AFL 2024 Final: Dogs vs Hawks Review

let's look at the matchup between the Bulldogs and hathon this week it's going to be a beauty and I love the matchup in the middle everyone's talking about the small defense of Hawthorne the the tools of the Bulldogs but the midfield for me is the most exciting matchup of this this first week of the finals so I've got them circled there but I'll go to the next clip and I'll show you why so great matchup war and tror amazing matchup Nukem and lior both read the hands off the Rocks really really well but this is round eight this is the last time they met that's day I would replace day with con Nash why well he's 198 cm and he can match up really well with the bond so this is I'll go through a few plays um just this is first a bounce of the game in round eight Bulldogs on a tear to start with if you remember they kic I think they kicked the first three goals and ha just couldn't get near it but he just so big and powerful a great Midfield that's Bond and then they put Richards in there to create pace and then Dylan Moore goes in there to create pace for Hawthorne this is why it's a great match up in the Midfield so um this is this is one of the plays that they love to do the Bulldogs so they start tror or bont and they slide this way and then they try and get English to punch it Forward he does IT band thrs as well and then the the guy here is in this in this situation lior d off they love this play and they they did this several times in this game so watch tror in the blocking position comes over so it's almost like a a defensive triangle and then watch English he just hits it forward and runs onto it so really good setup this situation same again they try to do but hawthor was on it this is the in this situation um English doesn't get his hands on to it meat and that's don't you know I'm talking about the midfields what about that matchup brilliant matchup me and English and then they get on to imp I love imp comes off the back him and Amon and you got Dem Bros on the wing really good off the line this is what I'm talking about Connor um Connor Nash you see the bont set up here great position as a sweeper inside now Hawthorne's going this way this is the first goal of the game actually round eight and you see Conor Nash comes over to him he creates he's on Richards he creates a two onone just gets in the way just that big bulk big body uses his hands really well great snap by gunson and then Conan Ash again so the rock drill is going to be really important especially around the ground and they love this space the hws whether it's that that or whether it's on this side but Kan as he's such a big body just comes in tall athletic really creative around now this is what I was saying about the Bulldogs love to hit when when they forward a center going this way English loves to hit it forward this is where Richards comes into play and this is where Dylan Moore comes into play for Hawthorne but they love to get they love to get on the on the go bang here's Richard's here they love this get it out in space use their wheels get it moving forward bont comes over to support I love that sort of set play now this is last play here this is what I was talking about so you have chalor that don't get onto this one but chalor comes this way and then you have a Bulldogs player running forward this is a play that they really love this is one that Hawthorne's going to be really mindful of what the bont he's trying to get into this position so English can hit it Forward he doesn't get onto it and then you see tror comes from basically the blocker position and wraps around they don't get onto it but this is something that the Bulldogs love doing love I'm looking forward to this match up especially in the Midfield this week
