and what happened was then we'd find shootings and stabbing someone come down just let a gun off at the door or stab someone inside cuz they just they wanted to keep causing trouble until we back down but I wouldn't back down in The Following episode we enter a world of violent Terror that engulfed security boss Michael Kelly as he went head-to-head with one of brixton's most feared and deadly gangsters no punches will be pulled as we reconstruct that night of Terror as a team of 30 Old School doormen fought for their lives and control of an Infamous nightclub in Tottenham in 1996 this is the explosive first episode of a trilogy chronicling The Journey of noons Irishman Michael Kelly leading security boss in London and Essex in the 80s and '90s and Russian Andrea wrecking ball enforcer who landed in London in the early '90s and teamed up with Michael Kelly to become a serious force in the volatile underbelly of Essex and London's cluband Tottenham Club un a firm of around a 100 men in expensive jewelry and the latest designer gear had pulled up on the street outside Club UN in top of the range Mercedes Range Rovers and BMWs they paid the long QA of eager reelers little notice normal rules did not apply to this gang of young men who had built an Infamous reputation in Brixton the huge dman dressed in military style attire stood braced in nervous anti anticipation as the sheer force of numbers pushed their way through to the entrance and were arrogantly demanding entry Michael Kelly a powerfully built hard and dorant and security boss from Ireland had worked for years in tough London pubs under the chage of the king of the bouncers Lenny mlan in the late 70s and worked his way up to head Dorman in rumford's Hollywoods a busy and tough Club in the heart of Essex he was experienced a not shy of Confrontation but even the legendary Lenny mlan would have flinched at the huge numbers of gangsters demanding entry to the club it was a dangerous situation tensions were high the pure numbers made it near on impossible to stop the men pushing their way through to the music vibrating its way through to the entrance he made a snap decision to allow them into the club and to keep a close eye in the hope they would behave rather than start an immediate confrontation good intentions but his worst fears were soon confirmed screeches and screams filled the air of with a pounding hawk or beats as a man clasping his neck with blood streaming through his hands ran out of the club with a petrified look plasted across his face the doorman sprung into action quickly identifying four or five of the gang members as the culprits which included their feared leader who were thrown out of the club with the door firmly shut to keep them out the gang head who had a ruthless reputation would not be able to tolerate such disrespect the LW on the streets was that even if it cost somebody their life life protecting your reputation was everything and the gang was soon banging at the door issuing deadly threats to the Dorman Kelly had been in hundreds of fights and violent situations including the ICF and even the notorious Roy Shaw who had taken ombrage at being refused entry to Hollywood's nightclub some years earlier Shaw had been with drunken Hangar on car dealers who were encouraging him to kick off with the doorman and it ended badly for him one of Kelly's fellow doorman a huge by the name of Lee Chapman burst out of the door and bodies slammed him to the ground and beat Shore up Kelly and the other Rumford Dorman made short work of the rest of the legendary hardman's Entourage but this was on another level of danger Roy Shaw had retired from crime at that stage and was in his 50s although a very dangerous man and self-confessed killer himself by that time he was a wealthy man and not the force he once was this gang was young hungry ruthless and were no strangers to Serious violence and even murders it was a different time completely the '90s would be a violent period with gangsters and criminal gangs fighting over control of the lucrative drug market and the clubs that were the gateway to thousands of eager clubbers who needed an endless supply of drugs a lucrative business the situation Kelly was now trying to manage was a precarious one a gang leader and four or five of his men locked out attacking the heavy front doors but there was an Army still in the club who now realized their friends had been ejected and were trying to pile out to force the doors open a few succeeded and Kelly was now face to face with the leader who was brandishing a lethal looking razor ready to pounce the one thing the Irish security boss was known for was his stubbornness when it came to threats or people trying to force their will on him no matter what gang or family they came from he had a job to do and reputation was everything on the door as well as the street and the gang leaders demands were not to be bowed down to he was not coming back in under any circumstances we had a riot on the front door probably the worst fight in me life it was just extreme to the extreme they were handing out knives outside ready to attack the door uh we had caues and mag lights I took a chain off off the door that used to lock the doors big thick chain with a with a a WR lock at the end of it and as one of the the head of the Aries ran through the door at me with a blade hit him over the head with a chain and he hit me there and he cut me from there all the way down to there right to the face the face opened up but the jacket saved me what followed was a brutal blood drenched fight on three fronts his headman Martin newel bravely took the front door with his black lads to stop more of the gang ejected from getting back in the entrance this was a fierce battle with the doormen most local to the area putting their lives on the line fighting this notorious gang The Fallout could have affected them and their family's safety but under the leadership of nle they stood their ground inside the entrance a truly brutal hand-to-hand battle between Michael Kelly and the Gang head was raging and blood was being sprayed over the walls as they battled for dominance the years of weekly fights on the door and the hours spent sparring with upand cominging London boxes had honed Kelly's toughness and fighting ability but it was like his opponent was on some type of drug that gave him ability every time he was bashed down he would spring back up and resume the battle with an insane intensity to destroy the Irish security boss that had disrespected him as their Savage War continued the non-local Essex Dorman were positioned inside the club and were fighting a staunch rear guard battle with a bing Mob of the Brixton gang members for iously trying to get through to help their friends the gangsters shot one man in the leg and were firing shots in the air but the doormen refused to break the line and fought relentlessly with heavy mag lights Kies and any makeshift weapons they could get their hands on as the gang pulled knives and Shooters a huge doorman slammed a hammer into one unlucky gangster's skull crushing it with the force of the blow he would later end up in a serious condition in the hospital before the night was out Kelly's experience and ability to pick the right type of men to work for him was now paying off with Neil and Martin heading up the respective doorman inside and outside the club ensuring their Lads did not break the line if one or two had buckled it would have been fatal enabling the gang to regroup together in their huge numbers and destroy the door lads who were outnumbered 3 to one Kelly was still fighting for his life and Consciousness he somehow managed to muster the last bit of energy to hammer his Fierce opponent with as many punches as he could and break his Spirit vicious fight absolutely vicious fight three or four got stabbed a further team of Essex Dorman including a big unit that was Kelly's brother-in-law had been on a rare night off and had joined in the defense of Club un and helped turn the tide the local London Dorman were understandably scared at the prospect of being targeted by the gang in the aftermath of the battle but most had stood strong on the front line Kelly's aex Lads were under severe pressure with bullets firing and knives slashing minut felt like ours as they struck out at the mob and stood strong praying the guns continued to be fired in the air and not at them the politics of running doors in areas with diversity meant that often security bosses would have two teams one white and one black this was not for segregation reasons all clubbers mixed as one but as a logical tactic as a notorious former door boss of Manchester firm lock N9 Mickey Francis and Man City hooligan pointed out in his book Governors there would be no point putting a bunch of white rugby players on a door in Moss side they wouldn't make it through the night it's important to note many popular Raven Grime Knights were situated in rough out of Center areas throughout the UK as rent was a lot cheaper and the police preferred potential trouble venues to be out of the city centers after years on the doors up to that point Kelly had never encountered such a ferocious attack covered in blood and injured badly he managed to keep consciousness and adrenaline kept him moving forward battering the gang boss who despite the pummeling still wouldn't go down in one last concerted effort he managed to beat the gang head into Retreat and he was pushed out the front at the same time the gangsters inside the club were allowed to run out into the welcoming committee of the armed police that had finally rocked up and was screaming at people to get to the ground with hands on their heads this was a night of violence that few involved would forget it was by far the end of the chapter for Michael Kelly but with the help of Martin nle and his other doorman whose steadfast loyalty and honor had kept them fighting for Kelly the club and their lives they made it through in the aftermath tensions ran on with the gang vowing revenge on Kelly the notorious gang head had a court date to worry about regarding the Savage kns events and would be sensationally acquitted in court with the jewelry siding with his version of events the life of a security boss does not always end when they finally get home and attempt to unwind after a night of violence amazingly none of the door firm's Lads were badly hurt apart from the boss himself whose face had been opened up one of the gang's men was put in a coma but would later pull through Michael Kelly spent many months with tight security in his home area of Essex and would be very careful when running the club un nights but eventually this threat would dissipate this was by far the end of the story there was plenty more trouble to come and a new door team was needed that did not originally come from these Shores but were utterly loyal and extremely ruthless when crossed [Music]
