Intro As it is uh August 23rd and breaking news right now, we're getting new information about Austin Energy's overnight outages. They say a transformer blew around 820 last night. It looks like there are, I don't know, I would say maybe about three that are restored but 6400 customers lost power overnight. Austin Energy says the routed power to other equipment. Well, that's what they did, but this is only a temporary fix. They say the hot temperatures expected today, overload that equipment because of higher demand, meaning this could happen again. I know we lost power for a little bit at our house. Now, Austin Energy says they have been working through the night on a long term fix that could be ready as soon as today, but they need to test the equipment Austin Energy to prepare for potential outages. Today. Austin Energy is asking customers to conserve power, the utility asset customers use as little energy as safely as you know possible today, especially between two and 8 p.m. And that means raising thermostats by a few degrees, closing shades and curtains, not turning on the oven and unplugging any appliances that you are not using.
