IVAN DEMIDOV'S FIRST KHL GAME WAS AMAZING + MORE CANADIENS NEWS: LANE HUTSON, PATRIK LAINE

[Applause] I'm going to be honest with y'all I don't know what kind of video I want this to be I want to talk about prospects I want to talk about guys on the Montreal Canadians and I feel like the best way to do that at this point at least is to just go over all the different things in a shorter more sporadic kind of video style there are so many topics to talk about from Lane hunson to Ivan demidov to all the other names in between that we're just going to have to go at it here here starting out with the conversation that I wanted to bring up on Ivan demidov from earlier today or not today but yesterday this tweet was made by The Hobby tun on September 5th So Yesterday even but we had ourselves Ivan demidov's KHL debut with ska St Petersburg and I say debut as if he's never played with the team before but if you head over to what he had accomplished in the very first game of ska season you could see it right there on the screen one game one assist he was on the ice for two of his team's goals and he had 14 minutes of time on Ice playing on a line with guini ketov so you know what man I feel like nature is kind of healing everybody we are seeing a young player an 18-year-old guy in the KHL be given pretty significant minutes as a rookie and as a top prospect sure if you go over to this game right here demid Dov had 14 minutes and 2 seconds time on nice if you sort by oh no that's metallog Magneto gor if you go over to ska players you'll see that demidov did not have like the most time on the ice there were so many names above him in terms of minutes but the fact that he wasn't down here at the bottom he didn't get three he didn't get four he didn't get 5 minutes time on Ice he had 14 if that ends up being the norm here I think a lot of Canadians fans are going to be super excited and super satisfied even if he never attains the 19 18 17 minute Mark in some of these games if he just rounds himself out as a 14 15minute guy then okay great and that's not even to discredit the idea that says that Ivan demidov might just be able to work himself up and give the coaching staff Roman Rottenberg more confidence in him so that by the time the season is over maybe he is in that 19 is minute territory for ska St Petersburg forwards obviously like the guys up here 22 23 minutes like their defenseman Nikita zit is out here these guys play more because there are fewer demon who play in a game but for Ivan demidov he is certainly a guy who has given some opportunities here and I think everybody's going to be excited to see that now if you wanted to talk about the game at hand the habitant did tweet this out one primary assist for demidov one point three shots one hit one takeaway 14 minutes time on Ice he had the H he had the highest average skating speed amongst all players and he had the highest Puck control distance amongst all players despite the limited ice time now I didn't even realize that puck control distance was something that was a trackable stat but I guess if you wanted to go out there and use it hey guess who had the puck on their stick while skating for the longest amount of distance in this game for ska St Petersburg it was Ivan demidov the guy had the puck on his stick and I don't have the Clips in front of me here it's copyrighted KHL material just watching some of the highlights from Ivan demidov even beyond the assist that he got this is a guy who's just able to tango at the best level in Russia there was a moment where he was trying to break into the offensive zone where he passed the puck to himself off the boards to get around a Defender and those are the kinds of things where it's like how do you even think of that who thinks of that only the most 3D chess kind of big brained hockey players are going to be thinking about stuff like that and Ivan demidov definitely displayed that and more in his first full KHL game this season now whether or not the point per game stint is going to continue as his season goes on hopefully it does hopefully he does end off the year with 68 points in 68 games played although I do think he will take some time off for the world juniors and stuff like that is Russia even allowed in the world juniors never mind scratch that I just said that either way we had ourselves some demid stuff to go over with and I mean people are already meing about this too NH HL Insider 67 said Matt V michkov with ska St Petersburg in his draft plus one year had zero points deid do with ska in the first per perod of his draft plus one year has one point Mish kov in his draft minus one year with ska he gets a goal in his first game so obviously people are taking this as an opportunity to troll even hadti I mean had is not trolling here but they went out there and said this Demi do on the ice for both of his teams goals through 20 minutes in his KHL debut things you love to see that there also were a few other things that I wanted to talk about in this video regarding guys that are already on the Montreal Canadian yeah hard segue I know but I didn't want to fill up 8 minutes just talking about demidov's first game let's go out there and talk about Patrick l because there's been a lot of hype for this guy heading into the new year and rightfully so I mean take a look at this video clip posted of the informal practice and the scrimmage that they had take a look at that pass the Puck's coming across and Patty Lon oh my goodness the onetime option right there Far Side top Corner the video is like chopped up I'm just kind of skimming through it here but when you watch this shot it is so effortless what Patrick Li is able to do and I think just having that option alongside of Cole Coffield either on the same power play or on two different Power plays is really going to open the Montreal Canadians offense up in the best way possible could the Canadians have two 30 goal scorers this year could they have a 40 goal scor this year it's very well possible and Patrick l fully healthy fully locked in and ready to go I mean look if he does it I will be so so excited now other than Patrick Li I also wanted to talk about other guys who will be making an impact in the NHL this upcoming year because Lane Hudson had himself a really interesting past few days this was a video clip of Logan Mayu Lane Hudson Matt rampe and dolliver dorski all shooting for the camera during the NHL's rookie showcase and you could see the camera guy at the top of the faceoff Circle right there he's taken these low shots these guys my use coming in taking a shot on goal it's pretty interesting nice to see the NHL rookies going out there and doing some good marketing and look they even had themselves Lane Hudson standing next to Matt rempe in the rookie showcase promotional picture there's mlin celebrini there's cutter goce there are a few other guys there too Will Smith but Hudson and rempe yeah definitely not cut from the same cloth there rempe is a monster standing over Lane Hudson but all nhlpa rookie showcase talk aside I wanted to talk about one of these things regarding Hudson because he actually was included on a list recently this was published by Scott wheeler and Harmon Dale on the athletic earlier yesterday it was ranking the NHL's top 20 cder Trophy candidates for 20242 25 I'll leave a link in the description if you want to go ahead and read this article yourself the promo tweet says this our annual cder trophy ranking and preview number one mattre mishk kov number two celebrini number three Logan stankoven and then there's 4 to 20 with some honorable mentions thrown in there too Lane Hudson for your information is fifth overall and to Hudson's credit wheeler and Dale do write in the piece that if the munra Canadians didn't have a bunch of other young rookie Defenders potentially making the team and Mayu and reinbacher maybe it would be a lot easier for Hudson to get minutes and therefore it would be easier to rank them higher on the list but they do write in the article that because there are some other defensemen that will be making their debut and will be having some opportunities to show forth Lane Hudson drops a little bit in the ranking because of that but it's not necessarily because his talent is necessarily inferior so Hudson is ranked as fifth overall on the Athletics cder trophy ranking I want want you to let me know your thoughts in the comments section below how do you feel about that assessment is Hudson maybe a better lock for the CER than a stankoven or a mlin Cabrini or maybe even a mat michkov is he number one there are 20 names of course so you can go ahead and read the article if you want to see the analysis done on each of them but thoughts in the comment section below about Lane Hudson and the cder rankings as well as some of the nhlpa rookie showcase stuff that we had seen what are your thoughts on the Ivan demidov debut in the Ka and what are your thoughts on Patty freaking L coming in here and displaying his goal scoring ability in some of these extra behindth scenes videos let me know your thoughts in the comment section below about all these M Canadian stories I hope you enjoyed this v99 and bye
