Cleveland Weather: Turning the heat up

Try it again. We have this double header today. So uh there, there we're fine. It's just gonna be warm, muggy. Uh definitely feeling kind of nasty out there but about to turn the heat up a little bit, aren't we just even even more? So, yeah, if you think today is hot, it's gonna be even hotter as we get into tomorrow. And uh part of the week ahead, we're gonna watch the heat in the humidity as well. So that heat index is what we're really gonna watch as we go through the week. So our temperatures and heat index pretty close right now. Uh eighties for the most part, upper eighties, we've got some areas of that heat index in the nineties, but a lot of that heat and humidity together is just off to our west. They've got that heat index over triple digits out towards Saint Louis, Omaha, towards Minneapolis as well. So we're gonna see that pushing our way as we get into tomorrow. So we've had not a ton of heat to deal with in the past couple of weeks. Uh, temperature is only 89 a couple of weeks ago. So we haven't had nineties for quite a while. We did have that nice round of fall like temperatures and then now we kind of get that heat to kick back then reminding us that, hey, we're not done with summer just yet. 88 degrees right now for Cleveland, uh winds, uh not enough that it's really gonna give any kind of relief due points are in the sixties so that heat humidity will be with us if you have plans for the Guardian's game plans for the evening, do what you can to stay cool out there. We do not have much in terms of showers or storms that have popped up, so no relief there. We're just gonna sit with the heat as we go through the evening. Even into the overnight, we're not gonna get too much relief from that heat. We've got heat advisories, heat alerts that stretch from our western most counties, all of western Ohio and really stretching all the way back to the plains and these are the areas that are gonna be dealing with the heat and humidity as we go through the next few days here. We've got this, uh, really dome of heat and humidity that stretches all the way up into Canada. So it's gonna be a little while before we see this exiting and see some closer to average temperatures returning to our forecast. So in the meantime, really prepare for that week of heat and humidity heading our way, we're gonna keep those temperatures above average all the way through, at least Friday at this point. And the thing is too, we're not really going to cool off as we go through the overnight hours. So we're not gonna get any relief. We will see those temperatures falling through the seventies, a low seventies for most of us. First thing tomorrow morning. So it's already very warm first thing tomorrow morning and then as we go through the day, we're gonna have more heat in place, more humidity as well. So that heat index, what it's actually going to feel like is the big thing for tomorrow. That's why we have an impact alert day for tomorrow with the heat index close to 90 by lunchtime, you're already feeling that. And then as we get into the afternoon, it continues to get even hotter and even more humid heat index is gonna be close to triple digits during that prime heating time through the afternoon, early evening hours. A lot of schools are back in session. So that heat index, one of the reasons why we do have a lot of school closings, uh scrolling on the bottom of your screen so that heat and humidity together is gonna be our main concern during the day tomorrow. I think if we see any kind of shower or storm pop up, it's gonna be very minimal through the day. But we're gonna watch tomorrow night for a round of showers and storms to move in National Design, right hour by hour forecast, we're gonna look closer to midnight. So, really through the overnight hours and very early into Wednesday morning for shower storms to move in, some of those could have some very heavy downpours and some gusty winds and notice temperatures ahead of this rain still in the eighties. So that's gonna be a lot of fuel for those showers and storms. We do get a little bit of briefly rain cool there, but it's not gonna help us out too much. As far as the rest of the week is concerned. We're gonna keep that heat and humidity around Union Home Mortgage seven day outlook. Temperature is gonna stay well above average mid eighties. Even close to 90 as we get into Wednesday, Thursday and Friday with the heat and humidity. We'll keep at least that chance for showers and storms in the forecast for each day. We see some improvement in our skies on Saturday and that's also when we get some relief from that heat heading into Labor Day weekend. Jake. Ok, Jessica, thank you very much. We appreciate it.
