what's going on everyone Chris from piic dogs.com here with your free pick in the Arizona versus New Mexico week one college football match up going down Saturday August 31st 2024 just a reminder if you haven't already make sure you're subscribed to our Channel and smash that thumbs up and if you're looking for my Best Bets the games that I love including my daily $19 best bet head on over to pick dogs.com and click the premium picks tab at the top of the page but let's get to this one between Arizona and New Mexico Arizona coming into their debut season in the Big 12 it's going to be the Brent Brenan show for uh for for Arizona you know the Wildcats had a solid year last year you know 10 and three overall they won their game in the Alamo Bowl but it was last year under Jed fish as fish has now gone to Washington um but you know we're GNA have to see if that if this is going to be sustainable in a new conference kind of like what we saw back with the uh back with the wild cats under Rich Rodriguez in 2014 they finished 10 and four but then had a bunch of futility Seasons after that so you know obviously again if it's sustainable under Brennan and you know Brennan you don't just you know do well at San Jose State by fluke I mean there's got to be something here and he's got some solid pieces coming back you know he brought in Dino babers as an offensive coordinator a great hire for uh for this offense you got Noah faf coming back you know faf he was battling with Jaden doora last year but faid he was really accurate he hit 72% of his passes last year and he's going to have one of the best receivers in the country to throw to inoa McMillan you know 16 yards per catch he had 90 receptions over 1,400 receiving yards 10 touchdowns last year Ray Melo Murphy comes over from Old Dominion he was old the minions best receiver last year you know they've got some great pieces coming over from San Jose State to follow Brennan you know the the running back game it's nothing special but they're going to have some solid pieces in the back field on defense you know they're going to have some some transfers coming in especially on the defensive line as well they've got a great pair of linebackers you know at uh and Jacob Manu and Justin Flo Manu had 116 tackles last year six and a half sacks you know there's a lot to like about the secondary as well tario Davis going to lead the way at cornerback and now they take on an Arizona team that started the year with the loss to Montana State and it looked good early on for New Mexico they were up 17 nothing in that game they had a fumble return they had great field position Montana State really was was handing a lot of points they were up by 17 in two different spots in the game they were up 31 to 14 early in the third quarter but then three unanswered touchdowns by Montana state in the fourth quarter helped Montana State Rally from 17 points down twice to win that game 3531 and I kind of think that's what we could see here against Arizona you know Arizona like I said there's still concerns for me if this team is going to be able to hold hold up with the riggers a big 12 play and if that's going to be able to carry over any sort of success from last year but you're going against New Mexico and your season opener you're at home there's a lot of optimism in Tucson and frankly New Mexico that game should not have been as close as it was there were a lot of people that including myself that liked Montana state for good reason Montana state was the better team in that game they just they shot themselves in the foot early and New Mexico benefited from it and I don't know if they're going to be able to do that here I think that even if it's a step back here for Arizona they're going to be able to uh at least get started on the right foot here it's a big number to lay on the road but it's when I don't see them having a problem covering I'm going to lay the points with Arizona in this one and that's going to be my free pick but just a reminder if you haven't already make sure you're subscribed to our Channel and smash that thumbs up and if you're looking for my Best Bets you can find those at pick dogs premium why your pick dogs check out our betting tools they're 100% free they're the best betting tools in the business and tools that you want to make sure that you have in your back pocket when you're making your Best Bets for the day's action thanks for watching see you guys soon
