you weren't expecting this seems like Bill Maher can't put up with the act anymore because he pulled apart Kamala Harris's latest CNN interview in a way that we've seldom seen before not just that but there's some vital polls that just came out that I think make Bill Mah's words ring even more true so subscribe to the channel and watch what he said before we dive into it why put her out there it it looked like when when your dad goes with the young woman to help buy a car you know you know when dad comes along I mean why she hadn't done an interview in so long there's or maybe that's the strategy they look like a married couple they look like every interracial couple in every [Applause] commercial maybe that's the uh no but they they messed it up because I'm not they didn't do the Optics right because she looked like she was only 2 feet tall and he was upfront looking like Frosty the Snowman kind failed but I see what they were going for that was harsh but I kind of agree with mcorder about the seating arrangement for the interview looked like they were sitting around a coffee table at a corporate office giving the entire conversation a nonchalant vibe that perhaps they were deliberately going for but there's an even more important aspect to it that a lot of people should be talking about it's not just the short duration of it at just 30 minutes but also how it was sandwiched between kamala's nomination at the DNC and her debate with Donald Trump on September 10th that means that with less than 2 months before the election in November was the Kamala campaign decidedly leaving no room for more interviews with the media the current Democratic ticket already seems to have been pulled together in haste and confusion and none of it is helped by Camala Harris's lack of interaction with the media in any long form interview and there's even some speculation that the original interview with Dana Bash was in fact longer than 30 minutes and some important segments from it may have been cut if it didn't fit neatly into a predetermined image they wanted to portray perhaps that was already clear from the softball questions from Dana Bash to begin with and little to no push back when Camala Harris tried to control the conversation to where she felt more comfortable but even then it was almost like Camala Harris had been told not to say anything remotely controversial which only ended up in a conversation that felt so artificial and an authentic and clearly Tim Walls isn't any better as running mate because a previously obscure figure like him is now suddenly finding himself in the spotlight yet isn't doing much to bolster confidence in the Democratic Base by laying out a specific position and opinions like a thought leader should that only compounded the overall weakness being portrayed which certain doesn't spell great news for the campaign at large perhaps that's why Bill Mah didn't spare Tim Walls either Tim Walls said like the American people I talk like I like they do no you don't no you don't you're a huge liar like all politicians are I don't care by the way I've always said this about politics they're all going to lie they're poit it's what they lie about I don't give a what what you did during the Iraq War you were in the guard so you I don't understand why they just can't you're just just insulting my intelligence when she said uh uh what did you what did you say when Biden called you and said he wasn't running well um I immediately thought of him first no you didn't you know I mean fracking I mean Dana B Dana Bash had her dead to wrs like you said this you I have the quote I'm reading it to you you said there should be a ban on fracking why can't they just go yeah you know what I got it wrong I was talking to wrong people you know she's had like this ridiculously high turnover like like 42 of 47 people as Vice in her Vice are gone just blame it on them you know why these are gone gave me the wrong information on fracking isn't that frustrating after a while Camala Harris after her nomination has become a collection of empty platitudes and the most milk toast opinions on things that Americans deeply care about and it's not just the example with her defending Joe Biden until the last second but a whole slew of positions from the economy to immigration where it's near impossible to see her commit to something I mean just take a look at this exerpt from the CNN interview where Dana Bash asks Kamala Harris a pretty relevant question why was she defending Joe Biden's mental faculties to run the country for another 4 years then switch out so quickly after the Trump Biden debate tell me if you he anything remotely answering this important question in this entire one minute response vice president Harris you were a very staunch defender of President Biden's Capac capacity to serve another four years right after the debate you insisted that President Biden is extraordinarily strong given where we are now do you have any regrets about what you told the American people no not at all not at all I have um served with President Biden um for almost four years now and I'll tell you it's one of the greatest honors of my career truly um he cares so deeply about the American people he is so smart and um and loyal to the American people and I have spent hours upon hours with him be it in the Oval Office or The Situation Room he has the intelligence the commitment and the Judgment um and disposition that I think the American people rightly deserve in their president I don't think it's possible to keep up with this for long because a lack of clarity only seeds the space to your opponent and that too when the opponent is someone like Donald Trump who's very much on the opposite side of the Spectrum by using controversial opinions and statements as a means to remain in the spotlight unfortunately for the Camala Harris campaign that is already translating into lost traction with the young American voters especially with Donald Trump has been on a spree lately doing interviews and podcasts every week polls this week have revealed that Cala Harris has a 14-point lead over Trump among women while Donald Trump has a 17-point lead over the Cala campaign among men and while some people have construed it just one layer deep at as being a man and woman in the race it's actually much deeper this divide is driven between primarily a significant proportion of the men being pulled from the liberal and independent crowd after Joe Biden and then Kamala Harris failed to return or appeal to them here's what the people want to know the people uh Peter why why this is just for you I think we can all talk about it what explains Donald Trump's appeal to young men I saw today that the gender gap I think is the widest I mean it's very predictable I mean the women are much more for kamla and the men are much more for Trump generally but it's it's not predictable if you look at past elections where voters under 30 generally men and women went for Democrats this is remarkable um I think to explain it wait what you're talking about under 30 yeah the under 30 Gap is very different than past elections so in 20 bigger much bigger so in 2020 uh young men and young women voted for Joe Biden at roughly the same rate over the last four years and now with KLA Harris young women are are voting for KLA Harris at that same level if not more uh K Harris has barely moved the needle with young men they have gone uh more toward Trump there's a lot of reasons for that I think Trump has exploited culture War stuff uh you know he's appears on hyper masculine podcasts and he's just seems like a fun bro he's not going to ban your zins you know um that's not going to change unless there's some major course correction that the party makes in its messaging and Communications to Americans but as much as you try to look for it there doesn't seem to be enough time left to do that since we're less than 60 days from the election one CNN interview isn't going to cut it because in times of global volatility like this people need answers and clear policy positions the fact that there's not enough of that means that the desire to be uncontroversial could end up being the campaign's biggest weakness but let me know in the comments how you see it all playing out because we're going to find out a lot of things in the next few short weeks till November
