Playing Cities and Knights on Board Game Arena

hi hello um so sorry let me just figure out how stuff is working great sorry things are going wrong but I wanted to play some board games and I'm going to play a board game now so that's fun have you heard of board game arena I'm talking to you uh future viewer because I don't think anyone currently watching the stream so you know if you're seeing this V hi I'm going to play some cities and nights I was so happy when I found that that a board game arena has cities and nights because I really like it I'm not saying that I'm any good but I enjoy it a lot so yeah I forgot that this would just be a lot of just sitting around and waiting because I don't there's nothing else to do other than just wait for people to take their turns I mean I know where I'm hoping to go but like H also maybe I should have adjusted some settings because I know like on board game arena you can like set your settings to say like hey I'd prefer to play with this option but not this option or whatever but like like for example uh there's a spot here like right here that's like a six a 10 and a five and that is a fantastic spot it is arguably too fantastic which is why like in Settlers of Katon or cities and whatever same game but they have like letters on the tiles so that you can put them in a specific order so that like they predesigned it so that it would be balanced so that like you would have stuff more like an 843 instead of like a 6510 for example but that's just my water tastes so good it's not I'm not like drinking flavored water it's just water and I love it it's fantastic but that is a question that I was wondering too thank you for asking that b rocket I don't know how that is supposed to be pronounced but I'm going to say rocket because likely they'll never know how I said it okay so my thoughts with going there is because it would be absolutely fantastic if I could get that to become a city very fast and then have a lot of paper because I think of the three trade politics and science I think science is by are my favorite I think the green cards are my favorite out of the three and also I really like the special power that the trade gives you when you hit like three I don't know what level but like you know because then when you roll something that you don't get anything on you can get whatever you want that's the resource but like that's cool like in my family uh my family we I think my dad's like favorite board game to play of all time is a three-player cities and night game that's I think that's his official thing so like I played cities and nights a lot doesn't mean I'm he always beat me because that's just my dad for you but uh what was I trying to say oh yeah so some terminology for you is that when you hit that level then you're called cool oh I have to make a decision now I could make a stupid decision I kind of wanna but the problem with this stupid decision is that it's a stupid decision who would have H it I am being indecisive oh my gosh you know what you know what I'm just going to stop thinking and just go there because I really like paper and then we'll send the road nope I don't want the road going that way I want the road going that way okay that is the thing that we are doing which you know I don't like that I put my city on a place that only has two tiles but at least I might get some paper I don't know I don't think that that was the right decision but it's the decision that I made so I'm just going to have to live with it h that was the spot that I was thinking about going well actually close to that not there exactly but then I would have been like I was actually thinking about going like right here I don't actually think you can see my cursor nope you can hahaa I'm sorry I'm new to streaming this is the first time I've done like board game arena as a stream by the way if you haven't if you've never used for e for e e e e e e e e e e e e e e e e e e e um well I don't know I might have not been able to talk for the past while uh my mic setup is bad and there's not really stay plugged in I can't check if my mic has been plugged in for the past while and I don't know when it became less plugged in there's a six oh my gosh but I don't have the politics upgraded at all also there's been no threes gold while I'm in the mood of complaining oh oh orange is going to cut me off there and I can't get through this way I won't be able to get through that way that would not be good but like I'm not really in the position to do anything whatsoever about it I'm not going to trade with orange because they're gonna try to cut me off and that wouldn't be great my guess is that they are making this offer which I feel like normally would be seen as a bad offer oh wait oh wait I misread it oh they needed a brick and a sheep not the other way around I've played 30s and nights on board game arena before I've played Katan on board game arena before I know which direction it looks when they're asking for a trade but my brain forgot it that time I don't know why I don't know why who are you going to put the bishop on how about you choose not me I'm goingon to lose I don't need help losing come on you jerk that was not very nice of you I'll give you a snarl that's what that was I know it was hard to tell what it was but it was my attempt at a snarl I really would love it if I could swap the position of my city and my settlement that would be fantastic like absolutely amazing but like eights have been rolled way more than sixes and that's not not very nice not very nice at all I don't we don't I did not want aord to be rolled no I did not as a matter of fact I wish it wasn't hey haha lose half your hand the sad thing is both of them are going to lose half their hand and then have more cards than me after that it's almost as if I put my city on a place with only two tiles or something and the six hasn't even been rolled that much it wasn't even worth it at least the robber is off my place but I'm how do I I'm so good at talking what I was trying to say is that I notice that the robber is next to a KN which means that it could be chased away which you could make the argument that that meant that it was a bad place to play it but you could also make the argument that there doesn't really seem to be a better place that's not next to a knight like most of the good spot like most spots seem to be defended by a knight and the ones that aren't aren't actually that great to have a robber on which is interesting I am jealous of you you just red just got a city they had enough ore to have a city I I am a gas this is not going well this very unfortunate but I made the decisions that I did in terms of where I placed my city like I I feel like on the one hand I feel like I'm blaming everything on me placing the city there but on the other hand I don't know if that blamage is inaccurate like like that that th has been doing well for the people who are on it and silly me I would have thought that the nine would have been better or sorry not the nine the six would have been better than a four but one of them has been rolled way more often which is ridiculous sh us cuz that's not what I was counting on are you kidding me somebody is overachieving four nights and the second person had two well I guess it worked for them they now have four points so good for them I did a golf clap but I don't have a face cam so that didn't really work but I got to improve my thing I forgot what it's called science that's the word so maybe I'll actually get a card from it maybe I huh I don't really know how things work like okay I will be a little bit more specific because I I feel like it but hold on let me nope okay ah uh sure I would like that or in fact thanks was that stupid too late I was in the middle of saying something uh is anyone watching me before I make a fool out of myself maybe I'm just being an idiot and somebody's sat through all 26 minutes so far of me being an absolute idiot but I don't so right now I have my twitch stream open on my phone so that I can watch chat uh and make sure that I'm don't miss anything but like that's the only thing that I've done like I don't think I have any other tabs open with my stream so why does it say it has I have two viewers whatever it's fine my best guess is that it's open somewhere where I don't see it or maybe Somebody's Watching oh my gosh I can do the robber thing huh um there's no good spots to Red has six points oh my gosh I'm going to go there and we are going to steal from Red that was moderately useful I guess I'll build a road for fun we that was so fun I'm amazed at how much fun I had do I get a green card I do and it might be the best one Alchemist might be the best green card or that or inventor inventor is also pretty awesome but Alchemist cool excuse me I did I don't want orange to build on that spot I'd rather they didn't okay here's the plan this is what I like to make these kinds of plans my plan is that I will only use The Alchemist if or when using The Alchemist will oh that will be right now when using the what I Wasing to say I will only use it when using The Alchemist will let me upgrade my science and I think that if I were to use it right now then rolling a six would let me do so because then I would have another paper and I'd have another Uh Wood so I could trade in for wood for a paper and then be cool yeah yeah that would be very cool ooh don't Target me that' be stupid choose blue because blue is in second place and you're in first oh oh yeah I needed to play the alchemus and I'm going to choose a three and a three because that's just the best way to make a six for me fortunately the not pan out but whatever that's fine oh my gosh everybody has their politics upgraded so much because of that stupid th maritime's trade and I'm cool baby I don't know what that was but now my knight is also activated that was stupid we're more than defended and I need all the help that I can get which means not spent wasting it on nights that I don't need to do oh but I get to have an ore for free I like being cool it makes this terrible situation a bit better I oh yeah I did get a progress card why is my memory so bad that I forgot that I just played The Alchemist in order to get the role that I desperately needed what is the matter with me oh my gosh what the heck but you know spending that card was so worth it oh my gosh I'm so happy but I'm cool it's like it's about wait irrigation if I were to play irrigation I would get two wheat and if I had two wheat I also had three or that would be a city that would be fantastic okay on my turn I get a city hopefully I really hope that that ends up working out because that don't you dare steal my card I am losing I am objectively losing I am OB ively in last place you should not steal my card don't you dare red has cards Target red or Target blue blue is a wonderful choice because it's not white which is me so thank you kindly I feel like like there's a mild issue with my plan of making a city because you see I built this road right here which was me telling Orange Hey I want this spot get ready to fight for it or like I feel like by building that road there I said hey it is now a race but I'm not participating in the race whatsoever like I'm I'm not making any effort to reach the finish line which means they are likely going to beat me and I bet that's what these trades are aiming towards cuz I was being so excited about getting to a city that I was was like you can have this spot which is oh and someone accepted their trade because it's a really good trade I would have honestly probably accepted it if I could have but now they're gonna build a settlement right there which is unfortunate because I cannot build any settlements connected to this City that's a lie I could build one right there but you know how I've been saying that this city is in an absolutely atrocious spot that's the worst spot I'm not exactly thrilled about building a settlement there but that's the only place I could if I wanted to build a settlement with that so if I was going to expand which I kind of need to at some point it would have to be using this and where would I go I guess there I don't know stupid Force an inventor oh my gosh that's what I wanted cuz inventors are so good um I want a brick and you know what I'm hold on let me think with my brain um that 10 is doing Wonder is but the fives are better well first off let me do this and then that's a city and then I think second of all I want to play the inventor and Swap this stupid three which has not been rolled once with this five which has been rolled multiple times there we go hopefully that means that I can get a sheep are you kidding me I moved the three away from me and then A3 gets rolled for the first time all game I I am mad I am furious you could even say how there that that is literally the first time a three has been rolled this entire game and it happened right after I moved it away from me that is not very nice and oh I'm so rich I have so much PR pair but I'm just going to build a city wall well grantant I'm so happy for you also here's another thing that I'm mad about is that I built this wonderful City I went through so much trial and tribulations to like make a city there and these numbers have not been rolled yet I'm like was there a point was there a point to me doing that also you got medicine I would have loved a medicine card when I built my city apparently I love to complain but like I mean look at the board I think I have a right to complain I'm doing so poorly H I'm cool I have upgraded my science multiple times and can get stuff for free when it's not uh eight nine 10 six or five which you know is not the worst thing in the world and also I think I'm the only one who has that so like who's the real winner I mean probably red but like whatever also I don't have the same number of points that I started out with I I I have more points than I used to there we go oh and I get to upgrade two of my nights which is great because I have one wonderful what you just you just stole my I'm sorry you just stole two of my wood and then you turned it into half of a wheat you just like threw it away that is so mean oh my gosh I can't even e and look at me I'm blue I have four kns that I can activate with these oh oh my gosh wait someone's losing a city oh I did not notice maybe I'm not losing anymore oh my gosh I didn't realize that that was going to happen wow oh my gosh sure who what I I don't know what they're saying I don't know what red is saying should have who what should have stocked in s whatever o something that is fun is that if it doesn't get stolen from me hold on um sorry I was distracted by stuffs oh my gosh my brain has this to function why has it ceased to function was I saying something oh yeah if SL when oh it just happened as a matter of fact right now I have four paper four paper is enough to get I don't know what they're called my family just calls them McDonald's because they look like McDonald's signs but you know you know the yellow things that go on top oh I'm so happy for you guys all getting blue cards and you got a point great that's just absolutely wonderful absolutely wonderful anyway look at me I'm also cool whatever I get a metropolis that's what they're called oh my gosh I remember that ah they're still McDonald's they're it's just a McDonald's I'm sorry Wella I can spend a road on going this direction if I will because can't go anywhere else cannot move anywhere else can I find might be rolled that's a four close but not close enough I'm gonna get a brick because I can brick brick brick very wonderful I'm not incredibly distracted you're incredibly distracted deserter card don't pick me yes oh hey look at that I'm not losing I have some points now I have six whole points it's amazing it's fantastic what two people are out of time have you ever heard of quick playe excuse you that was rude I wasn't incredibly rude also I want a five to be World ooh it says each of your opponents who has more victory points than you not more or equal so take that that's what I Mah I have benefited from doing very poorly here's a question do I need to be worried about somebody stealing the MetroPlus from me cuz there is somebody who is on three and in order for them to steal it from me they have to get 25 before I get 25 but like here's the interesting thing that the person that I'm thinking about is blue because they're the one who has three in the science departments but the ways for them to get paper is on a six which is I also get paper and on a 10 where I also get paper yeah and also red you could say that I should be worried about but they also get it on a 10 and I get paper on a 10 and a six and an eight so like you can make the argument wait what what that doesn't they have nine cards I'm going to refresh you to see if that changes anything that doesn't make any sense they have a city wall I thought that meant that they would be safe with nine cards on a seven isn't that what a city wall does is it increases the hand Siz by two am I am I being stupid they they had nine cards they had nine cards and then they had to discard one of them but but no what what this this is not making sense this doesn't make sense that's not how that works works I wish you could that you could like hover over this or hover over that or whatever and see the breakdown of who has Knights I mean like you could look with your eyes but I don't want to but I'm just trying to I was about to build a cool plan that base that was based on me having that Smith card and then they just go and seal it right out of my hand I can't believe you I got a crane awesome but what do I spend the crane on I feel like the obvious choice would be for me to spend it immediately and upgrade either the trader politics but which one um I'm going to upgrade the politics because I don't have a way to do that and also I can build a road which I'm going to do I I feel like you could make the argument that that was the objectively wrong direction to move put the road in because of like you know an eight is better than a 10 but the reason why I went that direction is because no one can stop me from going to the eight or at least if they were to it would be incredibly hard for them to do so but it would be easy for them to stop me from going for red to stop me from going to the tent so I think that if I want to do both I should go to the 10 first and they have just declared war they want to fight for it I need a brick and a sheep and you know if I'm desperate enough I could exchange for paper and turn it into a brick or a sheep I could do that that is absolutely something that I could do would it be incredibly stupid to do maybe it would also be incredibly Petty but an inventor but I don't want an inventor I'm perfectly happy with how numbers are right now although this was nice for a counter inventor like if anybody were to inventor me then I could inventor them back that is a very stupid thing to say if you don't understand that like there's a card called aventor that you can play but wait I could play inventor just to hurt somebody although like I could just Swap this four with the nine or something just to be a jerk or with the 10 that swapping these two actually looks pretty great but I would rather do something that benefits me oh it's going to be my turn next which means that I might have to might just have to trade in four paper for a sheep because I don't want to be blocked again I really would like a five to be rolled or you know something that I'm not on so that I can just get the Sheep but instead I got 10 how about I try trading with people does anyone want like two sheep two wood for sheep okay does anyone want a paper two paper for they want want a paper for wood come on I know you can and I feel like that is an objectively good trade it's probably too good of a trade but I'm Petty like that I want to beat them to that spot because Red's been winning for most of the game and now I've mildly pulled ahead also that is a moral victory so ha I'm going to lose my city I'm gonna get a weat and then just pray that that I don't have to wait I'm going to refresh again something's not adding up never mind it turns out we we are defended against the Barbarian and now we are even more defended I'm glad that I refreshed so I would not have to just absolutely panic but also well I wish I had noticed that there was something off earlier because I don't think a wheat was the best thing for me to get I think it would have been or maybe it was because I'm now on a wheat Port which means that if I get another wheat I can trade it in and upgrade my trade which would be fantastic because that's been sitting at zero the entire time or I could upgrade my or I could get a paper and upgrade my science so that uh no one like to make absolute sure that nobody's going to steal the Metropolis from me that would also be a good play I don't know which one's better though I mean on the one hand I feel like I'm being paranoid about losing the Metropolis but on the other hand hand I feel like better safe than sorry like this having the Metropolis that's worth two points so like it's kind of worth being paranoid about and a five's got to be rolled eventually right right hint five this is your cue to be rolled I amazing oh e e for e e for e for for e e for for for e e e for e e for e for for e for e e e e that's not fair I'm a pouty girl now I didn't want that to happen well whatever it'll be fine okay what do I need to build a road and a settlement I'll need one more brick and one more wheat great or like and as a matter of fact I can trade in two paper to get one of them if I need to and there's two rules before it's my turn I think Orange has a couple of a second I'm going to discard inventor because there's literally nothing that I can do that would help I'm going to get a brick because I'm not on bricks I need to be darn I guess I'll just play I'll play deserter because why not why not I know I'm going to receive a crappy night but like was either play it or lose it I have to just card half my hand round down great one two three 4 it kind of hurts with discard paper but like what you g to do I'm going to there's no good place to put the robber I might just like put it there so that I can still Rob them but they can't chase it away with a KN like it hurts to be putting it on a three of all places but like it lets me get an extra uh card why not and that is another settlement which is absolutely gorgeous the Barbarian has been stuck in that spot forever I have three Merchants I have three Merchant cards I really should have played one last time on like wood or something because I'm going to just have so much wood and then they can't use it really should have done that darn wow wait they have nine nights I mean eight that is kind of a lot oh yeah I get to defend your Kat I guess I'll get a brick I don't I don't know hold on let's let's think about this you may activate all of your Knights for free they have four Knights they activated them all for free that gave them a total of 10 night power wow okay hold on I need to think please choose or that would be hilarious that would be hilarious if you would choose or I was going to say something oh yeah so with the merchant I can hit 11 points and I can say on 11 points which means that I would need two more points to win Oh Oh wrong thing I thought that was the other one but it was the one where they get to steal the paper from me anyways haha don't have an open road that's any use to me haha just going to say stuff oh yeah um so with the merchant I'll need two more points which means I have like three options most likely or like there there are multiple ways I don't need the inventor and I mean you could say rumen wedding is more useless to you but I want to keep it in case I'm going to get a brick I don't know what to do I'll play the merchants on wood because I'm going to have a lot of it I could genuinely just go after the longest road like if I just had another turn basically exactly like that I would get the longest road I'll discard crane which hurts because I love the crane but I should have discarded commercial Harbor I can do anything I need to do with commercial Harbor what is Master Merchant that feels better than wedding and I'm only playing against one person because the other people left or whatever okay I think that that is a very mean card for them to play so if on my turn I can build three roads I win right now I can build one road which one does not equal three so that is unfortunate but like if an eight is rolled or a 10 then I think that gets me reasonably close a five also helps come on eight or 10 that was what I was asking for wasn't it but can I do it I think I can actually Wella that was not the right button because look at this I can do marit handroid I can go boom boom boom for three bricks and with those three bricks I can build one two three three roads like the longest road and good game great my first Victory on this account wonderful great okay that was fun um yeah I'm
