why is she kissing an alien on stage Britney Spears reacts to Sabrina Carpenter's VMA performance and she has so many questions one day after the espresso singer brought the house down with her performance at the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards the Pop Princess posts a video message to fans on Instagram and she wants to know why Sabrina decided to smooch an extraterrestrial which she totally did Britney says in her vid okay so did you guys watch the um VMAs I didn't watch the VMAs but I did see stuff on my uh phone from YouTube of Sabrina Carpenter why is she kissing a alien on stage during the show Sabrina belted out a medley of hits off her short and sweet album including please please please taste and espresso and it was during that middle portion of the set where Sabrina played the bridge to Britney's Oops I did it again as an astronaut and blue alien joined her in an apparent homage to Britney and Christina Aguilera famously kissing Madonna at the award show back in 2003 but while admires Sabrina's creativity she's still wondering if the throwback connection made sense I adore her I love her to death I didn't understand that part um why didn't she kiss a girl like that was weird um but I also thought that uh like the whole thing was kind of like Weird Al together despite her confusion the singer goes on to praise Sabrina and is super stoked that the star gave her a shout out at the event event she said my name on the red carpet and I thought that was kind of cool cuz I forget I'm famous sometimes um I'm Mom I'm kind of old but I thought it was kind of cool the Sabrina girl Carpenter she was like she said something by she I was like thanks that's cool she made me cool okay maybe not Sabrina walked away with more than an out of this world kiss she won the award for s of the year for espresso and was nominated for five other Awards including artist of the year and Britney got another tribute via vma's host Megan the stallion who at one point rocked a snake and a lookalike outfit which paid homage to Britney Spear's Unforgettable python performance in 2001 [Music]
