thank you Ambassador it should also come as no surprise that former president Donald Trump is very critical of the moves that President Biden made today he's just blown up my inbox calling this a weak and futile attempt saying basically it's too little too late what's your response to that um I would just say that uh this action not to respond to to a candidate so thank you I appreciate that so I am subject to this the the Hatch Act um I guess what I would do is interpret uh your question to mean um or maybe I should ask you to rephrase your question sure I mean how do you respond to criticism that these tariffs are not enough and have come too late and those those are coming clearly from former president Donald Trump so again uh subject of the Hatch Act uh let me just say in general with respect to criticism that uh these tariffs might not be strong uh let me put it this way uh we have put a lot of uh heart uh and a lot of effort intellectual effort economic uh effort and consultation effort into this package they are designed to be strategic and not chaotic they are designed to be effective and not emotional awesome okay
