REACTION to West Ham vs. Man City 🚨 'LET ERLING HAALAND RUN!' - Ale Moreno | ESPN FC

Bing Harland his 11th hattick of his Man City career 24 hat tricks in his senior career and this is what we're looking at today yet another one for Manchester City against West Ham this is W city as sending in the table right now three wins from three nine points at the top of the standings Arsenal two points behind them after three games played as well when it comes to City's goals look at this Serio Aguero and Raheem Sterling top of the list earling Highland I mean just those numbers Ali 70 goals in 69 games is frightening it's scary scary good from earling Holland and mind you last season the conversation about erly Holland was well he had a down year yeah he had a tough you I tell you how's he going to be able to overcome it well he just keeps scoring goals and that's all we know this guy there's a certainty about him in scoring goals and I will never put myself at the level of guys like Kevin De bruyne and the players that play behind erling Highland but if I were playing in behind erling Highland I have to assume that the job becomes a whole lot easier when he gets in the starting Block it's like he's in the Olympics he's about to run the 100 meter dash and he he's right there in the starting block ready set and he's ready to go just put the ball in behind man when there is space in behind to play for Manchester City put it out there and he'll go and Chase it not only will he go and Chase it he will go and score a goal he already scored a hattick but late in the match they put him in behind again and again Defenders just bouncing on get off me get off me go hit the W room no you're not good enough no you're not fast enough he got to an area in which it got a little too tight for him in terms of of an angle goalkeeper and so making the save but that is open for Manchester City time and time again whenever they're spacing behind just put him through he wants to run let him run yes so many teams want a top Striker right now Manchester City certainly have that in earling Highland just wonderful stuff once again from him Na and as for City if there were any doubts about whether they would still have their hunger this season well it's three from three so far in the Premier League campaign yeah um I think that hunger side of things it's always an easy thing to say before they step out onto the pitch but for those guys they're winners I think people who are at the top of their profession you know they hate losing they want to be out there they want to dominate games they want to be part of a successful side we've seen that start seen that for them for the start of the season now and don't get me wrong it's not guaranteed that the rest the season will be great for them but harand to me looks like somebody that wasn't at the euro in the summer somebody that wasn't at the Olympics and somebody that was very much excited to start this season I think he'd be hoping to be in Better Health and to have a better season than that down year that you know Al rightly pointed out last season but you know it's incredible and almost at times it doesn't feel real to go to see all the hatrick talk last week people writing on the football like I can't believe I'm doing this again only to seven days later get another one it doesn't feel real I think it turns you look at the guy and he's just a unicorn to to be that big to be that strong that fast and be that good a finisher you know that record speaks for itself and obviously for Man City through the years I was there and I like there weren't a ton of people who'd play enough games to be able to score say close to 100 goals in the Premier League but when he goes and puts himself in third after two seasons of Two and a bit Seasons he truly is incredible and he's definitely worth every single penny of the transfer field lodged all that time ago Stevie given what you just said about the fact that you think Arsenal could have won the game that they played today and obviously it's very early to say but when we look over the season as a whole we pick out games where dropped points have cost them is it too early to say that that game against Brighton could be one of those for Arsenal or this round in particular no I think it is I I think it is listen if they if they step on the field the next time in the Premier League after this International break and they don't get the result then we'll look at a combination of of of these two results as opposed to just turning around and saying this this is an important loss can I jump back to Ali's point now this is his third season Harland and in the three seasons of the the first two seasons po Guardiola has clearly not instructed his players to put the ball in behind early because we're still looking for it consistently and we saw today consistently it was done when it was on this has to be done to pet Guardiola has to be I mean there was an occasion in the second half where Kos had a break he had five players went past him and he gave the ball away so they had six players out of position West Ham and and Bernardo Silva got the ball in the halfway line and stood on it and Ellen Harland was standing right up the middle one-on-one with a center back looking for another ball stuck in behind Bern and Bernardo Silva stood on the ball and waited till everyone West Ham player got back and then it was almost like okay we're ready to reset and then they start knocking it around and knocking it around so it it it it begs the question how many goals would this guy have if pet gadola really wanted to make it all about him and play some balls in behind when they're on more often because clearly he doesn't want that n him no I think it's an it's an interesting point and I think some of the goals he scored so far this season have been with him playing on the shoulder but I think today was a prime example like we see this West Ham side now they're trying to be a bit more expansive where the way that they build out but unfortunately can get caught out in the same way that they did for that first goal and as soon as that guy can see the space he runs straight into it I think he's so good at timing his runs as well and the balls that get do get played in behind it just looks so routine looks like a training ground session but I understand where they're coming from and at some point maybe they will unleash it because you know the first step of that this season for example is Inn the first two games you had doku you had svho playing on the wings those are Wingers who we tend not to see from a controlled Guardiola side but I guess this is the next stage of the evolution of Guardiola and his side this year maybe Harland will be fed more even though it's not probably enough just yet what are we seeing here from City shakka we we' seen an incredible football team I in in many ways I I wonder if this vision of Manchester city is as good as the one we saw two two years ago in particular I think what is beyond question is that lling Holland and again I'm I'm going to Echo what everyone else here says that last season was not um a standout season by earling Holland standards yet he led the league in scoring yet he had 38 goals or all cap which is which is not which is a career best for 99% of the strikers on the planet but all of a sudden we're having a different conversation when when we're talking about earling Holland and I I think you saw on display today why that is why you could see somebody scored 308 go go and and had a poor season during the course of the games today we saw havit running behind one-onone with the goalkeeper we saw solo running behind one one with the goalkeeper you saw harand run in behind one and one with the goalkeeper and nobody looks as cool with a defender on his back facing down a goalkeeper as as lling Holland it it it is just beyond belief um how cool how calm how composed he always seems to look and I I'll disagree with with with Ali in in that during the Highlight um Ali said you leave you left uh West Ham left earling Holland too much space I'm not sure what West Ham could do again they play the ball into Holland he is in two yards of space takes a touch and it is perfectly set for his left foot how does anybody defend against that and again that's a conversation you can only have with erling Holland his first touch and his quick release is unlike anybody else in in in this game so now all of a sudden again you have a striker that is setting a standard that nobody else can match and I'm not sure how you're supposed to play against that so while we could debate all year all day long as to whether this version everybody else apart is as good as City maybe were a year or two ago when they won the Champions League earling Holland it is just unplayable and um I I I I fear for everybody who's trying to figure out that part of the city puzzle you know we were so sensitive about the West Ham backline no I know I I wasn't I'm not say anybody that back line it's just when when we when when when we were watching when when I was watching the game my my first thought was what's anybody supposed to do to stop that I I you just can't he his first touch is just so good and then his release is just so quick I there's nothing anybody West Ham included could could do about that actually the conversation was cuz I said cuz you said what are you supposed to do and I said well you could get closer and then he showed the replay and then I went ah fair enough [Music]
