Downey's Final Score Canadian Football 1989 Week 13

[Music] all right good afternoon everyone um just going to continue my um Downey CFL replay here uh 1989 season I'm in week 13 oh boy I shouldn't be in week 13 I should be finished this project already but uh you know just have other things on the go and you know I I do a a football Time season 2 and those games take a lot longer uh and you know and I I'm actually fairly well along in that one uh this replay I've kind of been on and off over over the year here and I really just need to get back on and finish it off uh the games can be pumped out so quickly right so I even if I'm just doing one game a day um I just need to get back on the horse there and get that get that going anyways let's get going here week 13 uh we'll have a look at week 12 quickly uh Evon uh with the win 57-21 over BC uh so BC with the loss and uh let's see Calvary Calvary with the loss to Toronto who are the other winners here Hamilton beats Winnipeg uh that's a big game there in the East and saskatchwan with a big win over Ottawa Ottawa just sadak this year you know 1989 uh so anyways Evon with the 11 And1 Evon Powerhouse that year uh saskat a 9 and3 BC 74 which is fairly close and in the East Hilton is number one team there and the remainder are just below 500 Toronto 4 and8 wi pick 38 And1 Ottawa 291 interesting season I was looking back just earlier before I started the video and Ottawa actually started out to an incredible start there were 2 and 0 um is that page here yeah week one uh Ottawa Ottawa beats Winnipeg 1912 and then week two Ottawa uh beats Toronto 2423 in a real close one they're 2- 0 and then since then they've lost every game and that's where we stand now Auto walk oh no sorry they did a tie game I'm not sure when that happened but just not looking good for them uh so uh let's get this going here Edmonton Hamilton so 1989 Edmonton just bear with me here while I get the ratings up that is a q Hamilton is an N Edmonton defense M boy what a good defense minus 6 Hamilton is a one H BC BC lined with an N rating saskat one with an oh uh a scotch one is it two defense which is not too great uh BC it's also to defense so they're even there Calgary with an m and a zero defensive rating Ottawa with an i yeah that's pretty bad I with a one rating and Toronto K not so much better than Auto actually the minus one rating for defense and Winnipeg with a J uh and that is a uh zero rating interesting like JK they're all pretty close Ottawa Toronto Winnipeg Ottawa 291 winnig 3 and one and we said Toronto and Toronto 4 and eight so yeah all right make our adjustments here okay just a quick pause there my wife just got home from work and uh just go on to say hi but uh she'll try to be quiet upstairs so you know there's not too much noise anyways let's just uh continue on here uh let's make our adjustments so how does this work again uh we add this right so this becomes an R well that's pretty good uh and then n minus 6 um I'll just keep this aside I'm going to knead it in a second here N - 6 let's just look at scoring chart and nus 6 1 2 3 4 5 6 that's an H an R versus H well okay BC then M N O P PQ I remains an i this becomes an N that stays at K and I this becomes an i i I should have wrote down the home ratings let's look at that again real quickly um 89 season so Edmonton Edmonton where are you uh one and one Hamilton one Z BC minus1 and zero uh scotch one is a z z Calvary z0 Ottawa minus one - one Toronto - one0 Winnipeg - [Music] one0 all right so we add the first number right oh what am I doing actually we don't need the ratings for the away team yeah if I was on the ball and playing this more often I would have this down paddle already and be quicker and and actually what I'll do for future videos is I'll try to have all of this already done and we can just the video will just be rolling the scores and seeing how what's going so what we do is we add add it and we subtract it is that right again if I knew the rules like I should because I played often uh wouldn't run into this issue again so oh are they over here uh okay when ready to mix so let's just uh look at example here so Calgary is the home team and they add the first one and then the second one is they actually subtract that J minus one is I so yeah okay I have to remember that for next time so this becomes an an i rating because you add it and that's this they stay at R because it's a zero uh so these stay the same p and Q because there're zeros and zeros this is add it so you actually subtract it so Auto becomes an H they get worse and you subract this one so subtract negative is a plus m n o and and then H wiip Peg also becomes an H interesting and they K so H might have some blowouts here but might have some close games too so uh all right let's just let's just get this show on the road here let's get this game going uh look got I got both charts here just stret like that nice little coffee stain going there spilled something okay first in West versus first in the East see we'll start with uh Evon on the R rating that's a [Music] 16 16 on the r that's six points May couple field goals there Hamilton on the ey rating oh boy Hamilton on the ey rating as it's two points so maybe they scor a safety or something or maybe they kicked a couple of roues who knows Evon Quarter Two 24 on the r uh another six points Hamilton 54 54 on the eye 54 that's a seven pointer so actually fairly close um we're looking at at halftime Evon Eskimos 12 Hamilton Tai cats nines are only down by three 34 action 25 for Edmonton that's an R 25 another six points I don't know if these are all field goals or if maybe there's some uh some touchdowns without the single who knows hon with the 46 H oh sorry i46 that's another seven so they come within only two points now 3's 18 1816 Evon is the 24 Evon 2 four R 24 that's another six points funny uh I won't well it's 24 points but uh let's see what happens here no I don't think they got it 36 on the eight on the ey chart 36 six points I think edington's won this one that's 24 that's um 14 22 24 22 so actually Hamilton making a game of it making everything sweat a little bit you know with a better rooll maybe on that first quarter you know hon could had that game so interesting uh BC saskat what are we looking at here BC sasot One Sask is 9 and3 BC 74 And1 so this should hopefully be a good close game they're both uh it's p and Q so they're pretty close so BC 52 52 52 we're looking at 10 points and S scotch one oh boy a 12 on the Q 12 one point it's got one with an asterisk ah got to look at the rules again one point with the asterisk resolving games uh yeah blah blah blah uhhuh oh when one star is revealed roll a single D if it's one two or three SC they've scored one point if it's four five or six they score zero okay oh actually they scored nothing that quarter 10 nothing for the Lions for the visitors second quarter action 45 45 on the P chart 45 and that's another seven points the touchdown for the Lions 35 on the Q chart that's seven points also so scotch one gets on the board with a major so at halftime lion 17 the Rider 34e action 36 uh P36 P36 another touchdown yeah DC's is actually playing some good ball 43 under Q 43 that is also a touchdown so after 34s uh 2414 for the Lions 25 for the Lions 25 under P that's six points so actually saskat needs a really good role here to win this game and they get a 53 is it enough 53 under the uh Q 53 is 10 points oh boy where does oh no they they they don't have enough they needed more than that uh so final is BC Lions 14 20 30 Scots one Rough Riders 24 BC with the wi so they dro closer to scatch one interesting big win for BC there on the road all right Cal at Auto off as we saw uh Calgary Calgary Calgary 4 and8 Ottawa 291 this still a big game they need sorry I'm off camera here big time uh this is a big game for for Ottawa they need this one we're in week 13 so they played 13 games they lost 11 in a row their fans are not happy can they pull off a win at home here H to o h to O and yeah it's quite a distance but let's see what happens Cal 25 025 six points for calary aut on the H column with a 65oo 65 H is 10 points I one takes the lead wow there's a glimmer of hope there's a glimmer of hope with the the Riders the Ottawa Rough Riders oh wow 61 for calie 61 on the O rating oh 61 yeah 14 points but right away they're auty fans are brought down to earth they got a 44 44 with the H column 44 uh that's six points so not too bad you know the stamps uh stamps 20 AWA 16 they're only down by four all right Calvary with a 23 23 six points otwa yeah they need some big rolls here and they get a 46 46h only only score a touchdown after 3/4s we're looking at calary 26 Ottawa uh 23 really only down by three okay comes down to fourth quarter here oh but it's over I'll tell you right now 65 on the old column 65 way down here is 17 points calary says all right enough messing around uh we're just gonna we're just gonna take this game under our control Ottawa with an h36 30 where we looking at 36 come on 36 H is six points definitely not enough uh final score we're looking at that's 20 37 37 43 for the stamps and uh 10 2229 so bit of a blowout in the last quarter um yep Auto all with another loss calary with the win calary and uh calary with the win well DC with a win too so calary helping themselves a little bit but they're still in last place in in the U last okay H and K this might be a good game Toronto Winnipeg what are we looking at there Toronto Toronto 4 and8 Winnipeg 38 And1 so um if Winnipeg wins this game they take second place in the east so big aame for them and Toronto Hamilton lost so Toronto with a win could draw closer to first place all right here we go under the K column and we're is going to be on this column here so K 55 wow good roll okay 55 that's only seven points though seven nothing lead Winnipeg what do you got for us 51 51 HH 50 won that is also seven couple touchdowns we tied at seven after a quarter one oh wow 65 K65 14 points that could be the game right there wow look at that 65 also for Winnipeg Winnipeg H but their 65 is only 10 points but they're staying in it they're down by four Toronto third quarter 44 Toronto K 44 it's another touchdown uh Winnipeg 46 40 46 46 and that is what uh J no sorry H 46 H that's seven points still Toronto up by four comes down to the fourth quarter here fourpoint game 36 k36 that's six points all right wi the pig what do you got for us here under the H column oh h64 does this do it for them H 64 seven points I don't think it does if we would have a 65 10 points maybe so our final is Toronto Argonauts um 20 34 wind Big Blue Bombers 21 31 3134 huh it was close if they would have got a
