Editorial boards of two major national newspapers are now calling for each of the presidential candidates to drop out of the race. The New York Times released a statement Friday calling for President Biden to end his campaign. The editors argue the clearest path to beating Trump is to acknowledge that Biden can't continue. This comes after Biden's performance during the first debate, the Philadelphia Inquirer instead released a statement calling for former President Trump to drop out. The editorial board says another Trump term would bring quote more lies, grievance, narcissism and hate. Well, meanwhile CNN reports, President Biden's family is encouraging him to stay in the presidential race and not drop out after his debate performance last week. Biden is expected to become the official nominee at the Democratic National Convention in August.
