold on as we get through the overnight and into our Friday with talk about dry conditions since Monday, the beginning of the workweek and today is Thursday with our newest drought standings out. As we take a look, you see a lot of yellow that yellow indicates abnormally dry conditions. We're seeing that in 90% of Utah. But we know that we also see healthy soil moisture. August is one of our driest months of the year. Statistically speaking, we also have that moderate drought see that tan and I are county in the West Desert, only 5% of Utah seeing that moderate drought. And that has not changed since last week's wouldn't budge on that. Look at the August precipitation calendar for Salt Lake. You can see monsoon rains coming in. The 12th and 13th really delivering. But we kind of turned off the spigot in Salt Lake, the 19th and haven't picked up measure moisture since August. Almost double. What we typically see in the way of precipitation sitting at 1.0, 1, 5, inches. This month as we head toward September September, we've got a ridge of high pressure in the Western Great Basin. It's on the move. So our warming trend kicks off tomorrow and it will hold through Labor Day weekend, which going to notice is the position of the high could allow for an influx of moisture in the way of cloud cover in southern Utah tomorrow. Isolated storm Saturday and the chance of a storm holds on and gradually increases Sunday into Monday for parts of the state. We're going to watch it closely. It's just a slight chance right now. If you're heading out about hope you have a good weekend. Here's a look at those temperatures for Park City as we see the 80's Moab Lake Powell can app against southern Utah specially higher elevations will see some storms taking a look at the regional forecast. We've got 80's 100's in southern Utah where you're going to be dealing with isolated storm Saturday. Slight chance Sunday numbers hanging out towards the century. Mark, here's the Wasatch Front Smoke and then the 90's with isolated storms
