how do you determine who wins a political debate most people go into a political debate with their preferences they watch the debate and then magically the person they prefer won the debate that's kind of how most people approach it and I don't even mean that in a bad way it's just we all have strong points of view and we tend to look for confirmation from those points of view and we just sort of move forward from there um I try to be a little bit more detached from it and try to look at who's dealing with questions who's actually being forthright who has a real vision is something I I'm concerned about uh I want to see who uh understands reality who's connected to reality and who can sort of navigate world affairs and World politics and I think a debate can reveal some of that
