our quarterbacks you know when they went in there and obviously the 10 straight drives to score was a big deal and defense shutting them out it got a lot of kids playing our kids that played I thought they played well we've got some things to fix but nice crowd here uh just a lot a lot of fun good night you jumped on him early you didn't give him any room to breathe right off the bat you scored on every possession um how important was it early to come out and play well from the opening kickoff well the way we had been practicing we you know we won the toss and we took the ball so uh we obviously felt confidence in uh in our offense and I told told the kids I said hey we're going to we're going to take the football which we don't do a lot but it was time and uh the guys went down there responded and kept responding but uh it was a lot of fun to jump on a m and then we had a three and out and then we went back and scored again and and uh I don't know if they I think their first first down was a penalty on us and uh so those are some things we have to clean up but to answer your question very very big to start fast like we did and that was the plan and sometimes it doesn't work out but tonight it did well as you might imagine there are going to be plenty of highlights when you have 10 possessions and you score 10 touchdowns there are lots of highlights to watch when the but hard to argue with 49 to nothing on the scoreboard there sure were lots of highlights they all looked good I mean just from the get-go I got to mention before we backtrack that run right before the end of the half there what about that well I told Bobby that was one hell of a call where he called it tailing gets flushed out and he runs 36 yards for a touchdown uh you know there was so many guys that played so well offensively and defensively and I thought niiko davier showed out a little bit uh in the first half and of course offensively you had the jinon Jackson the ton green man we made some really good catches tonight I mean really good catches I thought our backs ran extremely hard but probably the Highlight was offensive line Tor green and jined Jackson in that first half I was going to ask you about that offensive line you've got some guys on there who've played but they've not started a whole lot of ball games I think you had three that were making their first career starts and they they all played well they did and they played together there wasn't a whole lot of missed assignments now I'll watch tape and figure it out but there wasn't a whole lot of Miss assignments I thought that they played exem extremely hard that's what we ask them to do and I thought as a team as well on offense I thought they played together well I think that starts up front to if Malachi can play and KJ Jackson and the backup left tackle and the backup so uh so once you go out there I told Bobby let's just run our regular offense and let's see what happens we got to find out about these guys we got to build confidence in these guys and boy Malachi should have a lot of confidence cuz he not only threw the ball well he made some nice runs as well so uh really happy for him I thought the line protected him well and then defensively I mean we got a lot of guys in the game that we needed to see and some of them were new guys out of the portal and uh so it couldn't have worked out a whole lot better for us in that second half uh Chuck than what it did you had a lot of guys on defense flying around obviously you had a lot of players get in on tackles too I was looking at the tackle totals after the game lots of people were around I can't remember how many different guys so that usually doesn't happen uh but you know was it was cool to see a Wyatt Simmons and you know uh Brad Shaw and some of them guys get in there cuz we know they're good players but they've worked 25 practices they deserve to play too if you get to this situation and so we did have a lot of made a decision to come play for the Razer backs you were at Utah talk a little bit about that and what led you Arkansas uh when I hit the when I hit the portal the next day they called me like out my sleep so like once I answer the phone it was like Hey University of Arkansas hey we need a back I'm like okay like let's get it set up well you were a little bit closer to home you're a Texas native you started at the University of Texas did that have some appeal coming back to this part of the country I wanted to be a little closer to home for for for my last year so well congratulations man huge you know Oklahoma State's a potential playoff team you know went to the Big 12 championship game last year have 18 starters coming back have an incredible team and we go to still water which is very hard place to play um we'll we'll get ready for them we've got two out the last 3 days next 3 days that we're off uh we'll get health and healed up ready to roll and and go over there and have fun you used that word confidence a minute ago there there's no substitute for that as you prepare there really isn't and I we've got it right now and that along with confidence becomes harder work it really does and we just need to have a great week of practice we know got a top 15 team in the country we're going to go play we'll be excited for it and as as they will too coach good to be with you
