hello again everybody and welcome to a new edition of Kane sports inside the Lions today we're going to take a look at defensive end Tyler Baron a guy that you are going to want to get to know very quickly as the Hurricanes prepare to go up to Gainesville for their opener of the 2024 football season Baron is a big defensive end he's played a lot of college football uh and comes to Miami game ready to make a major impact on the Miami defense this season we think you're going to see him used in a variety of different ways uh most certainly though will be on the field on third Downs when it's time to go after the passer when Miami is going to be able to put together uh a pretty high quality group of guys up front that have proven that they are quality pass rushers on the college level as for today's segment uh we had the chance to sit down with Baron talk about his arrival in Coral Gables how seamlessly he has fit into the scene at Miami and what his hopes are for the 2024 season hope you enjoy the interview been a little bit of a roundabout path for you to to get here but uh now that you are here how's it going for you it's going great you know I've been really happy with the transition um just really excited to be able to work with everybody around here and um everything they can pour to me so a lot of people are looking for big things from you this year um you know you've been you've played some college football you've had success now you know people are watching saying okay this could be the year that it all comes together for Baron uh what are your goals U my goal is just for me personally just improving every day um all the little things that we've been working on through the offseason but more so just uh being a great teammate and just adding another component of that to my game and just helping everybody around me that's uh one of the things I'm focus on most speaking of that you guys got a lot of guys on the defensive line this year um a lot of depth you're going to be able to be fresh when you're on the field um but it's also going to take some buyin from everybody to stay together and and not you know get into locker room issues and playing time issues and things like that as an older guy do you try to be a leader in that regard uh yeah definitely just trying to keep everybody together keep everybody's head neutral but uh I think like you said a great thing about having a lot of people is everybody stays Fresh So I think if we can see the benefit in that I think it'll help everybody uh keep so common goal do you see your role as being strictly as an outside rusher or do you see yourself dropping inside a little bit as well to show show veraity really that's not even my question to answer but um just wherever they see me fitting I think I just want to help the team and uh win as many games as we can wi are you comfortable everywhere yes sir um and as you're looking projecting your career forward it's probably helpful if you get to move around a little bit and show yeah definitely just showing versatility um just being as useful to whatever team as I can be so uh you've had the chance now to work with Jason Taylor for a little bit it'll obviously get amped up here in the weeks leading up to the season uh what's that been like for you uh working with Coach Taylor has been nothing but a blessing uh I mean obviously he has invaluable information he can share so just being a sponge and just soaking up everything that he can offer can he bring out the best in in Tyler Baron uh I think Tyler Baron brings out the best in Tyler Baron but I think he can be u a component that helps helps do that and helps push me every day so you don't need somebody motivating you already have that within you uh yeah I think I have a lot of self motivation but uh I think he's definitely going to help and get me over the edge um being an older guy you know nothing's going to surprise you um H how much better equipped do you feel going into the season I feel very equipped just uh with all the knowledge that I bring to the table and just all the experience I think it's going to be really helpful this season so what do you think of your defense as I think it looks very strong you know um my first time being ACC so I think it's a little bit of a different game but I think as a roster I think we're put together well you've been anybody has stood out to you among your teammates uh really a lot of them the whole D line room to be honest I've just been kind of excited to play with such a talented group um coming from one and being in this one now I think it's just uh something I look forward to all right well we're looking forward to watching what you do this year and I know it's a big year for you and we wish you the very best thank you thanks
