That's according to new poll numbers just released by a Democratic strategy group showing Harris 14 points ahead. >> I'm excited. >> And it's also also a testament of the work that's happening in Miami-Dade County. >> Shevrin Jones Democratic Party chair, says momentum is growing. >> Vice President Harris is speaking to the success that her and President Biden has done over the last four years. >> I think people are sick of the back and forth. I think they are sick of the MAGA extremism and people are looking for candidates who want to get back to governing. >> I don't think that there is a double digit lead in Dade County. I'm here for Jim Mooney, your state representative. >> We're canvassing for candidates in the Redlands Friday. >> When it comes to what South Floridians, all of us in Miami-Dade are feeling and experiencing and how the Biden-Harris administration has been culpable for a lot of this, I think you're going to see things really start to even up Miami-Dade County is Florida's most populous, with more registered Democrats, but things have been shifting. >> Trump lost to Hillary Clinton here in 2016. By 30 points, but in 2020, he lost to Biden only by seven. >> And in the 2022 governor's race, Rhonda Santos flipped it red. In your studies, though, these voters in Westchester don't see that changing. >> It's imposble. I think that the most people in Miami in Miami-Dade are unhappy and you can see the big support for Donald Trump. >> This voter says the only real poll happens on Election Day. >> The polls reflect something that is happening at the moment. There's a lot of enthusiasm with her at the moment, but we have to wait until the last moment. >> So does this mean that Florida could be in play as a swing state again? >> Predictably, Democrats say they're hopeful, but Republicans say no way we're in Westchester. >> I'm Janine Stanwood, local ten news.
