Orlovsky on the Chiefs WRs Adam shefer with the latest around the NFL which by the way guys is just 10 days away Chiefs hosting the Ravens I mean that is how you start a season and speaking of the Chiefs they say you can't go home again well they're hoping that's not true they reunited with Juju Smith Schuster they're leading wide receiver when they won the chip back in 2022 it was his only season in KC he signed with the Patriots the year after but you take a look at this receiving cor we all know last year the story was Patrick doesn't have anybody to throw to certainly didn't matter they still won the Super Bowl but they struggled for a majority of the Season Casey's white outs dropped 25 passes by far the most in the NFL so as a result they revamp their receiver room and they add Maris Brown first round pick Xavier worthy and now Smith Shuster as promised Danio is back I mean it's as if they heard us last year say you don't have any receivers it doesn't matter they ultimately won but now that they've got all their receivers in place how would you sort of rank them I know they haven't played a single snap yet sure how would you rank them in comparatively to years past for the Chiefs yeah it's the most talented wide receiver core he's had since he had Tyreek Hill there's no question about it and if you look back at certainly the past two seasons the margin for error on this football team was so small because teams could shrink the field there wasn't just a ton of vertical speed and now a Hollywood Brown a xabier worthy a Rashid rice in his second year they have speed that creates more margin for error they've had to play such a horizontal version of offense one because Patrick's so great but really because no one scared defenses consistently down the field now with Hollywood Brown hopefully healthy and Xavier where they their first round pick out of Texas healthy and ready to play Above as a rookie they have speed and that's more margin for ER as an offense you could take more shots this is the most talented certainly vertical offense they've had since Tyreek Hill was on the team we mentioned it but last year despite winning that Super Bowl Mahomes had a career low in total qbr he's probably imploring his team just hold onto the ball just catch it just please just catch it just one time just let's just see what happens if we can do that never know let's get you some more headlines we're watching today Browns running back Nick chub expected to go on the pup list that's physically unable to perform sources tell Adam shefer chub would miss at least the first four games he's been out since last September with the knee injury that required multiple surgeries keeping it in the family Nick's cousin Bradley chub also on the pup list the Dolphins linebacker tour his ACL last year Miami still undecided on the status of Odell Beckham Jr who is dealing with an undisclosed injury that's some good news right well the Rams got some today wi out pukaa returning to practice for the first time since injuring his knee in early August nakua who set the rookie record for catches last season is on track to play week one and the Packers have a new quarterback trading with the Titans to acquire Malik Willis sources tell Adam shefer a third round pick in 2022 Willis will back up Jordan love Tennessee will get a seventh round pick in return debate who's more important to Cowboys sign WR CeeDee Lamb their team this season Aaron judge or sh Otani I can't wait to see the answer plus the Chiefs add another receiver for Patrick Mahomes are Casey's weapons better than the last two seasons when they won the Super Bowl but speaking of receivers we're going to start with big and breaking news in Dallas CD lamb has ended his hold out that is a collective sigh of relief you're hearing from Dallas he agreed with the Cowboys in a 4-year $136 million deal sources telling ESPN's Adam schfer today gets a $38 million signing bonus the largest ever given to a wide receiver and a 100 million guaranteed so if you're asking well how does that stack up against the rest well Lamb's New Deal pays them on average $34 million that's second most for wide receiver trailing only Justin Jefferson all four of the players that you're looking for on this list right now sign their deals this off season you know who's happy about having them back on the field his head coach Mike McCarthy our lock room we bring in the man in the know the A4 mention senior NFL Insider Adam shefer Shey what more can you tell us about how the deal finally came together well L it's only August 26th and it is less than two weeks until the Dallas Cowboys kick off the regular season against the Cleveland Browns it's time to get down to business a year apart not enough to keep CD lamb out of Camp any longer than he already had been and so the two sides came together today they put together the finishing touches on an agreement that will have CD lamb contractually tied to Dallas for the next 5 years and he leaves Florida he heads to Dallas where he will begin training practicing preparing with the team all in the hopes of being ready for that regular season opener against the Browns he's been dak's number one guy he's being paid as a number one guy and they will be expecting him to produced like a number one guy he is so important speaking of expecting to produce ESP and bet has lamb as the second highest odds to lead the NFL and receiving yards behind only Tyreek Hill so one very expensive Domino Falls but shefy we all know there are two more still to go with Dak and M A Parson so what more can you tell us about their contract negotiations L we saw the pace at which the Cowboys moved at with CD lamb and it's been similar with Dak Prescott and Micah Parsons it has not felt like there's been a real sense of urgency to get a deal done and the urgency helped them today with CD lamb but it has not really been there nor should it be there for Dak Prescott nor Micah Parsons and so those two situations continue to linger on and now that Dallas has reached agreement with CD lamb it could take some of the attention that it was devoting to their wide receiver and now begin to focus it on the quarterback and the elite defensive player that Micah Parsons is but it doesn't appear at this time that a deal with either one of those players Parsons or Prescott is any closer despite the fact that CD lamb now has has an agreement to keep him in Dallas for the next five years when you mentioned Parson same with cidd right the pro is in the pudding and in the stats he's recorded 13 or more sacks in each of his three seasons Adam stay right there because I want to get back to you in just a minute but I want to look back at why certainly CD L passed the ey test but we don't know why he got so much money he is significantly and that being Dak Prescott better when he's targeting CD lamb last season than any other Cowboys wide receiver threw 12 touchdowns and just one interception lamb counted for 32 % of his team's receptions that's the highest rate by any player in the NFL we welcome in our NFL analyst Dan Dan Orlovsky on CeeDee Lamb orlovski CD lamb the only CD not rendered obsolete at this point four more years with the Cowboys what do you make of it been saving that one all summer I just thought of it 10 seconds AG sure it's obviously huge for both the Dallas Cowboys and CD lamb CD lamb accounts for 35 Plus percent of their offense and then CD lamb gets paid the question is going to be this is a guy that led the NFL in targets last year at 181 he was fifth in the NFL and routes ran at 596 how quickly can he become that person the Cowboys start this season against the Cleveland Brown that we be become accustomed to know whether that first couple weeks and try and survive till he's maybe in tiptop football shape at the end of the day both sides needed to get this done it's good that it happened Dallas has to be very smart and cautious how they go about using volume wise CD lamb to start this season well in particular for the Cowboys it's never about how you start it's always about how you finish but we can't agree they had to have him on the team he was third an offensive player of the year voting just last season I am not exaggerating when I say Dan orlovski is sprinkled all over this show stand by I want to bring Adam shefer back in really quickly because there's a couple of other receivers that are going I see what you did for CD lamb and I want that for me as well catch us up on the situations going on with Jamar Chase and Brandon IU well Jamar Chase returned to practice yesterday and I'm told that it was a good faith gesture on his part in an effort to try to continue any talks that have been going on between he and the Bengals the difference with Chase and CD lamb and Brandon I because that chase has two years left we've already heard the Browns president Mike Brown say he would prefer to wait to do a deal but the deal with CD lamb today does provide another roadmark for the Bengals and Chase to work off of as for Brandon auk and the 49ers it continues to be the Same Old Situation where not a lot gets done I think everybody recognizes the urgency of the situation and it wouldn't be a surprise if at some point this week something were to come together but to say what that is how it would look we still do not know because this story has changed so many different times it went from looking as if San Francisco was going to resign iuk to looking as if San Francisco was going to trade auk to looking as if it was going to resign him to looking as if it would trade him it's bounced back and forth we still don't know how it's going to go it doesn't appear like a resolution is in sight but we also know that the 49ers open the season two weeks from tonight against the New York Jets there's no way that this could continue much Beyond this upcoming week so we'll see what the two sides can figure out together yeah whatever team potentially could have aukon would want the guy that was second in the NFL in yards
