We are following breaking news for you right now. Thousands of North Texans cannot use their water this morning. That means no drinking water, no showering, no water to cook your breakfast. Yeah, this is not just a basic boil water. Notice this is more severe than that as overnight, Grand Prairie ISD even announced that they are closing schools today. Cleo Green is live there this morning and this is news that came out after a lot of folks went to bed and this is a pretty serious stuff. Cleo. Yes, Mark Hara. This is a huge alert this morning. In fact, we're standing right outside, right outside of Grand Prairie City Hall because this is where city crews were giving away free bottled water. And in fact, residents have been showing up this morning to see if they can get some of that bottled water. But I just spoke to a city council member and a city spokesperson and they just told me that that location has now changed. So they're going to be giving away that free bottled water at eight this morning at Lone Star Park. It's the huge horse race track building. Less than five miles from where I'm standing. So that starts at eight this morning. Now, we actually have some video from overnight when residents got that alert and they didn't waste any time to pick up that free water. The giveaway ended at midnight. Once again, the location has changed. The meeting spot will be at Lone Star Park at eight this morning. Here's what we know the city says they detected a foaming agent in the water supply. North of I 20 crews are now investigating the issue working to isolate the affected area. So if you live north of I 20 in Grand Prairie, down to South Belt Line Road, out to Six Flags and then any area near Riverside Golf Club, please avoid using the water. Do not use it to shower, wash your hands or brush your teeth. Don't drink the tap water, don't use it to cook, avoid using it for your pets as well and skip out on dishwashing right now. The only thing you can do at this point is flush your toilet city crews also say do not try to treat the water yourself by boiling, freezing or filtering it. Do not do that. And now I spoke to a Grand Prairie resident who showed up this morning around five o'clock. He's lived here since the seventies. He told me he doesn't remember anything like this happening. Oh, we got it last evening. My wife uh told me about it and then when I got up this morning. It's even worse because I'm a shower in the morning type person, you know, uh, and no shower. So kind of dilemma right now. But, you know, we'll get over it. Now. I did speak to quite a few people who have been showing up here to try to get the bottled water. And they told me they're a little on edge telling me that they took a shower around nine o'clock last night and they want to know if they're all right. There are a lot of questions that need to be answered this morning and we're still working to get that update and to see when this issue is going to be fixed. And like you mean, mentioned a Grand Prairie ISD closing school for today and extracurricular activities. I just want to get that alert out this morning once again that the new location to get that bottled water free bottled water is at eight o'clock this morning at Lone Star Park Mark. I'll send it back to you still a lot to learn here. Oh, absolutely.
