I was diagnosed at age 3 with autism he's 23 years now so we're 20 years into this journey when he was first diagnosed it was like you know we thought the world was crumbling you know I remember the internet was in its infancy and I'm they were doing Google searches what is autism this sort of thing let me find him that penny has but it's not something to be sorry for it's just a different kind of life every family every child every household there's no one-size-fits-all as you can see here everybody has their own differences and everybody is different these guys here have a lot of expertise and they can look at the child and assess where he is on the spectrum he or she and what the unique needs are and they will they will formulate tailor-made programs for your child but they actually arranged you have the entire summit Center is dedicated to us so he had his own private instructor and two lifeguards helping out and the entire pulled himself for about six months so he could get used to everything he can swim now which we never thought he was going to be able to do it's so fun I love it here like I've been coming here for past three years or so and I absolutely love it all the people you get to me you get to do it's really fun I learned many things about being the workplace being responsible as an adult and this will help me to get a job he delivers Go Bag flyers around our neighborhood and he will not walk in anybody's line if he goes up and he puts it either in the mailbox or he'll put them on there their doorknob the staff at the I just decided about me by helping me make lots of goals and trying to make me the better person I am repent it's sort of a judgment-free zone very inclusive things like that for myself I like that a lot a question there's always someone willing to answer a question for me and I'll be back quickly people here help me realize that you know different is is not necessarily bad it's just different and you have to adjust and I always like to use the analogy it's like you're the whole family is on a plane go in Florida and the plane doesn't doesn't land in Orlando it goes off the beat Passover lands in Arkansas and you're there for two weeks what do you do so you got to realize you need to put things in place to keep the child happy and occupied and focused this place means a lot because it's helped us you know become better parents to Harry and to get him engaged more in activities which keeps him happy and I kept I them fulfilled so it's all about keeping him at because when he's happy we're happy [Music] you
