Queen Elizabeth II Memorial set to stand at St James' Palace

[Music] we're absolutely delighted to learn that the memorial for the lake Queen is going to be here in St James's Park which is abs absolutely at the Grand zero of the history of the monarchy it's a place that's easy to visit people can get to it and create an opportunity where one is near important places in public life I often envisage St James's Park as being the front garden to the Queen the front garden of Buckingham Palace it's also the place which saw the end of the monarchy and then the the Revival of the monarchy in the 17th centures I think it's also very poignant that both the Queen's parents queen Eliz the queen mother and her father King George I 6 are both memorialized just on the other side of the M from us here it is somewhere that feels totally resonant of the place of the monarchy and in this case the Monarch in National Life and knowing that Queen was so passionate about gardening and so passionate about nature I think those sit so well in a memorial coming to this very spot the location and this announcement is really exciting it marks a milestone in the work of the committee it's now going to build up a lot of momentum from here and we're really looking forward to going forward from this point the final design for the monument will be unveiled in 2026 to coincide with what would have been her late Majesty's 100th first the year [Music]
