mainly found in remote and Aid regions its name reflects this characteristic as it refers to the isolated and dry habitat it inhabits what's fascinating about this snake is that it was discovered relatively late around 1879 but for decades little was known about it because its habitat is one of the most inaccessible on the planet its body can grow up to 2 m in length with a color that ranges from dark brown to Olive yellow depending on the season yes this snake changes color with the weather in the summer it tends to be lighter to reflect heat while in the winter it takes on darker tones to absorb as much heat as possible possible the Venom of the inland taipan is simply terrifying to give you an idea the amount of Venom injected in a single bite is enough to kill about 100 adult humans or 250,000 mice its venom is a cocktail of neurotoxins and hemotoxins that quickly act on the victim's body causing muscle paralysis blood clotting and irreversible damage to the nervous system what makes this snake even more fascinating is its extreme efficiency when it bites it usually delivers multiple strikes in a matter of seconds as if trying to ensure the prey has no chance of escape the speed at which the Venom AXS is astonishing and if left untreated the victim could collapse in less than an hour speaking of Venom it's remarkable to note that the taipan has almost surgical Precision when injecting this toxin the mechanism behind its bite is highly evolved its fangs are long and Hollow allowing the Venom to be injected deep into the victim's body ensuring it spreads quickly through the bloodstream Additionally the taipan is one of the few snakes that can control the amount of Venom it injects this means that in hunting situations it can conserve venom for other Venom to take full effect once the prey is completely immobilized the snake returns to consume it safely this method allows the taipan to conserve energy and maximize the efficiency of its hunt even
