Toby Keith passes away Toby Keith passed away after a brave fight with cancer over two years for the first time since his passing his family shared their feelings with Keith's millions of fans as his daughter-in-law and Son posted touching tributes on social media Keith had a very special connection with Haley who married his son Steen back in 2021 his diagnosis came just one month before their wedding on an episode of Katie and Company podcast Toby shared he was once worried about not being able to make it to steal in Haley's wedding after finding out about the cancer especially since he agreed to walk Haley down the aisle and Haley Keiths tribute my son was getting married and his wife didn't have a father and she had asked my son Steen if I'd walk her down the aisle and I said sure and now I'm a month away from that I'm thinking I'm might not even make it that point I didn't know you know when you get diagnosed you just freak this meant the world to Haley and she honored him with an emotional tribute after he passed away and she wrote I'll never have the right words to say Toby was larger than life at home and on stage it's a complete honor to be his daughter-in-law he took me in as his own and I'll forever be grateful for that he touched the lives of so many and I'm blessed to be one of those she ended her post by thanking everyone for keeping her and the rest of Toby's family in their prayers during this difficult time Steen Keiths tribute Keith's son Steen also penned a beautiful tribute to Keith calling him his guiding star his coach and his hero you are the strongest man I have ever known a fighter a true Titan of your industry my guiding star my coach my hero an embodiment of the American Spirit you are a man whose strength prowess and talent could only be trumped by his ability to be a father and husband your impact is forever stamped on the world and on millions of people yet not one person knew you the way I did you were my biggest champion and The Guiding Light In My Darkest times the best Mentor a man could ask for you held a passion that was greater than mountains and it radiates through every lyric and chord in the Everlasting Echo from the legacy of your music you leave me strength and Faith to lean on in the silence that follows you truly did it your way from the starting gates to the finish line and never apologize for it the only thing I truly ever wanted in life was to make you proud I promise I will continue to make you proud it's not goodbye forever it's just goodbye for now I love you Cowboy I have added the links to the two posts in the comments section in case you want to pay your respects to Toby Keith there Toby raised three beautiful children with his wife Trisha their marriage of 40 years through all its ups and downs is an inspiration to all more on that on the link on the left sending Trisha and her family love strength and heartfelt condolences rest in peace big dog
