SWLA residents enjoy a nice day off after Hurricane Francine's path veers east

for the Lake Charles area it's been kind of like a snow day with no snow and people here are grateful since so many will tell you their PTSD kicks in when they hear the word hurricane KC's terresa Schmidt hid the road early this morning to confirm no news is good news it was a sleepy calm morning for those off work or school many of whom likely slept in some who would normally be at work brought their kids to the park to enjoy the day the grown-ups feel fortunate no hurricane is coming I am kind of enjoying just like the the Cool Breeze it's not too sunny or anything like that but it's not really what what I was expecting I figured we would be kind of hunkered down in the house with storms and heavy winds and stuff you know we're a bleuer city when it comes to hurricanes but um I do feel for our friends to the east as much as we know um how terrible it is but I know Lake Charles and welcome anybody with open arms even the mayor was out catching a little family time by lunchtime more people had ventured out and some decided a beer and a game of pool would be a great way to spend their day hurricane coming in we got sent home today luckily that hurricane is going to miss us but we'll we'll be back to work tomorrow so I took took advantage of being off to come support uh JD who's cooking here today his food's really good and he's celebrating no hurricane here I lost lost my first house in Laura a couple years ago so yeah I've been traveling for work ever since I haven't decided if I wanted to settle back down here these hurricanes but and so it was a mostly quiet day for those thankful to be nowhere near the eye of the storm Teresa Schmidt 7 News ah sigh of relief well hopefully your day was as uneventful as you hoped for
