with the fans chanting buddy buddy 2017 milville high school graduate buddy Kennedy Drew this ninth inning walk to help the Phillies beat the Tampa Bay Rays 2-1 Monday [Applause] night Sur Real was it to hear your hear the whole crowd CH that was that was definitely different um obviously growing up obviously a Phillies fan obviously being on the fan side of it right and chatting All My Life um and then being in the Box I was calm and collected um when I got in there and then when I heard the bloody chance I was like okay dude you just got to relax and and let it all you know just be in the moment and you know obviously do your job but it was something you know very special and I'll always remember that for the rest of my life is it hard not to swing out of your shoes in a moment like that yes and no yes yes and no I just I actually faced Clevenger um just earlier this year with the Tigers so um I kind of knew what how he pitched me um so was trying to you know see something El see something elevated try to you know put a good swing on it I took a good swing on the I think it was 3 or 3-1 pitch um and then yeah just trying to be very selective try to get on base and then uh pass it that to the next guy when you when you draw the walk what kind of goes what's going through your head at that point yeah like it's kind of like a like a victory win right it's like you just you did your job but you helped the team you passed the bat to the next guy and then obviously Cody came up did his thing um you know when I got you know top set it it's your it's your time um you know I just try to be calm cool Collective um you know just let the moment happen do my job the best I could and uh luckily it all went all went well what does it mean you to sort of put your mark you know contribute to a win you've been up here a couple days now but to actually get in and contribute yeah you know it it feels really good um you know just obviously I know my role you know what I'm called on I'll do the best I can so you know even in U practice you know doing extra reps uh doing everything I can to stay ready when obviously called on and uh you know just keep it calm relax and enjoy the moment and do the best I can do you have any family here tonight no I actually didn't there's actually nobody here tonight uh my fiance stayed home she was a little sick uh my mom and dad they stayed home as well um actually no one is here because I actually had my old uh my old baseball coach from high school he came uh with one of his buddies so that was pretty cool and then obviously a couple people from around the area came to the game so my phone was I got some texts from some people and they sent me the video they have B so that was pretty cool there was a walkoff the first night you were here with the with the Phillies so I think this is your second you grew up a fan so what's it like experiencing a walk-off as a player on the Phillies oh it's it's it's actually it's insane it's like a party it's like a little party on the field um obviously from the St fan standpoint you're just like you're cheering you're excited they won and then at down here you know on the field it's like yeah it's a win but it's like huge party and everybody's you know so excited and you know Harper came to me after and you know all the guys said you know D just a great B you did your job and you know I passed the bat to Cody and you know he came through and I was so excited and you know it was just a moment that you can never can never take back or right so who were you on your feet Champion for when you came here as a fan oh when I uh it was around 2008 so I would say like Ryan Howard Chase hutley um Jason worth Pat Pearl Brad L when he came in obviously um so yeah just all them guys you know that was a great group back then obviously they won the World Series obviously and uh you know it was it was pretty cool back then and now doing it the obviously in the Batters box and you know contributing to the win is is huge were any of those texts from Mike Trout do you expect text from M yeah I'll probably get something for him either tomorrow he's he's definitely going to see it and he'll be like oh let's go so I definitely uh some of the guys from the the hunting club that we hunt at uh definitely texted me so it was pretty cool and yeah I'll definitely either Miche will reach out to me or I'll hit him up and say yeah would you watch it great thank thank
