certainly not ideal and I think probably the the overarching storyline that a lot of Browns fans were interested coming into the day was more who's going to be quarterback number three you know you feel pretty good about if everybody's healthy and and occupying the roles they should this is desa's team and jamus is is here to be the uh you know be the backup in case of emergency um but you need depth at that position because gosh just look back 10 months ago 12 months ago I mean it's it's exactly the reason why you have to be ready no matter where you on the depth chart uh and and I don't want to like overplay the battle for backup to the backup but you know there's something to be said for those are the kinds of things in preseason football that get decided uh and I at times I actually felt like maybe Tyler Huntley was a little bit better than DTR just watching the game but as things progressed by the end of the game I think most people would probably tell you that DTR ended up having a better night I don't know you make a decision only on today no but in that in that vein I think DTR played better yeah I I think that's probably fair and I wrote about that actually over at Cleveland Bron ons that my sort of instant reaction as the game ended was the battle between those two to for me Brendan I think it was about like the process and how the offense seemed to function with DTR out there versus Huntley I'm not saying Huntley did a bad job that that opening drive of the first the second half rather he basically tried to replicate what DTR did on his first try he got him down in the Red Zone had a chance to get some points there and then he just throws an awful interception over over the head of of his tight end and gets taken back like we said to the to the eight yard line on the other side and kind of you know derails that entire drive so I I I think or maybe after that drive you couldn't really tell the difference but I think his time went on it just seemed like things flowed a little bit better with DTR running the show rather than than hle yeah and I would add too like both of them had spurts of really good like when when Huntley started the second half big chunk play to start the get him down into uh into the red area and you're driving you're doing you're you're off to a really good start in that second half and then that that Dagger of an interception which like you said Spence nobody to blame but the quarterback that's just a terribly inaccurate throw and then on the flip side I thought Dorian right you come out you have a great long drive I thought he was awesome showed some Poise that fourth down throw to Jamari thrash right you fit it right in the window and thrash had a nice tough catch thought that was awesome you lead a touchdown drive and then you come back and and they were kind of just sputtering that whole first half and really sucks in the these scenarios when you know you only have a half and your last play was an interception that if he was just five Ines U more out in front of the guy that's a that's a catch and you're in the red area driving on a 90 yard to minute drill instead he misses him a little bit on the back it bounces up in the air and it's picked off just one of those unfortunate ones that unfortunately he can't wash for another week what are you gonna do
