Tennessee Titans SURPRISE Starting Lineup Revealed By ESPN Before NFL Training Camp | Titans Rumors

Intro [Music] welcome into Titans today Tom Downey here we're taking a look at ESPN's Insider roster SL lineup rankings and a bunch of other information as part of that they ranked all 32 teams NFL rosters Tennessee checked in by the way at number 24 they have projected lineups the top strength weaknesses X Factor nonstarter to watch we'll break down all of that for you plus what I think ESPN got wrong in that article but we are in a comment battle this month against Bengals breakdown we are at the very bottom of the list if if we're going to be honest here so everyone spam T in the comments section and see if we can't catch up to the Bengals so first up the Strengths biggest strength ESPN Cs on the Titans roster is it wide receiver and oh how the turntables at least to a certain extent Tennessee has overhauled the wide receiver room this off season and that's what Mike Clay went with writing quote Tennessee's new look wide receiver room is too good to ignore DeAndre Hopkins is back for his age 32 campaign and he'll now be joined by Calvin Ridley on the perimeter and Tyler Boyd in the slot Hopkins and Boyd ranked Fifth and 13th respectively among NFL wide receivers in catches since 2018 Ridley led the NFL in End Zone targets and scored eight touchdowns with the Jags in 2023 former first round pick Trail Burks offers some upside Off the Bench I'm on board with that selection a big change with how things had been you know the last couple of years and I think it's a good move by Tennessee we spent some time on that you want to maximize will Levis throw assets at wide receiver and the offense line which they did to an extent this off season and not have a Daniel Jones scenario where you don't know how good he actually is let's go to the weakness Weaknesses side that is a linebacker and I I was kind of trying to think of a different spot and you know maybe right side of the offensive line if we want to cheat there but I I at least get where ESPN's coming from here aiz Al Shyer who led the team in defensive snaps last offseason departed for Houston during the off season so Tennessee signed Kenneth Murray Jr a former first round pick who didn't work out for the Chargers as a replacement writes clay that's a downgrade and the death behind him doesn't move the needle much former udfa Jack Gibbons was a serviceable running mate for ALS Shyer last season and the team will need some production from fourth rounder rookie or fourth round rookie Cedric Ray I don't know if it's that bad of a unit frankly um I think there's enough Talent at defensive tackle and corner and I might have gone safety because they're so thin at that spot if I can't cheat and take you know just the right side of the offensive line there but I I do see the vision at least at linebacker Kenneth Murray the instincts aren't always great but if keep him cleaning go make plays you got Jeffrey Simmons Sebastian Joseph day and and a massive human being in tandre sweat I at least get what Tennessee is going for at the inside lback but I see the vision that they have so ESPN obviously not high on the Titans roster this year so I want honest answers where would you rank the Titans roster in the NFL 1 to 32 obviously are your options so go vote the pin comment of today's show The X Factor I'm a little surprised Sneed they went with this one lerus Sneed the corner I feel like the quarterback will Levis was maybe too much of an obvious answer but this is what Seth Walder of ESPN wrote on Sneed Sneed is coming off a season in which he was one of the best corners in the game but quarterback is a Fickle position and you never know exactly what you're going to get from one year to the next there is upside there though if sne chid wer and Roger mccre all maintain the level of play from last year at think solid Trio of Corners Corner can be a bit more fickle than most spots but that often times can come down to schematic results when you see what I would argue as fairly consistent numbers and interceptions pass breakups I think that means that player is not going to be as fickle frankly I don't think putting one of the highest paid players on the roster As an X Factor makes a ton of sense so I'm down to talk sne because I did like that pickup a lot by Tennessee love the the aggression of it I don't know if I'd put X Factor for him though the top nonstarter is Nicholas Fier Pati freier well I have a lot of thoughts on this one um first here's the argument from ESPN's Aaron shatz the Titans line is still in flux so PTI Fier could still line up or still end up the starter at right tackle he had the fifth worst pressure rate allowed in 2022 and lost his job to journeyman Chris hubard last season ESPN still tracked him with an above average pass block win rate 88.6% in his limited time in 2023 if he plays which P Fier shows up here's the thing I don't think he was good last year um that pass block win rate doesn't make any sense to me uh I thought he got beat at at a much much higher clip in the 2023 campaign I didn't I don't really get that uh there's I think that's why he lost his job last year not because he was playing well in this said ah screw it I will say this though I think he starts a right tackle you know there's not a lot of options on that side of the ball I think they're going to give mpf one more shot so do you think that Nicholas Fier will be starting for the Titans at right tackle why for yes and for no get those predictions in for me in the comments section let's talk to projected starters Starters then for Tennessee we'll spend some more time on some spots than others obviously will is going to start a quarterback uh if he didn't that would be a very different conversation and it probably means an injury happened and that's something we don't end up seeing happen hopefully don't end up seeing happening they did put two running backs as the starters I actually appreciate that because you will see a lot of Tony Pard and Taj Spears I think they're going to be a a pretty high-end impact piece uh in terms of how that all plays out I think think that I think that that duo has the upside to be a damn good one in Tennessee the wide receivers are next up here it's it's DeAndre Hopkins cowly now what I want to point out here is I think they put them in order of the impact I might put Ridley over Hopkins and maybe that's you know six of one half a dozen of the other but I do they did go kind of receiver one Hopkins receiver two Ridley then of course Tyler Boyd is your slot receiver that certainly should not surprise anybody at all and those three are going to get a lot of playing time uh at wide receiver no shock tight end either chigo conell I'm a big fan of his game I think he's one of the more underrated players in the NFL because let's be honest National people weren't watching Tennessee last year they weren't very good he's a good tight end though left tackle left guard no surprises here either JC leam Peter scony that is the plan in Tennessee and the goal was that those guys form a decade long plus Duo as studs on the offensive line also as expected Center Lloyd cushenberry nothing crazy from that standpoint the the the I feel good about left tackle left guard Center I don't feel great about the right side of the offensive line which I find noteworthy that the projected starters are Daniel brunskill and Dylan Raiden and I don't think that's right you know Raiden has made the comment he's not working at right tackle right now he they when they hired that staff hey you're going to play Right Guard I kind of want if brunskill just ends up being your sixth offensive lineman your Super Sub backup at left guard Center and Right Guard as needed in the event of injuries I don't think ESPN has Right Guard and right tackle correct in fact they just don't have Raiden in the right spot I think CID Charles makes more sense potentially maybe brunow wins that job but they're going to give chances to those guys Raiden shouldn't be their right tackle I just I don't think that's the the the plan there now maybe he ends up being the backup Right Guard and right tackle that's a scenario but not really working a tackle right now if you guys want more free Titans YouTube videos you have come to the correct spot hit that sub button youtube.com/ tians today for more free Defense videos the defense is I think pretty straightforward here Jeffrey Simmons obviously that dude is so freaking good one of my favorite players in the game Sebastian Joseph day I put these as DTS you there's nose guard five you know base three four defensive end but their interior defensive lineman so potato potato there and then tandre sweat who hopefully gets healthy in time for camp and and is good to go and hit hits the ground running there Edge starters also quite obvious Harold Landry ardan key the depth is a bit of a question mark but that's okay inside linebackers uh Kenneth Murray Jack Givens we spent time on those guys don't need to rehash that there the corners again I they listed as more CB1 CB2 cb3 not outside of nickel guys lerus Sneed Roger McCreary should have wer so again overhauled that spot pretty significantly and then safety I feel good about the starters Amman hooker Elijah molden the depth behind those guys I am anxious about they're one injury away from having a total unknown starting for them at safety So based on what ESPN did how accurate do you think that projected starting lineup is a b c d or F sound off in the comments oh
