more than Georgia Tech does the reasoning is pretty simple sir has a first year head coach in Fran Brown and they haven't really had a signature win in the Fran Brown era mainly because well they haven't had the opportunity to have a signature win obviously Fran Brown is one and0 with Syracuse so far this is his first chance to get a signature win the Orange are currently Two and a Half Point home underdogs to Georgia Tech who by the way is the 23rd ranked team in the country so Fran Brown has a chance to get his first ranked victory in just his second game ever as a head coach and I say that literally not just with Syracuse this is the first time ever that FR Brown has been a head coach at any level and he already has an opportunity to get a signature win it's also possible and this is also a tease for tomorrow's poll Friday that Syracuse can be ran if they beat Georgia Tech this weekend I want to take you back to the previous head coach of Syracuse football he was the head coach for eight seasons from 2016 to 2024 and that is Dino babers now I think most people remember one particular victory in the dino babers era and that came in 2017 when Syracuse knocked off number two CL in the dome now that was in Dino bab's second year as a head coach but Dino baber's first signature win of his tenure actually came in year one and that was a 3117 victory over Virginia Tech who was at the time the number 17 ranked team in the country that was in 2016 Eric dundry had over 400 yards in that game so Dino babers got a signature win in his first season can Fran Brown do the same thing for Georgia Tech for their signature win perspective let's look at it from their eyes too because I see you Georgia Tech fans commenting in the comment section and I love it keep those comments coming this is a a shout out to you guys because Brent key who is the head coach of the yellow jackets LED Georgia Tech to a bowl game last season for the first time since 2018 and they've had a couple of signatur wins since Brent key has taken over at Georgia Tech last year they had two ranked wins at Miami albeit Miami essentially gave the game away by not kneeling the ball down but still you got to capitalize on your opportunities and that's what Georgia Tech did in that game right Miami made the mistake Georgia Tech capitalized on it you got to give him credit for that and also they won at UNC last year who had Drake May in case you missed it about Drake may he was the number three overall pick in last year's NFL Draft okay to the New England Patriots I know he's not starting in week one even though he's better than jacobe brassette but that's besides the point they won at North Carolina and in case you missed it in case you missed it Georgia Tech beat Florida State in Ireland in week zero now I know that that win maybe doesn't look as impressive but at the time Georgia Tech was a double digigit Underdog and they found a way to win that game and to be honest with you all I think Georgia Tech even though the margin of of Victory is 24-21 on a last second field goal Florida state has a really good kicker I think he made multiple 50 yard field goals and aside from the first drive of the game FSU really didn't move the ball well at all so Georgia Tech handled their business against Florida State but with that being said in the Brent key era ER for Georgia Tech they have signature victories Syracuse in the Fran Brown era because it's only been one game does not have a signature win just yet and when you take a look at Syracuse's schedule and where a signature win can come from there's really only two opportunities left for the orange to get one of those wins at NC State would be a nice win and Miami at home looks like a tall task but would obviously be a huge victory in the final game of the season I think that is a long- winded way of saying for Syracuse that this is a resume type building game where if you can beat Georgia Tech at home even if you're not ranked in the top 25 you're going to be on people's radar that's that's that that's the reality of it we're obvious I think most Syracuse fans are happy with how the game for the most part went against Ohio and we know how good this offense can be because we saw it against the Bobcats last week it's time for the nation to be able to see it this would be a signature win to Kickstart the Fran Brown era which by the way I didn't think was possible through two weeks I didn't realize how good Georgia Tech was actually going to be they're a pretty good team 23rd in the country Fram Brown and company has a prime opportunity to get a statement win and this is not a far-fetched upset there's a reason why I mentioned the point spread off the top of the podcast the orange are two and a half Point home underdogs that's it that's it it's not asking for too much to be able to win this game I think against Miami right now if I had to guess the line which is the final game of the season for Syracuse they're going to be a double digit Point Underdog at at this point I mean that that's just respect to Miami they look incredible right now and they demolished Florida in the swamp they look like the clear favorite in the ACC when I look at their schedule for statement wins this might be their best chance this season Georgia Tech at home if you disagree with
