DORTMUND: Accident driver (19) leaves for Turkey! "Arrest warrant rejected!" Victim (11) deceased!

Let's look at the drama surrounding the accidental death of an 11-year-old in Dortmund. The 19-year-old driver who hit the boy has fled to Turkey. Two weeks ago, the 11-year-old was hit by the car. He died later in hospital. According to investigations, the 19-year-old is said to have been traveling at excessive speed and ignoring a traffic light . The police are now looking for the 19-year-old driver with an arrest warrant. His lawyer stated that the trip to Turkey was a planned vacation lasting several weeks and not an attempt to escape. He shakes his head a little in surprise. Greta Wagener in Dortmund The suspected driver of the death simply says goodbye on a three-week vacation to his home country. What's next now? Well, of course you're still waiting and have good faith that he'll come back. Yesterday I had the opportunity to speak to the public prosecutor's office here in Dortmund on the phone and you once again explained and described exactly how this process was possible. So there was this accident. A few days later, the little boy tragically died. Then there was an arrest warrant that the public prosecutor submitted to the district court. But this was rejected. And because this arrest warrant was rejected, the suspected driver of death is considered a free man and can do whatever he wants. That's what the public prosecutor told me yesterday. The public prosecutor's office then received information that the 19-year-old alleged driver had told his work colleagues that he would now go to Turkey. Then another attempt with an arrest warrant. This was submitted and then approved. But it's stupid that the 19-year-old had already been in Turkey for two days. So the fact that he flew to Turkey cannot be seen as an escape, because he was a free man, so to speak. The arrest warrant hadn't taken effect yet, but now it does. He is in Turkey. The public prosecutor's office has already been in contact with the 19-year-old's lawyer and he said, as he just explained, no, no, it's just a vacation and he'll come on eight-seven, then again on seven-eight and so on So you just have to wait and see whether that's true. But it is clear that the 9-year-old probably has a second citizenship in Turkey, so if he doesn't come back, he wouldn't be extradited. And of course in this tragic case he really had a terrible end. It has to be said again that the 19-year-old was first of all traveling at excessive speed during this trip and secondly that he was also said to have been under drugs. Of course, this all needs to be clarified and it would of course be extremely important to be able to question the main suspect about this first. Because it is also in the room that after this accident he is said to have threatened his passengers - there were two other men in the car - so that no one should give a statement to the police. Of course this was done anyway. Yes, the 15-year-old girl who lost her brother behind me at the traffic light. She remains in hospital and will probably never forget that terrible day. Thank you.
