well well well so I'm your favorite host in the entire world Jordan Harris we got a whole lot to talk about today so hurricanes fans Florida Gator fans sit tight we got a whole bunch of stuff to talk about um first let's go ahead and address the elephant in the room I am not in the typical recording space that I'm usually at I'll make a video later on to explain what's going on why that is we had a big family change so I'll explain all that in a later video that I make but today we're gonna talk about a little bit of everything it's just gonna be a quick recap quick reaction um we'll talk about I've got some notes down here because I just want to make sure I cover everything I can think of so talk about the team in general uh the talent that the hurricanes have we'll talk about cam Ward's performance um we'll focus on the running backs for a little bit then we'll discuss the pass rush we'll talk about the pass blocking that we have on our team um first and second half there was a big difference as far as I I was concerned with the the past rushing um then we talk about Sam Brown Tyler Baron a Royo and then we'll talk about what this means for the hurricanes and what it means for the Florida Gators and then lastly I'll talk about Billy Napier the coach for the Florida Gator so before we get into all that the first name that I want to talk about is maybe one of the most important names when it comes to this particular Game Y going to be like how is that but it's Urban Meer so if you're wondering why I want to talk about Urban Meer if you've been a fan as long as I have and you've watched every hurricanes fan since 2000 yeah since the year 200000 certain games stick out to you certain games you remember you can never forget one of those games is Florida whenever they beat the Hurricanes I don't remember what year it was but we had Randy Shannon as a coach and Urban Meer was the head coach for the Florida Gator they were winning by multiple scores at the end of the game it was the fourth quarter they were leading by multiple scores the game was over it was only a few minutes left a couple minutes left and he was running the score up doing all kind of play action passes and misdirection here and throwing it over there kicking field goals at the end of the game so ever since then I have learned to hate the Florida Gators like I hate them not as much as I dislike the SOS but the gator is my le is my second least favorite team in all of college football so today when the Hurricanes just kept on moving the ball towards the end of the game and they were play action they were throwing it down the field left and right I was all for it I was like pil it on at the end of the game when they took cam Ward out and they brought the backups in and they went ahead and just basically gave the game not gave the game away but they just got got off the gas I was like no man go ahead and pile it on him kick a field goal give us another score just because what Urban Meyer did those years ago I still have not forgot that so anyway let's talk about the Miami Hurricanes team Talent so this is just the first game right so this is just the first game let's not overreact but this is the first year in a long long time that I've watched the hurricanes and I've said I don't know like obviously we have a a we have a bottom like this team is is really really good like you could just look at the talent on this team you can say they're not going to this it's it's some teams you can point at and you say they're just not going to lose to that team plenty of teams you can point at and you say the hurricanes are going to beat them just on Talent alone but with this team it's the first time that I've looked at them and I said I don't know how good they actually could be I watched Georgia earlier like I mentioned last year when I watched Georgia play the level of discipline that they have on their team is unbelievable if our hurricanes can get that level of discipline on every snap I don't know like our talent level I don't know how it competes and how it compares to Georgia or when we watch Alabama I don't know how good they are but watching this hurricanes team I really don't know how good they really can be it looks like the talent that they have is topnotch it really does and then I look at I watch the Florida Gators and again this is the first time where I've looked at the Hurricanes play another team and I've thought this other team was just completely outmatched they outmanned and I could tell the Florida Gators knew that especially like at the beginning of the third quarter the Gators was like yeah this is too much they are too talented they are too good this quarterback is too superb they knew it from this third quarter it's been now I since I'm a hurricanes fan I've been on the other side of that where we play against a team and I'm like yeah they just too much they got too much talent they they just too good for us we can't beat them today and it felt great to be on the other side of that and I kind of think we might be having that me I think the opponents that we play this year might have that mentality multiple times I think we're going to have plenty of teams out of the 12 1 games we play I think we may have five or six games where in the second quarter our opponent is like this team is just too good that's what I saw from the talent that I watched today all right let's move on to talk about cam Ward so I mean he was in in most people's eyes cam Ward was the most sought after transfer not just quarterback just most sought after transfer in college football and the Hurricanes just so happened to land him um everybody was singing his Praises I watched him I watched plenty of tape after we ended up uh courton you know after we was running and chasing after Kim W I was like well let me see what this what all this Hoops about so I did a watched a bunch of tape I was impressed then I watched the spring game and I was like that dude looks really good then after watching this game I swear to you not being a prisoner of the moment I'm not but I can tell you this even if Cam Ward goes and plays terrible the rest of this season he is the most talented quarterback we have ever had at Miami I don't care what you say the most I'm not saying he's the best not saying he's the greatest I'm not saying he's the most accomplished I'm saying he is the most talented quarterback that the hurricanes have ever had ever this dude I think it was the third quarter when he felt that pressure and then he spun out and rolled to his left and he's a right-handed quarterback so had to throw it across his body and he threw it down the field for a touchdown that play was I was like I took a video that and sent it to my brother and I said we have never had a quarterback this talented before for the hurricanes ever so am I impressed absolutely um it's just one game and and it's against the Florida Gator who I don't think is a really good team I really don't think so but the dude is really good and what I like about him more than anything like obviously he's got some Talent he's got a lot of talent obviously he's proven that he has a crazy work ethic I I watched a workout video of him and shador Sanders this off season and his work ethic looked like it was off the charts and that cuz they were getting ready to go he was like I'll stay here another another few hours like let's get let's get back into it then so his work ethic is obviously there but his demeanor I love it um he seems like he's unshakable he seems like if I was on his team I could look at him and be like oh yeah we going to be all right today even when he throws an interception whether he throws an interception or he throws a touchdown he's got the same demeanor I love that I love that about him um yeah the I think Jesse Palmer I think that's who it was was calling the game and he kept using the word nonchalant and that was the same thing that I was thinking because if you watch that first drive you'll see cam Ward running down the field and then he stopped and literally walked off the field when a Defender was running at him I'm like this dude is unshakable like if it was me I'm 63 about 160 lbs they would break me so I would have been jumping out of bounds real quick but he just walked right out nonchalant like it was nothing and then a couple plays later he ran for about 25 yards and when you watch him run down the field you could tell the demeanor just in his body language was saying that he had so much control of everything that was going on around him he was running looking around looking around looking around he's like oh yeah I'm going to go get five more yards and then he saw a Defender coming and jumped out of bounds real quick so his demeanor I love it his skill level I love it his work ethic I love it and the way that he just looks unshakable I'm all I'm a fan huge fan of Cam wart so far let's talk about the running backs uh the running backs concerned me a little bit mainly because I figured Damen Martinez would be the Bell cow of this offense um it is real hard to just say Mark Fletcher is going to take the immediate back seat to somebody because Mark Fletcher had a really good season last year out of nowhere um coming in as a freshman but my thought was that Martinez would come in as the leading running back and he would get probably 90% of the carries is what I thought so in the towards the end of the first quarter they started to mix in Mark Fletcher and then it looked like Mark Fletcher played from the second quarter all the way until like Midway through the fourth or something like that where Mark Fletcher was the lead running back and they just started bringing Martinez back in with about maybe six minutes left in the fourth quarter so that concerned me a little bit um the reason being is because whenever you do bring somebody in uh when he bring a big recruit in the last thing you want to do is now we don't know about the conversations they've had let's put that out there but the last thing you want to do is sell somebody a dream and then have them sit on the bench the whole time and have them disgruntled and tell other potential recruits or potential transfers hey man don't come here because Chris ball is going to tell you one thing and then when the season starts he going to just have you sitting over here looking crazy that's the last thing we want um so that does concern me a little bit it looked like he was running the ball effectively at the beginning of the game and then I figured maybe he's hurt and they just put him on the sidelines so Mark Fletcher can take you know can take over I don't know what happened maybe y'all got a little more insight than I do but it seemed to me like uh Mark Fletcher just took over and Martinez was just disappeared from the lineup for a good while with no explanation I don't know what happened um but Mark Fletcher he did run the ball effectively as well there was one other running back who r and the ball I think he was a freshman ly maybe he seemed pretty small but he was effective too um one thing that did confuse me and if you know more about football than I do then please explain what I was looking at but the running backs first quarter they kept giving the ball to Damen Martinez and it was more of like a stand still blocking like I don't know it looked like they it looked like on running plays the off offensive line was standing straight up and coming backwards almost as if they were pass blocking on run plays it was weird like it looked like they were trying to do like a Zone run scheme like you you know when Aran Foster was playing for the Texans they would use a a Zone run scheme where you just run down the line and then you pick your hole it looked like they were trying to do that but Damien Martinez kept getting the hand off and he would just stand there like for like a whole second he would just stand there behind the offensive line and then he would run left or right or he would get the hand off he would take two steps and put his hand on the back of the center and just stand there for a while and then he would run left or right and I'm thinking I don't know what this is so that had me really concerned let's transition and talk about our blocking pass blocking and run blocking I felt like it was totally different first half compared to second half like I mentioned a little bit ago the past block or like I mentioned earlier it was A Tail of Two Hales to me maybe y'all saw it differently but it looked like Florida they as far as our pass blocking goes we could do just about whatever we wanted to cam wart was just standing back there looking at whatever he wanted to he was painting pictures back there they could not get to him but the Run block our run blocking in the first half just looked bad we couldn't move anybody and then like I said we had Damen Martinez standing behind doing the hand on the back thing I don't know what was going going on with our run blocking in the first half but second half our offensive line looked exceptional they looked really good once again I don't want to I don't want to do too much with this because we're playing against Florida and I really don't think Florida's very good so I don't know what this team would look like against let's say Tennessee or uh even the Texas A&M team we played last year I don't know what our Miami Hurricanes would look like compared to any other team but against this Florida team they look pretty exceptional pass blocking was really impressive run blocking in the second half was really good so I appreciated that for sure let's talk about our past rush now pass rush looked really good it was crazy that we lost hurricane Bane in the first drive um I still haven't got any information on that I don't know what happened but that was horrible to lose hurricane the first drive of the game we'll have to I guess I'll be as soon as I finish with this I'll probably do a quick quick Google search to find out what's going on uh what type of injury he had hopefully he'll be back the next game and he'll be just fine the rest of the season but as far as our pass rush goes Tyler Baron stole the show he's a transfer that we got he stole the show and it's always cool to see people transfer in and then they actually perform um we had had Mees P what's his name Mech po I think Mech Po from Washington he got an interception another transfer that was really cool to see uh I talked about m p quite a bit during the offseason because he was a transfer from a team that played in the championship that kind of experience you can't pass that up man you just can't pass it up so it's really cool to see people transfer and then they do exceptionally well when they come in um so big UPS to Tyler Baron and Big Ups to me as well now let's talk about another transfer Sam Brown um I think the team overall played really really well if I was giving him a grade I'd probably give him an A minus the whole team um you know one of my favorite players of all time at Miami at Miami is Xavier Restrepo I thought he played exceptional he had a crazy catch at the beginning of the game where Cam Ward threw it behind him a little bit he reached back and caught it and if you know anything about football the early plays often dictate what's going to happen going forward if xaviero tipped that ball up and somebody intercepted it and ran it back for a few yards that might have changed the momentum a little bit got the crowd going crazy so the fact that he held on to that that might have been a huge benefit to us going forward but like I said earlier let's talk about Sam Brown I would give him a solid F during this game I thought he played horrible I don't think he played decent I don't think he played bad I don't think he played very bad I think he played terribly solid F not a D minus not a d f he main reason why I say he gets an F he obviously has the talent obviously you can just look at the dude and see he's got the talent but when you don't bring any type of effort and I felt like the entire game he showed a lack of effort multiple times they showed him where he was supposed to be blocking for the running backs he just totally whiffed on blocks he caught a pass from cam ward in the third quarter I believe it was and instead of running to the py to the pylon he did this weird like loafing thing where he was just like jogging to the py line I guess he was expecting the defender momentum to carry him into the end zone but as we say in witch Kansas where I'm from he a little light he a little light in the butt so the defender instead of just Gra grabed him and carried him into the End Zone The Defender grabbed him and like spun him around and he didn't score a touchdown he was like an inch short of it so that was just pitiful uh that effort in that I'm not a coach I'm just a fan but that had me hot my wife thought I was nuts watching that play because he just caught it it was I could have scored that touchdown he caught it he saw a Defender and he just jog into the pylon and the defender snatched him up sput him around and kept us from scored a touchdown on that play uh I think Mark Fletcher scored a touchdown over the top the play after that I think um so yeah Sam Brown got to do better the play where Xavier Restrepo threw him a pass Jesse Palmer kept saying that he was that he he should have caught that cuz he put one hand up it looked like maybe he he could only reach it with one hand I don't know but he gave like a nonchalant effort there too like he just running out one hand up in the air I say at least put two hands up and die for it but he goes in standing straight up put one hand up the ball's a little out in front maybe a little too much but I thought he should have gave more effort on that so I'm down on Sam Brown right now man I I didn't like the effort that I saw from him um we talked about dimples our offensive coordinator a whole lot in the offseason a lot of us was killing him because we like you got to get these tight ends involved more I really wanted to see more pre- snap motion as I always talk about and we didn't get that this time but that's fine we talked about him getting the tight ends involved in the offseason a royal talked about I'm sorry not a royal in the offseason dimples are offseason offensive coordinator he talked about how he was he was like you know the fans been on my head it was a press conference he said the fans been on my head about getting the tight ends involved he's like I'm telling you we'll get that done this season so watching this first game I don't know what kind of numbers a royal had but he was really active I wouldn't be surprised if he ended up somewhere like 60 to 75 yards maybe close to maybe about 80 but see had maybe four catches I'm thinking four catches maybe 70 yards somewhere in there that's what I'm guessing um but it looks like our offensive coordinator is is really focus shaneon Dawson is really focused on getting the D or the tight ends involved which I am too about we got to get these tight ends involved especially when you have tight ends like a royal and then there was another young kid who was really big and they said he ran 20 mil per hour in practice he caught a pass in the fourth quarter he I don't I'm sorry I shouldn't know his name but he looked really impressive too when you have these kind of athletes who are that big strong that tall you got to get them involved a lot of times it demands a double team and then that allows your players like rreo to get wide open on the edge [ __ ] um so let's talk about what this means for the Hurricanes honestly it doesn't mean a lot it just gave us an opportunity to see what the talent looks like it doesn't mean a whole lot um I know a whole lot of y'all are down on my man crystal ball I'm a huge fan of crystal ball I think he has brought a beautiful breath of fresh air to the Hurricanes um but it doesn't mean anything if he goes out in the Hurricanes let lay an egg next week next time we play Then yall going to be back on Mario Chris Ball's head I don't think there's going to be one game that's going to make everybody say oh yeah crystal ball is cool he's good to go I'm G get off his head for now I don't think there's going to be I don't think there's one game that's going to do that for him this year I believe it's going to have to be a full season it's going to have to be the ACC Championship or everybody still going to be on his head but once again I'm a fan I just don't think that this game game is going to do anything it just showed us that we've got crazy Talent everywhere it showed us that Mario chrisal to me it shows that he's got the the he's got the program heading to the right direction if you ask me U but with the BCS being gone you know what I'm saying like there's no more BCS like there was in the early 2000s where every single game counted and at the end of the game they add up a bunch of points and see who's number one and who's number two and they play the championship it's not like that anymore this was not a conference game because right now what really gets you into the tournament is win your conference if you win the conference you go to the tournament so with that being said a lot of these games really won't do too much at the end of the season it's all about winning that conference Championship and if you don't win the conference Championship you can get an at llarge bid which I guess games like this will matter but with Florida playing such a crazy schedule they probably won't win four games this year so this game doesn't do a whole lot for the Hurricanes it just doesn't nothing positive losing this game and then at the end of the season they look at Miami Hurricanes losing to a Florida team that only won three games that would have made us look really bad in sandbagged or uh or ranking so winning it it's one of those situations where winning it does nothing losing it would have just about killed you right so let's talk about what this means for the Florida Gators whom I hate let's talk about what it means for them uh it kind of means they suck again no it it doesn't mean they suck again um it looks like they are it looks like those players that left they left for a reason and it potentially hurt them quite a bit um they seem to be lacking in the defensive line and they seem to be lacking in the offensive line it also almost confirms that Billy Napier is probably going to be done this year I think the only reason why they didn't can Billy nap here in the off season is because they knew this upcoming season they had a crazy schedule that like we've never seen before I think it's November where they play like four teams in the top 12 or something crazy like that so the fact that they've got this unprecedented strength of schedule in November and the rest of the schedule I don't think they wanted to bring a brand new coach in who who they wanted everybody to be excited about and then that new coach goes three and nine I think they were wanting to avoid that so they were like let's go ahead and keep Billy Napier here if he pulls off a miracle and he wins six or seven games maybe we'll keep him but if he does a nose dive like we fully expect this team to do then we'll just make him the scapegoat and say the problem is gone Billy Napier's out but I would be shocked if Billy Napier made it six games gam this season I don't see him last in sixth game so whoever their offensive coordinator is or whoever their defensive coordinator is be ready to have the name interim head coach on your title really soon because he ain't going to make it he's done that's all that I got for y'all today please leave any comments that you have once again I'll I'll um make a video to explain why the heck I'm here instead of at home in my studio so um you could be anywhere in the world you here with me and I truly appreciate that the canes are back it's a wonderful time take care God bless peace
