like I'm all over the place I probably am if I look like I'm not in the picture somebody call 911 it's been a rough week been uh battling cold issues and you know working in the cold doesn't help it any I think but uh you know life goes on we got a lot of Lacrosse to talk about we have some different news we have of course Panther City folding and a dispersal draft happening tomorrow so our mock draft wasn't far off the mark last week uh we also have um Al Within announcement World lacrosse is only a couple of weeks out the prey has a champion so we have a lot to get to but just before we get the way I'm showing I'm not biased I've got the shamro shirt in the back I got the uh six nations cap on made you know we'll talk about man Cup in a little bit but hey oh sh rocks anyways the elevating the room of course is Panther City and U they uh uh cease to exist now me personally uh my on this is yeah the the league was looking for somewhere in the US the league was looking for another owner in Texas the league was looking at Charlotte uh we heard a couple other little places there that didn't make any sense but um where I think they missed the boat on was uh right in this neck of the woods here and we talked about it before briefly and I've always said a big thing of Oshawa now why Ashawa it's another small town in Ontario but it is a about a 40-minute drive from Toronto here East which means it's about a half hour to Peterboro half hour to cerg about 10 minutes to Whitby Brooklyn and um about 15 20 minutes to scarbro East Toronto all the people that were left out when the Toronto Rock moved West to Hamilton are sitting there right now without a home oshawa's got a 10,000 seats Arena where the oshaa generals play and for those of you in Philly who don't know what I'm talking about that's where Eric lindross came from so that should put a little perspective on that that's where he played as Junior in a brand new stadium at di so a 10,000 seat place with at least 10,000 people to fill it to me uh they missed the boat on this one because already you had readymade rivalries with Ottawa Toronto Hamilton Rochester Buffalo probably facts if you put a team in Montreal or Laval or Quebec City eventually there too it might even open up something towards Boston to put them back in and it would put another key Market in Ontario Canada so my eyes they missed the boat on this one is there enough people out here with money to afford one of these I'm sure I'm sure there is but they've been held against putting something else in the GTH greater Toronto area you know I guess infringing on the Rock Market but in my eyes didn't the rock infringe on the Buffalo Market going towards Hamilton and being that close to Six Nations and six nations would generally scoot off over to Buffalo so you know just my opinion but I'm thinking um that's that's a lost opportunity at the moment especially with team this good that could have gone Lock Stock and Barrel and you already have a viable opponent for a lot of the teams here the four or five that I mentioned for rivalries right off the Hop and if you think ticket sales would go down because of it you're nuts Sean let's throw it to you what do you think I was going to throw another idea for you in Canada Winnipeg if you want to keep it in West again you have an instant rivalry with Saskatchewan and probably Calgary maybe even Vancouver uh you still have those Western guys who aren't I mean it's a fair distance from home but it's still in that realm uh again you got the stadium you probably got the ownership you just go in with the Jets yeah yeah the big thing there is whether the Jets would take it on remember we had that with Edmonton where want to take it on but uh I agree I think Winnipeg is an untapped Market as well my my my my point really was to put a readymade team in with readymade rivalries with so many R made rivalries you know not an hour away from one another between winipeg and saskat and true we got one going on right now in football that's true that's true as we speak they're playing and that is a nasty rivalry Frankie we're doing great thank you very much tuning in appreciate you tuning in Mike what do you think yeah I mean the only thing I'll add to it is it was interesting to see you know Charlotte Tampa uh you know a couple other were were thrown around that that probably didn't make so much sense um we didn't really hear about any Canadian cities and we also didn't hear what's the deal with St Louis I never thought there was much of a deal for St Louis the Midwest is not really notorious for box Lacrosse however you do have the blues and would they pick it up and make an attempt but I just I just thought that it was weird that you know all we're looking at is south southern US cities um well maybe Charlotte isn't that southern but still so just try to maybe find something just in close proximity to Fort Worth as close as they could I I don't know I'm just curious why they wanted to keep their anchor in Fort Worth like if you're going to do do that move it to Dallas and uh if you could do that we wouldn't have any of these problems or headaches or whatever you want to call it Dallas same that the same issue with Dallas so then you probably have to have the Stars take that on because you it was clear the ownership wanted to cut it Loose well yeah yeah but then again we've started hearing all kinds of reports from insiders as well as season ticket ERS as well as people in the area going in marketing wise you know I had heard things that they were working on marketing and they had a decent uh marketing department trying and now I'm hearing things that they really did no marketing or next to no marketing in the area they did really next to no uh Marketing in other sports and other sporting events towards getting people there uh towards introducing people to it so really what was going on there and did you want to be like the old school nlll and just throw down a carpet open up the doors and hope for the best well we saw what happened it looked like a practice so I'm not really sure and I heard that more and more that they did less and less they even got rid of all the ingame uh stuff like cheerleaders and other things that were uh for the for the people in there because there really any people in there lot a problem right especially the Optics on TV just looked bad every time you looked at that game at Dicky Arena sure beautiful beautiful Arena but it was empty like it was quite obvious that it was yeah white seats didn't help at all because it just made it stand out that we're empty we're empty yeah and he also shot the games weird because you know I would be trying to put cameras to anywhere where there's a group of people and I would sell just one side of the stadium oh 100% yeah you know like PL did it the first couple of years and uh you know yeah when people take pictures yeah it looks empty but on camera it looks like there's a crowd some sort so at least when you're aiming the camera somewhere you know and you don't take camera angles from the end zones from the Nets because obviously shows everything but um I don't know I don't know so we have a dispersal draft so um just to remind everybody at ours last week and yeah there's a couple of changes because we went with a playoff format so Buffalo is last Alban is second last Toronto is third last and San Diego is fourth last so that might change this a little bit I don't think it's GNA change it too too much um I don't think Jason Knox will wind up in Buffalo but it was an interesting thing I noticed on Steven stamps one he had Phil Caputo going to Toronto um if he is there as an offensive guy okay he's gonna help the left side out um if they're gonna try and make him a defensive guy again like before that didn't work I never understood that anyways because when he played Summer Ball in Brampton he was an offensive guy and you see the numbers when he had an opportunity that he's an offensive guy so I don't know if that would be the best move for his career coming to Toronto but uh we will find that out in uh about 14 hours from now 11: a. tomorrow Eastern and it looks like it's one round Mike am I wrong with that uh I'm not sure you know they did the league did mention it was just players under contract so I'm sure I'm sure what we did isn't going to match up because I'm sure there were a number of guys whose contracts expired and with the push and free agency they probably they probably have a lot less people than than what we had I mean 2 Guys yeah well we yeah I mean we we took basically we took everyone we knew or relatively knew that was on their roster except for the folks on their Draft list so anyone who was on the active roster practice squad on injured reserve or pup list or hold out list and use that group of people right okay well let's take a look at our U our first section there on the left hand side and are we U on the money here because I'm thinking that um the first two picks are going to be reversed I'm thinking donville goes to Vegas I'm thinking will Malcolm goes to Colorado just my intuition call it crazy um I'm thinking Hosk does wind up in Philadelphia sellers does wind up in in Vancouver but uh curious about that one what do you think what do you think about those first two a Sean let's start with you yeah I was G say I think it could really flip him either way um like would it surprise me if Colorado took Will Malcolm no not at all no it's instant help yeah I think either one is a fine pick at number one so I don't I again like yeah you could flip it I I could see it but uh if they took John Jonathan donville as well I don't see any issues with that either right right either way I think both teams get a lot stronger Vegas is probably going to be um the most improved if not the second most improved Vancouver comes to mind as well for uh uh big improvements and how that team's going to be um the other thing interesting was Vancouver do they take Nick tud we talked a lot about it last week but it's starting to make even more sense uh the more I look at it and it's not just for being at a trade but it's also for insurance if they get deliano they can them and if they don't well then I I guess my question is what do they do with Aiden Walsh because I really that's kind of their guy they've been kind of showing that hand unless Dale biano comes up does he go back to a backup you yeah draft de mood and flip him for Del biano it's possible it's possible that way Calgary gets something for him I'm just going to throw this out there we never really I don't know that we really discussed it on air but uh but one of the reasons that Aden Walsh wasn't playing for Langley in the playoffs was he had left the team and the reason he had left the team was that he supposedly had gotten into some sort of altercation with Chase scanlin now I know be a healthy thing on the Vancouver Club was Chase sign though that's the thing that that's that's that's the kind of The X Factor because I think Aiden Walsh is signed with Vancouver I don't believe we've seen any announcement for Vancouver that they've resigned Chase scanlin so trouble just seem so maybe they've kind of taken care of that situation the Warriors already but if obviously we're we're gonna know in the next like you said and I mean this is just another crazy thing I'm just throwing it out there does Vancouver somehow package that fourth pick to calary for Del Bianca like the fourth pick Walsh I don't know I'm just kind of throwing that out there as the sticks that know calary can get they mood to number four Vancouver gets number five that's true because we we don't know if uh if you're allowed to trade your dispersal draft yes you are I believe you can yeah yes you can everything is the same as if it were a regular draft Okay and like I don't know what that would look like but maybe there's a package there that kogre would be willing to take to grab number four they can get day mood well you know in uh with all this going on of course I put on my Portland Lumberjack shirt because of course Portland lasted four years and then they went and they were uh almost at the top when they were you know dispersed and uh well now we got Panther City it's my tribute similar yeah eily similar one year off one year off no but that's I mean that's a good point you know but we we were talking when this whole announcement happened initially with Christian Del biano posting that he wasn't going to be resigning we kind of talked about Calgary kind of having the leverage on any trade or anything like that you know especially with Vancouver and as time's gone on and the news has changed and these things have happened it seems like Vancouver has suddenly tipped the scales in their favor where they have all the leverage now and that you know they can get essentially okay you can argue maybe he's just outside the top five but he's close to a top five goalie Nick de mood yeah yeah he L great president cup I mean let's be realistic here we're talk you know Vince Ward D biano Doug Jameson yeah say d mood prob I Nick Rose I me you can argue goalie or yeah or you know but you know then you just those next guys right there is that's pretty much your upper half of the league probably yeah I think the sleeper in this one is actually cam M Cloud tell you the truth I don't think yeah I mean he he definitely has to be and he looked good in the President's Cup also so if he actually had any defense in front of him they uh they might have done a whole lot more you know what's funny I heard some KN draft saying now this is scan might take McLoud yeah they're full of gold tiers as it speaks right now but to have maybe a Bonafide backup behind shano unfortunately you're going to have to lose rishka or um kizak um one of them is probably going to sit on the practice roster as a young guy still learning but would that maybe be the end of the world if they took a backup I don't think so I don't think so um the only other thing I could see is Calgary taking Josh mados a lot quicker since they did lose their transition game just put that out there yeah yeah know that that's it's a definitely a good point also I think maybe just maybe uh Jason Knox goes up a lot further than where we have him instead of Connor sers maybe Jason Knox winds up in Vancouver because you know meowski loves that kind of play in that kind of size I don't say you know what I would I could see it I could definitely see they got their eggs in uh in the the Aiden Walsh and Conor tool baskets then this wouldn't be a uh a terrible thing yeah I guess I would I guess I would I would say really if you're a GM I think I think things are gonna change quite a bit if it's only one round versus two I'm looking at the standpoint that you know we conducted this mock draft and for the most part most of these picks we were thinking along the lines of hey where can we fit you know our biggest need if our biggest need is transition we're looking at the transition guys or a faceof guy if our biggest knee is defense we're looking at the defensive guys we're not really looking you know even if even if best available is yeah if if if if you're the GM now and you're only getting one pick and we're not going through the entire roster or there aren't enough guys on the roster under contract that we can have to full of rounds I think I think the GMS are going to look at it a lot differently and they may just look at best available and they may be looking just for a piece that they can flip in a deal later if necessary I I think that's a lot more on the table for an N llgm than it would would be if if it was just hey we're just going to go through the whole roster and until we run out of guys absolutely yeah well I think that's a good point too Mike because you know going back to cam Cloud probably normally you wouldn't pick a backup goenda as the first round and you need a Bonafide backup go tender you're probably not going to stick around but I don't know if he's actually a backham goalie really the way I saw him play over this last week um I'm pretty sure that he can hold his own and I've seen him many times relieve day mood when he's had in a rough night uh years past and he looked pretty good in that game good yeah he looked pretty good um is he top five top 10 probably not that's the thing he's still kind of unproven right he is still a little bit unproven as a starter right as a full-time starter that's the thing right but then you'd have to be looking for a backup just engaged it's of his quality kind of like what New York was doing that's what I'm saying that's what I'm saying like he's a bonified backup in the fact that you know what you're getting as a backup that he's going to be Sol when he comes in especially he's young too yeah you're looking to build this may not be a bad thing where you can start looking at other aspects if you have him because remember free agency opens an hour later it's gonna be a busy day guys yeah get your sleep tonight it's gonna be a busy day draft free agency and you know everybody's been chomping so you know a lot of these things have already been signed and they're just waiting to release it so it's going to be at noon 12:01 boom there's gonna be you know get ready are gonna light up too phones are gonna light up too with with potential deals or you know anyone they couldn't get to yeah you know I think if you're a GM you know if you've already sent out qualifying offers to your rfas or whatever or or or guys that are under your control you're GNA put them on the back burner now interestingly enough the uh the entry draft is a couple of weeks from now too week and a half and excuse me the funny thing is it's going virtual this year now this the first time since fruit is the commissioner now if you remember the first year he came in he'd been in a job about a week and we had the first draft and it looked like I was at when I was there it looked like I was at the the NFL draft and it was at the uh the downtown College venue it wasn't a track and you know you almost had a band playing when these guys were going and all these things going on and you know come second round it's uh crickets but um last year same thing and again you had all all this to do only was at track last year now it's virtual so are we not putting as much weight in because last time we had a virtual draft we had Co I was just wondering maybe it had do some a little bit to do with the uncertainty with Panther City and the possible dispersal draft as now as dispersal draft because we at that point we were still waiting around here trying to hear something uh free agency we didn't know if that was going to get pushed back even further it's a lot easier to kind of push dates back as a virtual draft than to book a venue book a band music DJ whatever put on this big show just to find out you have to move dates around and I don't really why the draft would have been effective because if even if Panther City isn't there it's one less table and everybody moves up it really doesn't affect anything because it's still all the OG kids and know the Western kids and that dat could be the same except the only thing I could see the difference of is you don't have as much time to figure out what you got because you only had a week and a half with free agency as opposed to a month and a half and of course with the panther City thing you might have filled another need quicker than you thought that's why I was thinking more of the short notice they thinking maybe they got to move the draft date to give teams more time that's it makes sense but uh still um I um takes away the uh all the panach of the being drafted first overall getting up there getting your jersey getting your cap you know agree yeah being interviewed by Ashley and as soon as you hit down the stairs and you know all those fun things so you might still get interviewed but you know the same way we would interview somebody here true yeah no for sure little more exciting I guess for the families they don't have to go anywhere and everybody can get together in a living room but uh to me the whole excitement of the draft especially an entry draft is the being there and watching these kids as their names get called and watching them with their buddies who they come up through Junior with and seeing where they're all going now granted it you know we don't have to see where it sucks for the kid who's sitting there through five rounds and doesn't get called right but uh generally speaking I like the live drafts I always have I've always had fun going there I've always had fun doing them interviewing people seeing it the mood the energy because it's New Beginnings for the teams and for the players and that kind of energy is in the room and this coming after last year especially where they had the the nlll Hall of Fame uh inductees the night before and the big dinner to do you know three years worth of indues in there because of the covid years and then the draft the next day so it was a it was a whirlwind weekend it was spectacular and then now this year we don't have a Hall of Fame anything this year and we uh have a virtual draft and the Hall of Fame thing is another thing that uh kind of gets me scratching my head because we only have 37 members in the nlll Hall of Fame doesn't that seem odd yeah far as I'm concern as far as I remember might seem a little odd just because you know they they've they've missed some years and then they've had you know like last year where they inducted I think about 10 people so uh was a long evening it fun a long evening but I I guess on the flip side and you look at all the people who argue that Baseball Hall of Fame is watered down and there are guys in there who shouldn't be in there now and you know it's keep it keep it small well we've got the lacrosse Hall of Fame who seems to be able to find two three four people every year got the Canadian lacrosse Hall of Fame seems to find two three four people every year I was G to say even if it is years of NL we can't find more than 37 people yeah no it's kind to G Gary like even if you hold it every year but even if it is two or three people well that's exactly what it's supposed to be that's great yeah it's not supposed to be 10 people a year 10 people was because they hadn't done it in a while and we're trying to get it running again now have it again it almost makes it a little bit more extra special right if it's just like you and another guy like it's it's your night right you know same thing with you know we were talking about the All-Star Game making a re re incurrence there because of you know TV contra track s seeing the success of the PLL in their All-Star Game an All-Star weekend and uh talking with the majority of former players as well as current players would love to do it again you know the big thing that they the the brass had come across to me when I had mentioned it was of course finding that date but there's so many bi-weeks surely we can uh you know scoot that schedule out that there's one put it in the Champions home whoever wins it let it be there so be in Buffalo you don't think the Buffalo fans would come and support that sure they would sure they would know and then move it around from there but uh at least for the initial year or two put it in hometown of the team that wins or if you really want to get creative but the team that wins against an All-Star team NHL did that yeah you know it seem to go seem to be going on that same trajectory as the way the NHL went and seemed to do okay for them and the nlll game is one of those few games where it's not watered down like a flag football game or you know a hockey game where everybody's you just kind of you know bumping in and like giggling with each other you know we haven't seen a baseball game since Pete Rose took out a catcher right this would actually be you know watching guys in skills you know I've been at this forever because I love these games I've been to a bunch of them love them you know the pl kind of has that in its own thing because they have all the players on that one weekend and if you sit there long enough you'll see all of your favorite players here you have to go to nine games to catch nine different teams were the players right true so if you get that game with everybody in there that one extra week of travel well you know most of the time these guys are traveling anyways and if it's gay driven promote it get it on ESPN regular Network get it on TSN for for the regular Network and let everybody see it and let's see what the ratings are for whether you do it like this again next year at that trial balloon but as long as we're just here talking about it and nothing's being done we'll never know anyways few other uh little signings along the way in the nlll uh remember the dispersal draft is 11 o' if the nlll does have it we will broadcast it from them if they don't we will have the results for you as quick as we can get them up all right Ryan Lee three years with Colorado big signing um it look great with Will Malcolm wi he Conor Fields four years with a Night Hawks another huge signing that's big one y there were a couple others um uh Calgary Ruff neck signed Griffin H with three-year agreement Philadelphia Wings signed Deacon KN and Jackson Gaton to oneyear agreements and San Diego was uh signed Jake gett to a one-year agreement not a lot in the way of things there yet however in about 15 hours from now things will be going off rails don't you you despair all right a little bit of uh news outside of the nlll uh first of all if you're looking for a a great way to watch before the world's hit the all and W East are having exhibition games against team Australia at the Brampton Memorial Arena and this will be men's Saturday September 14th 7 p.m. women's Sunday September 15th at 4:30 sorry that's men's again and women's Sunday September 15th at 7 p.m. 10 bucks 16 and under free with a paid adult um I say what a way to spend a weekend now granted that may be game seven of the uh the man cup but if you're not going there why not go to Bramton and catch some of this because you're going to see a lot of upand comers who are going to be in NL uniforms real soon uh against Australia's Got great box teams women and men and Australia yep yeah and the women all team is also no slouch be some great lacrosse on both ends 10 bucks if I'm not in Six Nations for uh game seven you can guarantee I will be in Bramton watching these games all right um cufla it's September now guys and that means that uh universities are back and the Canadian yust field Lacrosse Association is a league of Canadian universities that play lacrosse uh Kao is governed by an executive board that runs the league and is accountable to the member universities from Humble Club Beginnings to varc level teams in 2013 the league has come a long way in the last four decades where competition is intense and continues to improve each every year coup of recruiting efforts span North America as many US born student athletes are choosing to compete in Canada's most competitive field lacrosse league and the best educating system many alumni play both professional field lacrosse and have won gold medals playing for Team Canada season culminates with the Bata cup where the top Canadian University lacrosse teams compete for a national championship kler will be celebrating his 40th anniversary in 2025 so we will have regular scores as play comes it opens up this week so uh men and women so this should be exciting um both the the commissioner and uh Vice commissioner are good friends of mine and uh hopefully we'll get Tom or Scott on the show and uh I can talk a little bit more about it uh if not a number of coaches are familiar names to every everybody and uh this is exciting this is going to be a good time for everybody involved all right we touched briefly on world lacrosse and it is set to start on the 20th of September just two and a half weeks away guys two and a half weeks away the hon released their roster and uh what a roster wow yeah yeah you look at this nanak O Thompson Jameson STS Brendan bombery Zed Williams Jeremy Thompson Tarbell Ron John Larson Sundown Eli McLaughlin Adam bombery Zack Williams Travis Longboat who's had an incredible summer Johan H Thompson Brook herur Justin Martin who's also had great last year and an awesome summer and I expect a big man cup out of him Thomas hogar Blake McDonald Trey deer who was wonderful huge m in in the Mento uh col Marquee also had a great summer with Peter bro uh Doug Jameson and Warren Hill wow uh names that were like of course Austin STS with his legal problems and uh well Miles Thompson who was still getting over his knee injury and the last time I saw him he was working through it but he had put on a bit of weight too from being inactive so I don't think that they would be able to use him just yet but uh he was still battling and he was still fighting so I don't think he's done yet so wish miles all the best in getting back because he was a great Yang to the Ying of Lyle you know what's also great to see is Jeremy Thompson and how great he's looked this year especially this summer facing off against Withers and really holding his own you know because there were a couple of years where he's looking like he was kind of losing it there at the faceoff dot but he really looks strong this summer almost Resurgence if you will so this G to be very interesting one of the games I have circled that I will be at of course is going to be the Canada hon game and that I believe is on the Sunday evening uh I think at 5:30 game Sunday and uh wouldn't miss that one for the world that's a good one oh yeah that could be your potential gold medal game yeah the way I see these uh these lineups so this is going to be a pretty uh pretty heavy duty game so all right let's talk a bit about the prei President's Cup of course all last week uh 25 games and uh it didn't near kill me like it did last year but uh it was close a lot of games to watch a lot of games to watch I didn't have to be in Ladner for it so I was mind you it's in Brooklyn next year so so guess what you'll die again yeah there we go again but uh our bronze medal game was an interesting one alany who's never been in the President's Cup comes away with a bronze over stank Island muskies now the other interesting thing here well the shots on goal was something like 452 to n um it's ridiculous the uh the shots on goal in this in this game um 75 to 36 in favor alany wow wow yeah that's why my uh my MVP of the game for Snake Island Was Keegan Thomas who play goal for Snake Island um he saw a lot of rubber and uh he didn't even start the game you know they want to get all the goalies in so all four goalies played but um yeah so he he only was an accountable for about eight of those but my God 75 shots that's was the record beforehand was against uh the standing Buffalo fighting Sue got it John there you go yes because they had a rough week yeah a rough week they had one win but they had a rough week but you know what considering ugliest games of the week you know though considering how the past sukatan teams have gone getting that one win is a win so to speak for that program one of the games that they have played they give up 73 shots so this was the watermark and they lost Edmonton 15 to one one game so yeah yeah yeah they had a couple of games that hit the 20s also was it just you know it was ugly but U you know there were a lot of gems in this in this series there were a couple of seven six games the uh the first time uh the the gold medal game met Edmonson beat Ladner in the uh uh I think it was a Monday or Tuesday game it was 63 uh just incredible Bull teams but uh the Christian Del biano show arrived in uh in Ladner yesterday and the uh the Pioneers beat the Edmonton miners nine to2 on well chrisan B delbianco uh he made um 40 saves out of 42 shots oh sorry he made 44 saves out of 46 shots I almost robbed him he was also the tournament MVP because he was just spectacular this week Ladner only dropped one game all week long there was a time when they were wondering if Ladner was actually gonna make it there because if you remember semi-finals they went in overtime right John yep they did and even that Dr last even the last like minute was wild because they went back and forth it was crazy it was crazy thing is played the game of their tournament there just ridiculous but then they comment too looking at the West this is back-to-back finals now for Edmonton talking about how great it was Edmonton that was in prey last year now they've gone back to back like look how that program's just grown Leaps and Bounds now well Edmonton had to take out the All-Star Oakville team last year that was set to win that thing at home yeah and they stopped them cold in that game I remember how quiet it was over a track because they stopped the trans ition game which was the game that was getting Oakville all their wins and here you know you know Kudos s Dean farell he had a great series he led the the Edmonton team Mike triolo he was doing well for a while the last couple of games he was pretty silent but this is a grind this to me is actually even tougher than the man where you're playing if you go seven games seven games in nine nights this thing is 25 games in six days you're playing six games uh in a span of five days no days off yeah so you got to be deep and lader had a really really deep lineup no two ways about it really really deep lineup and it showed and there's a number of guys that won't be back you know like Ryan Benes you know uh he's three beated now I doubt you're going to see him again you know he's got a young family now now it's probably time that he wants to kick back relax a little bit few of the other ones few guys who weren't there from last year like Phil Kabuto and a few others but they've got Young Guns already there taking their their spots and of course as long as you got Christ and Del biano in the uh in the Nets H you always have a puncher chance and wow I say that could even be a question mark though does he go back to coquit let Again Play senior a again now that he's W aou very possible very possible and won't that rule be implemented next year that senior B Teams can only have what three n or something like five in the first year and then three in the next year and okay yeah yeah um that will change a lot of things in there and that's the way it's supposed to be this is supposed to be an amateur League um for guys who couldn't make senior a not a senior a uh Point 2.0 because these games were every bit as exciting with just as much talent as probably more announcement this week that uh well they're going to introduce the 30 second 20 second reset shot clock and what does this mean um well shock loocks with a 20 second reset option will be added into the all they originally tried this a couple of years ago with only one set of clocks they now have more um all repossessions on rebounds along with balls that leave uh leave the play uh off an opposition Blair goalie we'll see a 20 second reset instead of the current 30C reset 20 second reset will also happen off balls uh out of play off the goal post or crossbar um Paul St John uh quoted as saying this has been on my mind for a few years we actually tried this in a preseason attourney prior to the 2022 season but our vice president Lance win and I were in Langley assisting with the launch of the AL West so didn't get a chance and opportunity to see it in action at the time we only had one set of shot clocks with a new function ability so we decided to shelf the idea until now truthfully as many lacrosse people know I enjoy finding ways that improve the uh the game of Lacrosse we know this new shot clock format will speed up the offense and reward Defenders who sacrific themselves defensively by soaking up an opposition shot that heads out of bounds it will also push coaches to strategize a little different in the last couple of minutes of the game interesting it's going to speed up the game that's for sure probably add a little bit more scoring to it as well okay Sean your thoughts yeah I think it's interesting and it's worth a shot seeing how it works out um will it make a difference or not I don't know uh it'll just be interesting like you said I think it'll just speed up the offense and maybe force their hands to get a shot off a little bit quicker than they would normally like where they maybe would be passing the ball around killing time right Mike what do you think yeah I mean I'm all for it I I've seen some of the comments you know on on social media some people you know strictly against it worried about you know timekeepers messing things up and running into those kind of problems see I thought about that also and then I read about clocks with the function ability to go 30 or 20 because originally my my thought was what we're going to stop the game so they can run 10 seconds off and then whistle it back in that's kind of pointless so if these things have the functionality by pushing a button and you've got 20 instead of 30 it will be quicker which also means that there's no Dilly dallying right so especially penalties or things like that where you can continually do this right so it's going to uh change things all over the place we'll get a first look at the new shot clock format in play during the start of alll West regular season in November as well as East preseason exhibition tournaments November 30th and December 1st and the alll regular season opens Friday December 6th so right around the open of the nlll Season we're gonna get a chance to see this and since the alll is a direct feeder for the nlll um don't be surprised if the nlll isn't keeping a very close tab on this one too to see if this is a viable thing to speed up the game even more yeah 100% so I I think it's an interesting idea yeah I that's one of the complaints I've heard from players mostly is the one thing they want to see you get rid of is those shots that deflect off a Defender and go out to play and they just get a free 30 now it's if you bring it back to 20 now it's not quite rewarding right for a deflection out of play yeah yeah it moves moves things amazing how quick um how long 10 seconds can be and uh how big he can set things up so if you have a your defense is solid um you can really press them hard yeah so it'll be interesting we're going to keep our eyes out on that one especially um being that I'm the media guy for Al I'll be able to get a firsthand look and seeing how that plays out and um what's going to happen with it all so I'm looking forward to it so I think it's gonna be exciting I was talking with Doug Louie a former MSL commissioner uh earlier in the day and uh he seems to think it's a great idea also and again something that will increase scoring as well as speed up the game so and that's something that we've we desperately need is a little bit more scoring in this like these pitcher dels are great but lacrosse is meant to be you know 1310 games not uh 62 63 54 that's first quarter is it usually should be used to be all right let's get our butts over to uh well man cup it starts on Friday big media day on Thursday um but uh big thing starts Friday here is your everything you need to know uh game one Friday game two Saturday game three on Monday game four on Tuesday game five on Wednesday if necessary game six on Friday and game seven on Saturday if necessary now we uh we pulled everybody got some interesting answers Eduardo BR me up a little bit with is four game Victoria my heart warms to that boy yeah but uh my two colleagues here are both going for Nations but I took I took Shamrocks in seven I give a slight Edge and I I don't even know why to the the go ending and maybe a little bit into the younger legs as the series draws on I think that will be a big thing as we saw in the President's Cup um to have depth and have young legs doesn't hurt but that all starts so he will not be playing tomorrow for chaos against can uh SOA chaos is job just got a lot tougher without their top defenseman I would say so yeah yeah that that's a real a real blow um if they really want to H want to take Josh berno too I can mail the game in but uh looking at the uh playoffs tomorrow so we got uh the Cannons and the chaos at 4m. PM Eastern and the whip snakes and the Outlaws at 6:30 interesting that every one of us picked the Cannons even before the uh suspension came down yeah I I think they just have too much Firepower and chaos is a they've been running real good the last for me for me offense is is a little too inconsistent there's The Blaze yeah that the chaos offense has has the pieces you know with with you know burn and Ty kurts Ross Scott Shane noblock but uh Ian McCay a few others as well you know all kinds of pieces that can be put in there yeah just even with even with that I mean we've seen some games where you know I think they've lost like 10 four you know it's like okay well the offense go yeah so that was a burn day off he didn't play that game they they seem to move as he moves yeah it's the the Jeff T thing if you can shut down Josh burn um you pretty much have a good chance of winning that game because you're only gonna need six or seven goals everything seems to revolve around him or even if he's not doing things he creates so much Havoc with what he could do air burn that uh it just uh one of those things so it comes down to Cha the Cannon's defense if they can bottle him up that really does put everything in a uh in a funk well let me ask this if you're Brian Holman do you maybe do you make a slight change to your offense and try not to take so many two-point attempts knowing that you've got re internet and maybe knowing that if you can contain or limit Josh burn that you don't need as many goals maybe you just specifically design your offense to get looks in close and you know concentrate on onepoint goals rather than trying to you know they did lead the league in two bombs this year but maybe you want to I don't think I would Veer very much from the game they got me there no I would just stick with what's been working order to reinvent the wheel but and um I don't think there's many guys that want to get in front of these two-point shots true other than re himself but uh we'll see I I think it's going to be interesting I think it's GNA be a lot closer than people think it's gonna be I think Asos is uh gonna give everything they got in this thing and this is just another you know with roll out out just another little motivator to we can still do this guys just just a thought the uh the later game the whip snakes and outlaws is a little bit more of an interesting one uh I picked the whip snakes myself uh Mike I think you went with the Outlaws I went with whip snakes oh you did so without okay and um I believe um Pat one with the whip snakes and wo went with thos I think I believe so so yeah weird strange but um I like the whip SNS I've liked them all year I just think they have the uh they have the talent and not that Denver doesn't but um Denver's been a little bit too inconsistent for me throughout the year any thoughts Mike I pretty much had a had a similar thought so and and this will be uh this will be two Rookie of the Year candidates going at it yeah I know I've beat up on Brennan O'Neal a bit but it's time for him to step up if they're gonna go any further yeah yeah yeah I don't know I went Outlaws but I I just went on hunch I just they have looked good at times and I I feel like at this point maybe they could step up and Sean is going for the championship and he wants to break and then of course the uh the the prize for winning is cannons or chaos get to face Atlas who are number one in the league and of course the whip snakes or Outlaws get to face the archers who are number two in the league now granted The Archers are without Tom shriber that's a huge piece out of their puzzle but they have enough on that team that they can uh withstand and Brett Dobson and net never hurts and of course um pretty much I'm sure that shellenberg will be in by the time this game goes off a week Saturday a week yesterday so um with the te factor with that and all the other pieces rolling um you better get a lot of offense from the Cannons because you know Atlas is gonna generate quite a bit of offense yeah and the winners of these games slightly shorter rest than normal too that's true yeah short week the the semi finals there so right right and then of course the Finals over in Philadelphia on Sunday September the 15th 3M get your tickets folks show up Eagles are playing Eagles are playing Monday night so you have zero excuse right filled that Stadium let's look good for ESP or for ABC any ESPN plus and I want to hear these philler folks saying that they're going to Citizens Bank to see the Mets over April of 2000 and Philadelphia against Buffalo from February of [Music] 2002 um you will see a lot of guys who you're watching coaching now let alone these games are an entirely different animal an entirely different crowd um the Arenas were starting to move into where we are now because they had already moved in Toronto well in 2000 no in Toronto that was actually still map Leaf Gardens that was the last year map Leaf Gardens in fact for you trivia Buffs out there Caleb to's goal was the last goal ever scored in map Leaf Gardens it was the last champ chionship Ever Raised in map Leaf Gardens I'd say it's the last time in Toronto team won but the Argo in rock have won since and the Raptors also but uh you know maybe in you know that Arena but uh the rock were also the first ones to win in the ACC or Scotia Bank depending on how you want to look at it and in front of pack hes the uh the Retro Game I put up this week of Toronto and Washington uh it was in front of 16,500 people awesome it was incredible and against Washington that was coached by darus Kilgore Washington power that had the gates on it um was another All-Star team uh Toronto won 1714 in that game so if you want scoring there were some gorgeous goals in that game and seeing whipper Watson in his prime in there pretty pretty amazing I believe that was from 2002 so it was a year the rock went on to win and I believe that they beat Washington in the playoffs to eliminate them to get on to the finals to play Albany I believe for my memory s right sounds right it's been a rough week guys my memor is kind of like we're doing like it's just we start over but uh there's also a um Rochester game and the game of games was the uh the bandits from 92 in the Memorial Auditorium against the Detroit turbos that and get your game up to Snuff so that they can find you a great uh division one division to school to go to and uh uh get your career on its way and if not get you one hell of a uh an education that you can get out into the real world and really make a mark so kudos to him for all that I want to thank everybody again uh for being with us uh through all of this and especially with all the nuttiness that's going on with the nlll and all the other things are going on and one more tournament for summer summer ball and then we're we're into into fall winter again and uh away we go so it's been a great summer like Jake Elliot said on the broadcast it's just been a fantastic summer of Summer bowl and uh it's been our privilege and our pleasure to bring it to you uh all through the summer and all the different leagues and all the different games and all the different things that uh we've been able to bring to you uh as it happens uh accurately and succinctly and again I do it a lot but more interesting to see who's left on the outside and I would assume that they instantly become free agents that's exactly what's going to happen if they're not under contract they're going to be free agents well that's that's another part of it too yeah but that's that's great thinking about it's going to be very interesting to see the strategy of GMS me personally I just am thinking about how blessed I am that uh uh I have a lot of Lacrosse to look forward to over the next couple of weeks I have got the the man cup and hopefully six or seven games it and I'll parlay that into heading off into UDA having credentials for it for the world lacrosse box championships both men and women and not only getting a chance to see some of the greatest teams and some of the up andc coming teams but a chance to see a lot of the people who I only get to see in certain venues and certain places um sporadically every couple of years the uh the bill barosas Michelle boers people like that who are only in certain places because we're not in the same areas or lals uh we don't get to see each other that often so it's going to be a lot of fun to be able to uh see them in person talk have a drink and relax and uh you know bring my family along with it too so they're coming too so it's going to be an exciting little bit of time uh that we uh get to do it because I didn't get to bring him when I went to San Diego I had to do that one solo so UDA into the car we go and you know four or five hours later there we are but uh if you're looking for hotels try Syracuse there's nothing in youa now it's a it's a full City but uh it's going to be exciting it's going to be exciting and of course tomorrow's going to be a busy day all around uh for any type of Lacrosse fan uh if it's field that
