all right here's your Birdland minute for August 17th 2024 Orioles lose 5 to1 over the Red Sox here in game three of the four game series another disappointing game for the Orioles but what was not disappointing was the return of Cade Povich Cade Povich was outstanding in this game he came with a completely different mindset in approach it seemed like to this game he was going right after Boston's hitters with terrific stuff and putting them away seemingly with ease um he gets through almost seven Innings allows one run and then an additional run to score as an inherited Runner by yanir Canó as the bullpen wasn't good in this game Canó gave up a big hit to uh you know break the 1-1 tie there in the seventh um bur Smith gave up two run Homer to De so not good by the bullpen um the offense was completely flat against Brian B gunar Henderson did hit a game tying Homer in the sixth which was really hype um but that was about it for the offense I feel the Orioles are very close the offense has been better the pitching is slight been slightly better the defense has been good but they just can't seem to put it all together so hopefully that comes soon Yankees lose still only a game out but the Orioles need Sunday's win to even this
