the Seattle Seahawks uh are a team that I think quietly is going to be pretty good this year now a lot of people are talking about them we're Detroit Lions fans so we know all about the Seattle Seahawks just being a pain in the butt they are a good team and they always give us trouble so the Seattle Seahawks quietly signed uh George holani running back and I want to talk about him briefly because we are going into training camp 90 man roster kind of set now we're going to get that down to 53 and he's an undrafted free agent was signed that you probably didn't notice anything about but he's a running back and and the reason I bring up this guy is because when you think about undrafted free agents there's a a few positions that can translate over to making the roster actually and in running back's one of them because it's there's like the elite guys and then there's a bunch of other guys that's like maybe he can he can do something so really quick on him and what he's all about he goes to a Powerhouse high school he's a fourstar recruit goes to Boise State tears it up in the Mountain West thousand yard rushing 10 total touchdowns as a true freshman and so keep that in mind as a true freshman then injuries Co gets a little weird he rebrands with a strong 20 22 campaign 1,00 yards 10 touchdowns again and he had some injuries once again and this is what's what I I like about when you kind of dive in it's because there's always something not everybody can get drafted but there's always something and in this guy's case case couple injuries just kind of slowed him down it's like okay going undrafted he signed with the Seahawks as a priority free agent basically they really went for him said hey come on he's got options but he chooses the Seattle Seahawks he has a good blend of speed and power love it he can catch the ball he's um he's not really good in pass protection but here's the deal the best case scenario is that he quickly emerges as Seattle's best undrafted rookie back staying out and staying out of the tub holani puts pressure on Macintosh early in Camp showcasing a diverse skill set of a Do-it all back following a pair of excellent preseason outing he makes the final roster and blah blah blah let's look at worst case scenario he has nagging injuries he can't pass block and he's just cut and it's just like there you go if it's not for persistent injury issues that hindered his Productions three out of his five seasons he probably would have heard his name called while he won't be mistaken for Chris Johnson he has quality 4540 yard dash speed at 210 pounds so he's a just again we keep talking about his blend of size and speed so you take that over to the depth chart Kenneth Walker of course Zack shanet it's like Kenny McIntosh I don't know George helani like be be the man here because because you know that in the NFL this running back position one of these two guys guys at some point is going to miss a little bit of time can you keep that two of operation if you have a really good third back that's what you're looking for because again if you look at the roster for the Seattle Seahawks Gino Smith is who he is now and I mean that in a positive way um I hope that doesn't sound negative because it's positive we know who he is he's he's a starting caliber good quarterback that's perfect for what you're paying him the whole thing you're how it affects your salary cap Gino Smith perfect okay we got Gino Smith Kenneth Walker good metf need him to just take that one notch up Tyler locket keeps just producing he's feel like he's 50 years old Jackson Smith and jigo okay you take that next step up offensive line good defense can we Rebound with Mike McDonald and just be good like just be good and then there you go and this team is looking really good and and the reason I bring up George helani is because there's a lot of these types of guys as we enter training camp where you at who you know it's like come on and and by the way let me know in the comments we've asked this on this channel multiple times but it's fun to hear from you Seattle Seahawks fans who is your favorite Seattle Seahawks player and it can't be a super obvious one um I mean like marshan Lynch isn't even he is a kind of a super obvious one because it's like everyone loved him but to me he was the face of the Rebrand Seattle Seahawks back in the the 2012 13 you know that era that you were so good Marshon Lynch was just like that such a big part of that but I love cam Chancellor I thought man he was just so good but man go back even further before that let me know your thoughts in the comments but where I was going with this with this is there the 90 man roster it's going to get dwindled down of course to 53 but that back end of the roster is so important and it's really where teams you find that back end the roster your practice squad players all of it really it just matters it just it just does and if you're a team like Seattle you're the perfect example of a team that look you're not the Chiefs you know you're not the name some of these just like the top tier that can kind of go off of Patrick Mahomes this gets weird and throws touchdowns and you win it's like no we need to be a team an NFL football team top to bottom strong everywhere depth in certain spots do it the right way they can win and they can go to the playoffs and cause problems that's simple simple as that it's not it's not a good enough team to just be like I don't know and not that anybody's really doing that in the NFL but you know what I'm saying so let me know your thoughts in the comments let me know your favorite player one that I'm not thinking of a little sneaky one and we will see all of you on the next one
