I've just been thinking about what happened 23 years ago everyone who lost a loved one and everyone that we lost and that is the most important thing about today and everything that happens tonight falls behind that as you can see I am repping team VMA and tonight VMA stands for the voluptuous Megan Awards think about me every night that's me I sing see know [Music] down this is really special uh the first people I want to thank are the fans [Applause] um my Katie cats he stood by me for a lifetime and the LGBT Q Community who I recognize I would not be here without the global impact that water has had on the world just proves that African music can be pop music too this is just so special but also Bitter Sweet because I know there's a tendency to group all African artists under afro beat it's a thing and even though afro beats has run things and has opened so many doors for us African music is so diverse it's more than just afob [Applause] [Music] [Applause] beat something that I'll always remember is that when when I would finish a take and i' and I'd say cut and we'd be done with that take I would always just hear like someone like like cheering and like woo like like from across from across the studio um where we were shooting it and that that one person was my boyfriend Travis [Applause]
