Intro what's up everybody welcome back to another pitchy Ninja's filthiest pitches of the day I am pitchy ninja and I'm here with the man who threws Flames through his eyes will Ley what's happening will or all this Chapman still at it I don't know 15 years after he got into the league ninja yesterday Chapman threw maybe the pitch of the year with this 104.7 mph paint to Machado to C ninja I know this had you fired up and you probably even lost sleep over it how was your viewing experience I did lose sleep over it will we were talking about this off camera like I had a hard time sleeping this thing fired me up AAL this Chapman he's 36 years old and he threw back-to-back pitches of 105.1 miles an hour it was a ball okay I get it and the next pitch 104.7 register string 105 on the screen absolutely painted the f fastest backwards k in recorded history and he's 36 years old when he first hit 105 Paul skem was like eight now Paul skem is his teammate and aalis Chapman is still throwing freaking 105 absolutely ridiculous my favorite part of this is after he threw this demon pitch he does his normal stair down and then he just starts laughing and Machado is staring back going like damn and has to laugh back because he just saw probably the best pitch of the year and one of the best pitches at least for a backwards k of all time and hat tip to Andy Fletcher behind the plate who got this call right you nailed it you couldn't even see it and you got this call right fantastic work by everybody involved and just for fun I paired up Ben Joyce and his 105 versus aralis Chapman and his 105 and you can see here they throw very differently to me I've always called ddis Chapman the ultimate throwing machine because he just moves amazingly well he still does moves quickly and he's also amazingly strong so that combination along with his flexibility just leads you to throw this hard for so many years Ben Joy's more of a power guy like he is just pure shoving that thing and he can actually start he starts his wind up a little later than Chapman here or actually he's out of a stretch here but you can see how much more complicated araldo Chapman's mechanics are just in terms of all the things that have to syn up but when they do it's just beautiful poetry in motion now to the rest of the whip around the league the Dbacks beat the WHIP Around the League guardian 7 to3 Brandon fought had 6ks and six in a third Innings giving up two runs he had these sweepers and change ups and I love this three pitch sequence this fast ball sweeper and change up just absolute filth from thought and here's an overlay of that fast ball and sweeper from that sequence you can see that fast ball perfectly painted and why you would take that sweeper is that sweeper starts outside the fast ball that ended up being painted and then hits the brakes goes ends up in the zone nasty stuff from F Joey eses had fourks in five innings giving up two runs they had these sweepers and paintist slider as the A's broke the white socks winning streak three to two this fun L lasted it ends at one s's face Davis Martin who was actually really good with four KS and six scoreless Innings giving up two hits had these Cutters and Sliders just not enough to carry the white socks over the Finish Line Javier Assad had 1K in four Innings giving up two runs he had this painted fast ball as the Cubs Maul the twins eight to2 he faced Joe Ryan who had two ks in two innings giving up one hit but had to leave the game due to triceps tightness that kind of sucks for the twins he has definitely been one of their Aces you say kuchi had eight ks in five in a third Innings giving up two runs as the Astros flew past the Rangers six to four had these painted fast balls these change UPS sliders and curveball he's been looking really good as an astro Luis heel had six case and five Fast Balls scoreless innings giving up only two hits as the Yankees down the Angels five to two and he's fast balls picked up a sword he had these sliders too and honestly I thought his slider took a step back this game they weren't breaking like they had been kind of just spinning up there and really got hitters mostly on the change of velocity versus the movement of these sliders but he'll figure it out and dial it back in and still threw five scoreless I'm gonna skip the Dbacks and Guardians the Dbacks beat the Guardians five to three Eduardo Rodriguez was back cookie Carrasco was n fante bioo had fourks in five and two3 scoreless innings as the Marin swam past the red six to four he had these fast balls and Cutters faced Andrew Abbott who had sevenk in five innings giving up six runs including three home runs so they don't count and had this fast ball at the knees and these change UPS Michael King had seven ks in five innings giving up three runs as the Padres topped the Pirates nine to eight he had these change UPS he faced Marco Gonzalez who had three KS and four and two-thirds Innings giv up five runs had this curveball Blake Snell wasn't quite as good as his last outing but still had eight ks in six Innings giving up three runs as the Giants stomped the national seven to four he had these heaters and dirty curveballs he faced Jake Irvin who had four KS in five innings giving up five runs and had this curveball hasn't quite been as good in the second half Bowen Francis had seven ks in five innings given up two runs had these sliders and Splitters he's really good but still the Orioles picked the Jays seven to3 behind Trevor Rogers who had two ks in five innings giving up two earn runs and had this change up Chris S Sliders had 10ks in four and two3 innings giv up two earn runs he had these fast balls including this painted fast ball and a bunch of Sliders including this back foot slider and picked up some swords here's a home plate view of his slider and you can see how nasty that is and then he had this slider that was somehow hit for a hit I've been watching Chris L for Forever This is a freaking great pitch I usually know out of hand if this is going to be a swinging strike and I was damn sure it was and instead somehow ball was a hit when you're facing sails sometimes just got to close your eyes and throw the bat out there and just try and get some wood on it honestly dude did this start help or hurt Chris L sa young odds I think it just kind of kept him in the same spot and the numbers seem to reflect that as he's plus 115 and Wheeler is at plus 200 and Ski's at plus 220 that's kind of what I thought I mean not his best effort in terms of run prevention but 10ks in four and 23ds innings looking nasty and every start shortens the season by a start giving everybody else a tougher chance to catch up it's he's in the driver's seat he faced Freddy peralto who had six KS in five innings giving up four runs helping the Brewers to hop past the Braves 8 to5 he had these fast balls up to 98 and his slider in the night cap the angels beat Nightcap the Yankees 8-2 I'm gonna kind of skip this Carson Fulmer pitched pretty well giving up two runs and four Innings will Warren didn't pitch quite as well and gave up eight runs the Phillies beat the Dodgers nine to4 Tyler Phillips versus Gavin Stone neither looked amazing well skip this one too schwarber had three bombs and seven RBI see that's why I wanted to skip it Eric fetty had sixks in five innings giving up one run yeah baby as the Cardinals down the Rays five to two and he's two seers sweepers and Cutters he faced Taj Bradley who honestly wasn't very good yesterday with three KS and four and two3 innings giving up five runs and had this cutter and splitter just not very sharp Cole Reagan with was okay yesterday with seven strikeouts and six and a third Innings giving up four runs but only one was earned as the Royals doubled up on the Red Sox eight to four he had these Cutters sliders change UPS picked up a sword he faced cutter Crawford who had three strikeouts and three and two3 innings giving up six runs had this cutter for a sword and this sweeper Z is now over over four after he had a hot start gonna touch on that yeah like he really didn't keep that pace that he started Paul Blackburn had sixks in six Innings giving up one earn run he had these Cutters and absolutely got fired up here as the Mets summited the Rockies 5 to3 thought Blackburn looked good the tiger sunk the Mariners six to Top 5 two Terk scoble had nine K in seven Innings giving up three hits and two runs he had these overpowering fast balls these Wicked sliders and these filthy change UPS had 21 swings and misses in this game to lead the day in swings and misses and then he had this 100 mph fast ball that was hit for a line drive comebacker at him that he for some reason tried to catch barehanded Trick Baby Bubby what the are you doing here this is youring saong hand never do this again I watched this it was like my life flashed before my eyes in slow motion you cannot do this dude you have a obligation to win the sa young this year I don't care how much you wanted to make a sports center catch with your bare hand or how much instincts there are never do this again go to your room will did this start help or hurt Terk scoble sa Young Award chances he's now run away with it Ninja he's at minus 330 Nexus Burns at plus 300 he face Commander George Kirby who had seven ks in five innings giving up three runs had these fast balls picked up a sword a splitter and slider now out of my filthiest relievers Jason Foley had this nasty slider Kay Holmes had these filthy sweepers Michael copc had this overpowering 100 m hour heater that was still five miles an hour slower than aralis Chapman and Justin Martinez had the splitter and 100 mph fast ball my top five filthiest pitches of the day yesterday at number five of Ryan Hesley for his 101 mph fast ball and a White Castle SP special to boot at number four Lucas IG for this 100 mph two seamer with 15 in of run and number three Chris S and his filthy sliders number two TK scoble for his change ups and Sliders and a number one the man who has found the Fountain of Youth the ultimate throwing machine a Ral this freaking Chapman for his 105.1 and 104.6 7 mph fast balls I salute you aralis and now my pitchy ninja Moment of Moment of Zen Zen I love this with chipper describing this play back when he was playing Left Field he really hated playing Left Field this was me at uh that's a penalty by the way that's so great I my favorite part is how you just throw it to him you're like whatting watch watch my right foot gets caught in my left shoel say this so Chip look at that's a great toss to Andrew right there I used to watch so it gets caught right there that's the best angle can we get that angle again because it looks like he knocked him over see right here it's right foot left shoelace extend with [Music] the my picks of the day today I'm going to start out with Shane BOS for 5Ks or more then take Brian woo for 6ks or more and top it off with hunter green for 7 K or more what would your pcks of the day be
