today's breakfast. >> All right. >> Let's continue our coverage here of the Democratic National Convention. And we turn to our political reporter, Greg Lee, who is live now on the convention floor in Chicago with a look ahead at tonight's lineup. Greg >> Alex, good afternoon to you. This is where all the excitement happens. Program got underway about 30 minutes ago. And there's a little bit of musical interlude tonight that is ahead. As you said, a former president Barack Obama's comments also tonight, a ceremonial roll call to celebrate the formal nomination of Vice President Kamala Harris, one of the people who will be here for that roll call. San Francisco mayor, London Breed. Mayor, thank you so much for being here. What does this moment mean for you? For the Bay area? >> Well, it's been really hard to put into words because just being here, the energy, excitement, I mean, you have the grandsons of former President Jimmy Carter and the former President Kennedy's grandsons here talking about supporting Kamala Harris along with so many people from states around the country. This is really amazing. It's inspiring and California, I've never sat in the front row at the DNC. California is front and center. People from all over the state, Congress folks and people who are just here for the excitement. It is so meaningful and so exciting, and I want this energy to carry us to victory in November. So I'm just fired up and ready to go. >> No question. This moment is historic. What does Kamala Harris mean? Not only to California, but to the world? >> Well, what this means especially I mean, we never had a woman president. And to think about what this could mean. But also this is one of the most qualified and capable candidates we've had for president in a very long time. And we are grateful for the work that she's done with President Biden to really lead. And she's ready. And this means a good direction for our country. It means reproductive freedoms. It means good paying jobs. And I mean, you see, the cost of living going up and the things that she will focus on will matter to everyday people and the quality of life of everyday people, and putting housing on center stage, that is something I'm excited about. She knows all too well. As someone who's a part of the Bay area and part of San Francisco, the challenges that exist with housing production, and so I love the fact that she's community, but she's also global, and her relationships and her understanding of what this means and what she needs to do to lead this country. I asked you earlier, and I want to also give you another chance to respond. >> Former President Trump has been name checking San Francisco quite a bit, saying that Kamala Harris is a radical liberal from San Francisco and that she ruined the city. What do you say in response to that? >> Well, what I would say is we have to fact check everything that Donald Trump says, because often what comes out of his mouth isn't true. We know what San Francisco is, especially as people who live there. And yes, like other major cities, we've been through challenging times. But with our outsized personality, people are always pointing to examples. We're still the AI capital of the world. We're still the place for innovation and creativity. People are still talking about us because we're one of the best cities in the world. So San Francisco is something that something better than what people are talking about, and people are finding out for themselves when they visit our city. And we are just excited to put San Francisco front and center here in Chicago so that people get a little taste of what our city is. It's magic. >> San Francisco Mayor London Breed can't thank you enough for the time. I hope you enjoy the rest of your time here, ma'am. Thank you. Thank you once again, Governor Gavin Newsom will represent California, deliver remarks tonight as he delivers nearly 500 delegates to Kamala Harris. And as we were saying, in terms of Counterprogramming, former president Trump, JD Vance, both on the road in Michigan and Wisconsin today live in Chicago. Greg Lee, KTVU, Fox two news guys. >> All right, Greg, we appreciate hearing from Mayor Breed there in Chicago. Thank you for that. Actually, before you before we let you go, Greg, let's talk about the issue of timing. Last night's program, it was way behind schedule. President Biden's speech, it ran well past midnight on the East Coast. What is the discussion on the ground there in Chicago among event organizers about kind of what went wrong last night and how they keep things on track tonight? >> Yeah, Alex, it certainly was a late night, and it was almost as if it was built for West Coast stations because it wrapped up at 930 Pacific time, which is incredibly late for the East Coast stations. And here in Chicago, they had a long list of speakers that they needed to get to. And they in fact delayed or just didn't have certain speakers go on because of that timing. So today we understand there is a concerted effort to keep things moving. There are fewer speakers on this schedule to ensure speakers get the amount of time that they want. And I can tell you, just watching this program against the schedule that we have, things are movin
