Michael dude this one's weird PS5 this drive is selling out after PS5 Pro announcement why man M inside game I get the PS5 Pro doesn't come we'll get into it PS5 disc drive is selling out online retailers after the reveal of PS5 Pro just the other day it was made clear that in order to get a disc drive for the new console you'd have to purchase the external drive since then as spotted online by Wario 64 the prepare for all has been selling out everywhere as of writing the drive is number eight on Amazon's best sellers for video games on Best Buy's website you can't even order the drive anymore as it's currently sold out it is still available on sites like Target Walmart and PS direct the external PS5 Drive was made available when the PS5 slim consoles were announced and released in 2023 moving forward it seems clear that it if you want to play phys physical media on your consoles you'll have to buy an add-on rather than having a default option currently at retailers it's $80 plus a price tag of $700 us for a PS5 Pro brutal Michael dude I'm All Digital I am not going to buy a disc drive I'd rather buy more more uh hard drive space that's what I want yeah that's the that's the bigger one right is the hard drive space is how you know how many games can you put on how long can you go before you have to uninstall a game that's always an issue that I've had in the past with stuff like Xbox like all right do I still play this game all right let's uninstall it so yeah I have heard a lot of people say that the PS5 Pro Target at those sort of Sony Fanboys they might have a lot of physical games so it's like well if I want to play this upgraded game I got to have the disc drive also you know spread it out a little bit right that to go with 800 at once you go $80 down $700 later I know math doesn't really work like that but at least it kind of feels better on the credit card statement you spread it out but yeah I'm with you I'm more of a digital guy through and through I think it's just easier I know the days of popping open the uh game case put in the disc in those are still legendary moments I think for anybody who grew up in the 2000s of just popping the game open yeah exactly the instruction manual so I have a sof thought for that I actually had when I picked up college football they had the when they had the sale offer that I got my Xbox you had to buy the physical copy so it was kind of nice to still have that physical copy but for I'm with you for the most part giving the digital game I don't want to have to Fumble with discs I want to be able to move my console anybody with an old school console remembers you move it with the disc in that disc is washed so I enjoyed the the mobility there as well but it is funny this PS5 Pro is just going to have a lot of news for the next few months through and the fact they're selling out disc drives absolutely hilarious to be yeah know I I laughed dude when I saw this I heard scalpers 2 is another thing that's coming in and sweeping up all of the PS5 disc drives so that they can sell you at a higher price later which is just unfortunate to think of but it is with the kind of the tech in the world we're in but it's dude I'm All Digital I do not want to get up put in another disc in then yet I know a lot of people still love that physical right at this point I just rather collect my figures I have behind me and then instead of working on a disc but I don't know we'll see PS5 Pro is not that far away
