and 70 firefighters battled a major Blaze at a 45 story Block in Flats on Black Wall in East London on Monday thick black smoke was seen belowing from buildings on biscan Avenue with London fire brigade receiving its first emergency call just before 1:30 p.m. local time the fire which broke out on the 25th floor was brought under control by 2:50 p.m. local time now this is the second high-rise fire in East London today following an earlier incident in dagenham it's not yet clear if anyone was injured in the black wall fire and the cause is currently under investigation the incident is near the sight of a significant fire in May of 2021 where a similar high-rise Blaze forced evacuation of dozens of residents a later investigation revealed that a failure in safety equipment could have led to tragic consequences the London fire brigade reported receiving over 100 emergency calls related to through the fire deploying 10 fire engines and Crews from multiple stations to the scene
