JFK: Wilborn “Bill” Hampton

Bill Hampton was the news director of kbox on November 22nd 1963 and was in the kbox studio around 12:30 p.m. when the news broke about the assassination of JFK Hampton rushed to the Parkland Hospital from the kbox studio and was the first voice on the radio to report the final rights of the Catholic church had been administered to the president Hampton retired in 1964 he is only mentioned in the Warren Commission volumes but in the statement given by another radio personality named Russell Moore Moore's statement discussed that bill Hampton handled the recording contribution of kbox and as well United Press International Moore had listened to the original tape made at the time of the assassination and stated no shots are audible Moore didn't know the location of the original tapes and believes they were either lost or stolen he stated Bill Hampton may have the information regarding the tapes since this matter was handled by him
