Jets Release First DEPTH CHART of 2024.

what's going on guys the new yearor Jets have released their first depth chart of the season and as we know uh not anything to overreact to I think they had s Gardner as like a fourth string Corner his rookie year um but here's what they put out so far and let's take a peek so starting on offense they have like three different receivers I'm so we got XZ and Slot here although they don't give those designations pretty easy to tell that's what's going on they have Wilson backed up by Malik Taylor and then the third Stringer Lance McCutchen at one wide receiver spot then here Xavier Gibson um as the primary slot backed up by Malachi Corley and then hamy El zat who is a udfa who actually was pretty heavily featured in the green and white scrimmage with Gibson battling injuries then Alan Lazard the other spot of course Mike Williams is not pictured I guess if there was one note if you wanted to take something away from the wide receiver room um it would be that Jason brownley is like behind Irv Charles other than that I think the wide receiver from makes sense I think when Gibson comes back it'll be Gibson and Corley battling it out um for the most of slot reps then Alan Lazard will be a placeholder until Mike Williams comes back so that makes sense uh tight end they kind of they have two tight end spots listed which makes it a little bit confusing but Jeremy Rucker and Tyler Conlin top two tight ends obviously and then next up are Kenny aboa and Zack Co with Lincoln SE Lincoln sephi udfa like tight end fullback hybrid and then recently signed veteran Anthony ferer at the bottom of the tight end room I think ferer will probably end up leap frogging is at coun and coun and seepi will be more practice squad bound with ferer and yaboa battling it out for that final spot but a constant theme throughout is a guy who has just signed and udfas and rookies are just going to be behind veterans or guys who have been here before which is pretty logical starting offensive line left to right Tyrant Smith John Simpson Joe titman avt Morgan Moses we knew that how nice it is to know you're starting five offensive lineman more than a month out from the season opener they have Olu fashanu as the primary backup left tackle and Max Mitchell ahead of Carter Warren it does seem like Mitchell has been getting more of the first team reps than Carter Warren which uh I'm a little I guess it's not surprising but I would have bet on maybe Carter Warren being a little bit higher than Mitchell uh but that's something they'll have to battle out in the preseason and throughout Camp either way you're hopefully are multiple injuries away from seeing either of them this year this is the the biggest takeaway for me on the offensive line because none of this is really surprising so far uh Jake Hansen and West whiter backup primary guards makes sense Chris Glazer is the primary backup center on this dep chart and he is not He's listed as a guard um throughout his brief NFL career and he played guard and Tackle in college no Center reps um at the pro or Collegian level so maybe it's a typo or maybe because you are wondering in the back of your mind like okay Joe titman uh if the snap issues continue and schwier is more of a guard like do we really have a true like reliable backup center on the roster again I'm not saying I'm panicking over titman but it's it is something thing of know like who would be that guy you'd go to um Chris Glazer maybe obviously Xavier Newman is really a fringe like practice squad level player all due respect and then Leo who's from the udfa uh the who's from the UFL um is buried pretty deep back there with Brady leam the udfa from Arkansas but all the udfas I think are there's a couple udfas we'll get to like on defense that I think are probably realistically higher but just by default they're putting them you know they got to earn their keep it's been a constant with Salah and the the rookies um you know they get put on the back burner until they prove it um okay so quarterback Aaron Rogers Tyrod Taylor and Andrew Peasley brother is gonna see a lot of the preseason man I don't know if Rogers or Tyrod Taylor are going to play in the preseason I don't know if Jordan Travis is gon to be cleared um so Andrew Peasley and Adrien Martinez we're gonna see a lot of them obviously neither one of them will make the roster though uh running back room no surprise here well actually you know what I I will I I think this is worth noting because it goes Bree Hall one brayan Allen 2 Isaiah Davis 3 Izzy four with xaven valer and the like behind him and that's pretty much how you or I would probably have it if we were to draw it up um but you know I don't know man the fact that I he a seconde player even on on this type of release where typically you're going to be at the bottom if you're a rookie and if you have a year or two under year about going to be higher the fact that Allen and Isaiah Davis are already ahead of Izzy I mean if we didn't already have evidence that it was kind of going that way it wouldn't be a big deal but it's just another piece of evidence towards maybe is Banda not being the exact favorite of the coaching staff moving on to the defensive side of the ball uh the starting defensive line right now Germaine Johnson and Michael Clemens on the edge with no reic who they have as a fourth Stringer which is kind of funny was while he holds out um Clemens is the big end kinlaw and quinnon on the interior and then Tac McKinley is listed Tac McKinley and Will McDonald as the primary backup edges okay that makes sense and then the only thing that's interesting to me on the defensive line in the defensive line room is that Eric watts is all the way let's say a four Stringer with Braden McGregor and Jaylen Holmes ahead of him again all the grains of assault but um just going through the information they're giv us that I do think Eric Watts will end up probably making the team but looks like T McKinley is on the short list as well and look guys Michael Clemens is gonna be here I we like surprise cut Michael CL like dude they like Michael Clemens I don't know what to say he's like if we had a game tomorrow he'd be starting um so will McDonald did have a sack today but it looks like for right now he's more of a situational Edge rusher it's going to be interesting to see when reic comes back what that does to McDonald's role but we'll worry about that when we come to it linebacker oh this is kind of weird because they have three linebacker spots even though he primarily start two linebackers but the top three linebackers C.J Mosley Quincy Williams Jamie and Sherwood no shock and then zire Barnes Chaz Sarat and Sam mavin behind them so that totally makes sense they'll probably be five spots so I think I think it'll probably keep the rookie and Z Barnes and it will be Chaz Sarat and Sam aavin the two veteran special teamers battling out for the fifth linebacker spot as a situation I could see that is likely to unfold Corners we know our starters are Michael Carter s Garner DJ Reid they do have stiggers hey again if you're a rookie in your I do think brilon Allen and quantz stiggers being like primary backups it's like all right these kids have shown something you know cats out of the bag a little bit stigger is definitely gonna make the team um stigger is ahead of even JBC who has a year on him um this kid Brandon codrington is name to watch I can't find a spot for him on the 53 but he is getting the second team he and Brandon Eckles are splitting slot Duty with Michael Carter out so that is a skill set that he brings and he's also in the competition for the kick return Duty so Brandon codon is a name to to note definitely at least maybe on the on the practice squad and then safety room is exactly as you'd expect Chu Clark Tony Adams these starters with Ashton Davis and Isaiah Oliver right behind him with uh Mr Irrelevant Jen key and udfa Jaylen jerius Monroe um on the outside looking in oh we got special teams too okay so the kick return per return job uh Xavier Gibson as Robert Salah said it's going to be his job to lose he'll be the he's the incumbent right Isaiah Davis right behind him yeah I'm really starting to think that this Isaiah Davis K was was a special teams they I think they had a role for him right on special teams it was a big part of that that draft pick Corley obviously in there and then codrington who I just mentioned H those seem to be the final four so Izzy is seem to be out of the yeah is he's done man I don't know to tell I to tell you guys he's not even in the competition for the return Duty either so there we have it the Jets first depth chart U oh back to the
