heavy rainfall will be moving into the maritimes on Friday and continuing into Saturday we have a pretty strong subtropical low that's moving up from the Carolinas impacting primarily the Atlantic coast of Nova Scotia but depending on how far this low moves northward New Brunswick will be impacted pretty heavily as well let's take a closer look at the maritimes this moves in in the overnight hours early Saturday morning getting into the Bay of Fundy with heavy rainfall rates Yarmouth area Halifax you'll get into that heavier pocket of rain around that 10 11:00 in the morning frederickton as well now again this all depends how far low how far north the low pushes that will decide how much rain new brunsw gets the models aren't in complete agreement we'll see how this pans out over the next 12 hours now Halifax this is the 4 a.m. hour we're starting to see those rainfall rates increase they're 6:00 a.m. the airport getting into that almost 5 millimeters an hour and then we get into the heaviest pocket around that 11:00 a.m. noon hour where we're getting up to about that 10 millimet an hour so this is heavy rainfall this is risk of flooding especially down by the water Dartmouth hering Cove and then that will depart by around that 11:00 p.m. hour so Sunday is looking all right for the mar times but not before we get through quite substantial rainfall amount 75 plus millimeters in the Halifax area as we head out from Halifax we're going to see about that 50 to 75 and 30 to 50 across Cape Breton uh Kentville towards St John as well charlot Town 20 to 30 and wind gusts are going to be picking up quite substantially about 75 km an hour oh [Music] [Music]
