L when you're going in there and was it a designed play for Nick to make that rout or was that on the Block I mean every time we go out there our goal is to score I mean we really wanted to score that time Nick was uh we had a read Nick ran the right route won the read was right it is what it is like it happened you saw it walk us through that play uh you know we just we just caught it out before we went out there we seen how they were playing safeties were coming down a little bit on Corners were biting on everything so you know we had that play call before we went into the game and we you know we went out there executed it Eden with you obviously last week you were upset with your performance today just kind of a mixed bag I guess how do you evaluate it cuz you know just know three touchdowns three interceptions and you know three inter three interceptions three two in a fumble right that's a p oh that's how you damn that's how they never came he never hit the ground oh that's crazy um you know I always want to play better no matter how good or how bad I play um I feel like I left a lot of points on the board with first pick also the uh second I mean the second pick and then also the first pick I mean I it just sailed on me I mean you know it happens but I don't like that but um I mean I'm happy with the win you know we hard fought win we put points on the board this time I mean I can't really complain today uh still a little selfish I understand but you know I mean I always can do more how important was that to drive after I think it was the first pick when they scored off that one you guys come back I think it was the first thing maybe you two looked up in the game but either way to to answer their points off a turnover score of it was great I mean we we execute we practice every we practice it every day like we go out to score we're an offense I mean we go out to score and today we did that we could have scored a little bit more I know but um how it played out it played out and we won the game Nick how'd you get so open on the two deep ones and as you're running fre do you think oh please don't overthrow me uh no you know we we practiced this a lot um Corners you know they were biting on the you know the vertical stem um and that's something we practice at practice and um Aiden knows where to put the ball at you know we we practices to execute it and we executed today on the field in the game on that on that first one you you did a nod to the corner it was a double wasn't it on the first deep one I said that again on your first deep one you did not to the corner and then it was no not as much the same play Same yeah your first touchdown for it to be like in that fashion with that drama the game and getting you guys back in it um just how you describe the emotion of that moment for uh it was a big moment for me but you know um uh I feel like you know that's that's my game um that's who I am so just being able to score in that and that that moment is who I am it was it was sort of a big thing for me but you know that's that's what we're here for and how different did this game feel for you versus the last one just with like comfortability and obviously being able to like build off what happened last week um I didn't play scared last week I basically lied to myself told myself I wasn't scared I was it is what it is uh my first start I don't see it that way but I mean I was scared I know and then um today I came out mentality of you know take a deep breath and go hunt that's my thing I tell it to coach with all the time that's our thing we said go hunt and today we went out and we hunted so um I was more comfortable just simply because I got to play free and didn't think too much about where I was going just playing football aen the resilience today trailing three times coming back to TI and then on that last Drive what does that mean to you and to this football team you build something special here and um a lot of people that didn't believe in us stay like that keep it that way I mean um if you didn't want to hop on this boat now then it is what it is you gr now get in a get left so you said said you felt some butterflies last week or scared your words I didn't feel butterflies I was you watched the film back I played like a scared quarterback and can and compared to today do you feel yourself growing into it a little bit more for sure I mean um I don't I didn't feel scared today I I can confidently say that and um I came out made mistakes but I came back and flushed and uh you know got it back so it is what it is Nick have have you been able to just get become take on this role in the offense so early in your career I know you got here in January of course but What's led to this and how satisfying is it that you're a guy that's being called on in a big moment in a big 10 game it feels great you know uh I've been busting my butt at practice every day just you know giving our defense a look you know just practicing my tail off you know hitting the weights and doing everything right and doing what I supposed to to do so coming out here and executing the day felt pretty good felt like you know I'm getting my wors so third Downs were a big factor in this game you able convert a bunch of them is there anything in particular you think led to that just no practice and execution I mean we practice for things like this we do this every week you know sometimes we don't go out there and execute it but when we do execute it it's a great thing it's a big thing and you executed today and look what happened can't complain about it what were you doing as Jonathan lined up for the beld goal you stand there watching or you one of those nervous people that doesn't want to watch it for either you I know he was going to make it I mean that's he he kicks the ball I mean he makes he makes his kicks I didn't have no fear no I wasn't scared it was just you know we about to go win this game one second left it is what it is and I going to do nothing with it you and Aiden worked on cohesion timing all that long before practice started how much did that helped the two of you at a time where they really needed it uh it was it it just was I I don't know how to explain it you know the chemistry was just there you know um we we practice for moments like that and when it came we just was able to execute it so it feels really good to work on something so hard and come out here and do it in the game one more Rel how about your connection with Nick how's that I know you guys been working together for a while now but how have you seen him grow as a freshman and how how's your confidence in him gr I guess I mean we hold each other accountable if I make a mistake and don't throw the ball you know like if he was wide open you know but if uh if he make a mistake I'm going to get on him too like it is what it is we just have a relationship where we can talk to each other communicate go back out there and do what we did today so you guys Happy seem kind of Solen TI beat up I'm going to go home I want to get on this plane and go home definitely all right here we
