I know that uh Death Valley is there's there's nothing like it um and and no matter how hard you prepare for this environment uh when it's actually here it's Saturday night and those lights come on and people have been tailgating all day long and it's time to play football uh that place it's [Music] different you're obviously entering your fourth season with LSU so what are you most excited for heading into the fall I mean you know obviously uh most people who know my story know that I haven't had an opportunity yet uh you know to be the starter um and so for me you know I'm looking forward to getting the opportunity to go out there and you know lead and be with my teammates uh you know really just get to play the game that I love uh so that's really what I'm most looking forward to is just being out there uh and getting to play football right college football fans and I've heard players are very excited for the debut of this new playoff format um so when it comes to the 12 team setup do you see this helping teams that wouldn't have normally competed for the title the way the format was before or how what's your uh take on the 12 team setup yeah I think it's it's it's great for the game um I think it grows you know the competitiveness um and the intensity um I think it'll allow you know really cool matchups that uh we might not have ever got to see if this didn't happen you know it might be a Penn State and LSU night game in Death Valley it's something that would never happen before or it's a you know Oregon in a Texas game there are just things that you know so many different matchups and in different fan bases clashing together that you know probably could have never happened so I think uh it's definitely great for the game and I think it's going to be really really cool to see that I know um Brian Kelly I've heard him uh being a tough coach so what's been your experience with him and what have also you learned playing under him I've learned a lot from coach Kelly um you know obviously you know he's he's very hard in his players but uh he does it from a place of Love um and he has that relationship with us to where you know he's able to do it um you know I've really enjoyed you know my my last couple years here with coach Kelly just you know getting to know him even more um and you know our relationship growing you know as time went on and um you know it's important for a quarterback to have a good relationship with the head coach um and so you know I feel like know I can talk to him about whatever you know is going on and you know he'll listen and and he'll give me the right advice and he's always coaching us he's always trying to help us get better so I'm super blessed to have coach Kelly right I want to talk about two of your former teammates first one Jaden Daniels he was just announced as Washington's QV one in the NFL and you've watched him for a while now so could you kind of tell us what Washington's getting with this guy and also what do you think he's going to bring to the commanders yeah uh they're getting a playmaker uh it's somebody who when the lights come on you know he turns into a different person uh you know I learned a lot from you know sitting behind Jaden um you know just learning how he leads and and does different things and how how to go about your daily process as a pro and that's what Jaden is you know he's a br um he's been that way since he was here and I think it's really going to help him Excel uh at the next level you know I think Washington fans can be very excited uh for what Jaden's going to be able to do great Malik neighbors decided to go to the NFL this season do you ever wish he kind of stuck around so yall could have connected yeah yeah that's my boy uh we were in the same class together uh coming out of high school um and so you know I've known Malik for a really long time uh it's one of my brothers who love him to death and uh yeah of course I wish he was still here uh to an extent you know um but you know I got to sit back and watch him you know and and it was his time then and I got you know it's beards in rot form um and I'm so I'm super excited for him super proud of him and everything he's been able to accomplish and I'm really really excited to also you know get to watch him this year looking at the Tiger schedule this fall Oklahoma is going to be playing at Death Valley at the end of November now U's QB says that he's really excited about facing off against the Tigers and he even said a little bit that the fans would go quite if you did score so do you know what you're getting into man yeah I mean I love Jackson uh Jackson's one of my guys um and so you know I know hey it's a competitive sport um you know things are going to be said um you know I know that uh Death Valley is there's there's nothing like it um and and no matter how hard you prepare for this environment uh when it's actually here it's Saturday night those lights come on and people have been tailgating all day long and it's time to play football that place it's different um there's nothing really that you can describe it by there's nothing really that you can you know fake it or or Tred to recreate it you know there's it's one of its own uh and you will only realize that once you experience it I'm really excited uh to officially announc that I'm working with power eight um and it's been a it's been a dream come true to get to you know rep a brand of such you know no responsibility I guess you could say and and to represent you know a national brand like Power Aid it's my first national commercial uh so you know I'm super excited um and I can't wait to see the final product you're in a commercial man you're acting skills are they top tier be honest with yourself yeah they're all right we'll see we'll see I think I think everybody will like it I hope so we'll see hey sports fans if you want to see more conversations with athletes and stars
