parishes in the predicted path are working to get residents prepared for what is next Livingston Parish has started allowing residents to pick up their own sandbags news to's David Hamilton continues our team coverage Livingston Parish has begun prepping for tropical storm Francine officials say preparation goes beyond filling and grabing sandbags recommend the parish residents do the same don't wait until the last minute to try to get your fuel and groceries um because that's when everybody's out and their running out of things so do it now Chris Anderson director of Livingston's emergency preparedness says the Paris new emergency preparedness office provides a better view for authorities when there's an emergency the road cameras the weather currently in the uh in the parish and uh actually GPS locations of our vehicles that are out doing these works the new center will also allow them to monitor weather forecast and power outages it has space for a variety of governmental authorities improving cooperation and along with Parish to respond faster to what the public needs it's vital that the school board sitting here because we may have to activate and use them for shelters so the school board being here in this Center if we have to use a shelter that firsthand person's knowledge and ability to contact their a representative makes things happen a lot faster Parish president Randy delette wants Livingston Parish residents to know they are prepared for whatever the storm may bring citizens of lion Parish will get the emergency services that required whether it's clearing a road so they can get get to a doctor Hospital evacuate go to work whatever it is David Hamilton wbrz News 2
