what's up Raider Nation silver and black attack coming at you again with another video and today the Las Vegas Raiders have gone out and signed Leon Chason defensive end from the Jacksonville Jaguars who played four three seasons with the Jaguars from 2020 to 2023 with Tyreek Wilson being hurt in the last game on the first drive and then Malcolm coun going out with injury as well before the season started who's fallen on IR now out for four weeks I think this is a good pickup for the Raiders on the DN side you know to help Max Crosby a little bit Charles Snowden played pretty well got some pressure in uh on the first few drives of the Charger game but we recapped the Charger game already and if you clicked on that video you know that the defense is not the problem you know I think signing Chason is great he played 17 games last year had only two sacks and only 13 tackles in 17 games played back in 2021 he started eight games had 31 combined tackles 20 solo tackles and only one sack so this is a guy who doesn't really get much pressure on the ball I think he's only had two pass deflections in his whole career and has only had five sacks in a four-year career with the Jacksonville Jaguars so I mean it's not ideal but with the injuries that we had we definitely needed someone on the defensive end you know aside from Max Crosby and Charles Snowden uh because Tyreek Wilson was supposed to be that you know that left end side side but going down with injury we we really needed someone to fill that void and chayon is a national champion from LSU was drafted with the 20th pick in the first round of the NFL draft by the Jacksonville Jaguars didn't see a lot of playing time in 22 only played nine games and in 23 um you know 22 struggled with the knee injury and was placed on IR think this is a guy that really helps you know the defensive line out and hopefully will'll be able to get some pressure struggled with torn ACL in college and then did not even do that then struggled with an then struggled with a knee injury in the NFL as well in 2022 so if he can stay healthy hopefully he'll have a breakout year he is Young he's only 25 years old 6'3 245 but I think the thing about the Raiders is you know this is a great signing but the Raiders definitely need quarterback a quarterback is the only way this team's going to win I think adding a defensive end is good because they need bodies Tyre is hurt Malcolm Coons is hurt and on IR so they need bodies on defense but the defense is not the problem and we know this Raiders need a quarterback if they want to win Raider Nation silver and black attack signing off
